I'm not into these things being a coincidence really , we've all had this happen , but this car in question was stood a while which is not good for battery life , ran ok for a short distance to fuel st then pooped its self when customers have the doors open , lights on radio on heated rear screen and every bloody electric switch they can find to prove it works on , just seems like a killer switch to a weak battery , Iv'e even had customers look like they are trying to flatten the battery to have a moan , we now have a policy " No keys unless we are with the car " No bonnets open unless we are present , Customer DONT remove oil caps , dipsticks , radiator caps or operate switches . Funny enough that so called coincidence has never happened again .

I don't understand that question ?

Did it say stocking loan ? Did you see the report ? I still wouldn't be happy without a clear report , if its a stocking loan ask the dealer to clear it before you buy it . then get proof , at that point your ok .

Makes me wonder if they tried every electrical switch and function in the car , ignition on , lights on , radio , aircon , fans , interior lights , Without the engine running , Result Flat battery . Electric seats flatten batteries like nothing else , so do heated seats , Seen it happen often and now I only leave the keys with them while I'm next to them . So i can switch it off .

What did you expect from a warranty company , listed parts are covered , NON Listed parts are not covered . Simples really if you think about it .

Car Guru free adverts get emails from the customer , but they haven't got any contact info for you , return emails go back to car Guru and that in my mind is were the problem is . The customer gets an email and it normally lands in their junk box . Hence the email doesn't get answered . When you swap to a paid advert its a different process and the customer gets the emails . Hence they have more opportunity to answer

There is going to be some serious money lost selling used cars this way isn't there , they have zero idea about what will be involved in prep , servicing , cleaning standards , MOT advisories , then as you point out , distance selling , soon as people get into the fact they can send it back its a free car isn't it , enough time for a holiday trip , park it at the airport and send it back .

We have never in all the years we've done this ever been asked those questions . Just filled a V62 , sometimes we have known the previous post code , mostly we haven't got the post code though like the one last night . Took V62 to post office with new keepers name address , paid £25 because we didn't know the previous post code , Post office taxed the car and the girl will get her V5 in due course as normal .

Confused about different car scanners...
David Horgan replied to ronneymilson's topic in General Dealer Chat
Sell the Mazda , far less hassle , the bloody car will never work anyway , Except to spend upwards of 15k on a good scanner that works on everything . -
Iv'e just been to the post office with a V62 to tax the car that hasnt got a V5 , put it in the customers name on V62 , taxed it and thats all done , Customer due in 30 mins and its taxed and in her name , so she will get the new V5 delivered to her house .

But if I'm honest they were in the screen half hidden , On the NIP there was NO mention of the plate number , Just the cars reg plate . Plus the plates are registered at the garage and the car was from BCA who have my house as the registered address which is were the NIP was posted to. That's why I'm thinking the camera crew picked it up from DVLA Was quite funny too as I told the test driver the Camera van was there , two cars flashed their lights and he ignored all the hints just said these cars are quick aren't they so 43 mph cost him points and a £100 silly guy Not that i like the robbing money making low life's that sit in the fecking vans robbing people mind , remember the days when Cops told folk to slow down , much better system wasn't it .

Hi How does a car in trade that's not on the MID get a NIP sent to my house 4 days after my customer went through a camera quoting the reg number on the NIP , so its not the trade plate number that they quoted but trade plates are on the MID . Was we found by trade plate number then ?

that's a really good opener in my mind . "[ rrrrring rrrrring ] Good morning its Nacman cars ,,,, [customer] " Hello were outside a scrap yard , " Oh ok that's not the place to buy your next car is it , is the scrap yard on your right or left " . ok well let me tell how to find me and your next car then " See nac man you've put yourself over as humorous , nice ,well mannered sales guy before they've even met you, with just making the positive out of the so called negative . Lead into meeting them with haha now you can see we don't sell scrap , its that google maps thing " total pain it is ", come in and let me show you this lovely car .

All sales are recorded to DVLA , some at auction come with no yellow slip , some do . We know two girls who work at BCA and their job is to record sales of trader name to DVLA online . So if you bought an auction car DVLA would have it in trade as your company name eg Lakeside cars Copy of invoice sorts that out pal , but in reality it doesn't always get reported to DVLA ,
-
Autotrader follow google I'm thinking , cant see you getting anything from them , it wont stop customers coming either , they just arrive outside the scrap yard and ring to ask where you are after following their sat nav . Still happens with us , customer rings and says cant find you were outside a post office
-
All the yellow slips are completed online casper at Auction and if I bought a car at auction it would be in my trade name on DVLA Records , If I then sold you that same car I write to DVLA and give them your Trade name . Our exchanged invoices prove ownership of the car . If you have a car bought from a trader who has not told DVLA its now yours he/she would get the NIP " notice of prosecution " as the car would be recorded as theirs still on DVLA Records . He/she would then return the NIP with your details and a copy of the invoice between yourselves . You are then liable unless you can prove it was not you . Hence with test drives you need to record the drivers details who was driving , Photo copy their licence and write eg 22nd sept 3pm White fiesta , AB 14 ABC returned at 3.25 pm just incase they speed thru a camera and the NIP comes to you .

Lets hope that is the case for him Casper , I'm all for high turn and a pink car would scare me to death . Sold eight today and no one mentioned pink
-
salmon pink , mmmmm could be the problem that colour as to why its not selling , cuts 98% of the interested parties out ringing you I bet. Only two people will be interested in that car , the customer who sold you the car , and you who needs to sell it , Good luck with that sale . Might be better on face book with that colour ,
-
face book . probably when pissed in the pub . The suspense has to be hidden till the votes are in

Click Dealer DMS system is connected to their web site set up , Invoices for cars and other invoices for repairs and that " all numbered " , Gabriel , VAT , Buying a car invoice , PX Records , The amount you spent on the stock cars and a list of profits after that spend , finance commissions on tap , all at the touch of the key board etc . Great system . Oh and the web site as well of course .

Only have room for 30 advertised on AT and 25 on car guru . We stock 20 /30 on sale , and 5 always being prepped to replace , we do sell cars that don't get to the advert stage too, like this week so far we have sold 5 to previous customers and two walk ins , those cars never hit the online airwaves Its a continuous circle

There is some serious losses on this thread , Giving me heart palpitations reading this Christ almighty if I lost some of these figures I would never recover my sanity . I lost a £5 note 2nd August 1984 , it fell out of my pocket when i was riding back from the bike shop after collecting my new Yamaha FJ 1100 and that fiver still haunts me to this day .

That's the spirit pal , your starting the journey of blaming your self by making Changes . But there's NO suppose , take it from me and lots of others on here , its not easy but we made changes along the way , no sitting on your bum waiting for the phone to annoy you . make that phone ring , the power is your fingers

Done three today , two lined up for Done three today all left the building , one gone out from yesterday and two lined up to view tomorrow with deposits . Turned an offer down on a little Auto with only 4,000 miles on clock , £6k on screen and the lunatic rings me four times today then offers £5k You have my number he says so think about it , " thought about pal NO " cheek of them ," oh and I don't ring back so don't sit near the phone waiting for a call " If your not busy Nacman its your fault , nothing to do with the economy , brexit , or any other lame excuse , Rule number one of business Nacman is blame yourself
