  1. I've always fitted DUNLOPS Jag Rated Tyres as its what they came with . Rears £360 inc VAT a pair , Fronts £240 Inc VAT a pair , Tyre Price above pal . Road tax lol "who cares " with that amount of power
  2. Sorry N Your post fuelled a fast car topic , It happens
  3. 700 bhp wet road , touch the gas and it spins , lift touch and it spins , gentle momentum and get it going yes , but the punto was then in front and the lanes closed lol Inexperienced drivers should not turn traction off oh no oh my god no . two ways to turn it off , limited and then OFF boy that's fun but the world turns sideways Yes its manageable but its not for the inexperienced , Number of 360's rotations would be my guess before reversing thru the hedge in a pile of tyre smoke
  4. Has to be done , It actually changes the whole dynamics of the car , Side ways everywhere , I always have a play when tyres get to 3mm then fit new ones cos they just go smooth in a day I absolutely love these cars , the sound , handling and Torque are just addictive aren't they , if it hasn't had the rear boxes changed you honestly must do it , Enjoy the power On a wet road they are embarrassing sometimes , Set of lights near us one Sunday , Hissing down with rain , Punto on lights with old lady in it , left me for dead , I couldn't get the power down she was laughing at me bless her , Made her church run anyway
  5. I'm Voting V8's petrol But I might let the wife have electric , stop her putting her foot down as much . Just had a new XFR , smaller super charger pulley , rear boxes replaced with smaller stainless ones , re map 700 bhp and sounds like heaven on tarmac Good luck with the dreams mind , cant beat an achiever looking for better things
  6. Hi N The humorous intro made me laugh welcome aboard
  7. One guy in Notts BCA doesn't even look at them properly , just wanders round noting a few things down , I wouldn't pay him in bent washers . All this appraisal looks good on paper or when they all talk about ,it but in reality how can it work . They can only use set phrases to describe what they see if they look in the first place .
  8. Every single BCA has a different set of standards when looking at grading cars . As BHM Says we see it all the time when at auctions , Complete chunks of mis described crap going online for good money . Poor Previous repair , Whole side of car Badly painted Windscreen missed on report , Cracked . Pan Roof Cracked , Not on report
  9. Had one of those on Toyota , Bought the car and came back with his mate dressed from top to toe in SNAP ON , hat , coat boots gloves the bloody lot was brand new They came back to announce the clutch was make a loud clicking noise , metallic click Mr Snap On said . My son confronted him with , " Mate its the Air Con Clicking " and proceeded to explain how the air con worked and why it clicked , then pointed to where the clutch was and said" its on the other side of the car pal , " I chirped up that i thought he would have known that dressed in SNAP ON Then they left
  10. HI Old Novice . Welcome aboard Bet you just watch the experts struggle with that bonnet don't you . I do then stop them taking any caps off , big no no round here. Seen all the tricks they get up to with removing caps .
  11. Finance companies that pay commissions aren't going to interested in you without VAT I wouldn't imagine . You wouldn't generate enough business under 85k VAT limit to warrant their interest . Just look for a broker and use it to sell the odd car that needs finance , Orange Motor Finance will help you , Ask for Carrie she is really nice and helpful .
  12. They would have left without the jack if they were with me trying to take wheels off . OUT NOW , don't even let them touch the oil filler cap or try the OBD reader from China either .
  13. Not a good start to your week my friend . Hope it work out for you with the oil change and reset . VAG stuff is good when its had a Chain Kit , guides , tensioners , oil service , New Manifold on the petrols , EGR On the diesels , turbo rebuild , DSG box sorted out .Oh new engine on the 1.4 super charged /turbo engines Long as VAG parts are fitted it just about allows you to break even as long as you pay labour and do it yourself .
  14. Brake Discs are wear and tear items are they not , Same as AUX Belt . Regarding corrosion on Suspension items, you need to see it really as that's a discretion item on MOT test , unless you had it on a ramp and have it written down or pictured , I picture under the cars on a ramp so if this sort of thing happens we can state " well i'm looking at the pics now and it shows nothing like your saying " Same with tyres and they have come in handy when customer tries to claim they are 2mm and pics show 6 mm . Pics shut it down very quickly , only used the twice in 4 yrs we've been doing it but pics don't lie , unlike customers .
  15. You all have access to the MID don't you ? Put yours back on and tell him/her to go bury his head and don't do it again , or you will bury it for him
  16. His name is Ian and he is not only having his 66 plate A3 Quattro done but his wifes 14 plate Golf as well . So its £900 twice
  17. Difference from someone who knows their job and the many who haven't a clue , turned the car into a sale car and added lots of value to your mark up we hope
  18. Need a few customers who are well into their cars to make it pay , LA is a detailing Capital ,the UK doesn't even see the difference just a duh that's shiny , its not just Tyne and Wear , I certainly wouldn't like to try earning a living detailing cars in the UK , But I do like doing it and seeing the paint change .
  19. Sure is a posh valet Aufur , but it does entail a very thorough two stage paint cleaning process, three machine polishes using different pads and polishes and a wax or nano sealant to enhance the gloss and durability of the paint , does look excellent when done properly, not a mar line , hologram , scratch or anything else left in the finish , feels smooth and repels water like nothing on earth and the reflections are astonishingly clear . I have a black XFR and people do look twice at the finish its totally flat without a mark in it and the shine amazing , in sun light its reflection shows multiple colours that don't look Black , I did take that car to the 9th degree though even polished the door shut paint work and it was wet flatted before we took to it with the polishers , three of us did that one in 20 hours after it was chemically cleaned , clay bar and tar removed . These two jobs have come from the cars parked on the front and the guy asked what made them shine so well . I said £2,000 and it went from there really No offence taken either pal
  20. Same guy has a Golf GTI for next week too , wants inside leather and outside paint work on that one , plus Cam belt and service . Daren't say whats that going to cost him
  21. Thanks Casper appreciated , I haven't got a like or smiley face button any more
  22. Hi Umesh Coming from your self my friend I will take that as a compliment . Hope your well ?, must ring you some time
  23. HI Kieran Welcome aboard . Nice intro as the others have said Trick to selling is make sure you do three things , Prep , prep ,prep , make sure the car is mechanically sound and fit for purpose , service it , inspect it very well , then it wont come back to bite you .If it does man up and fix it, but equally dont be a soft touch as they will try to skin your last breathe if you do . Regards detailing cars and selling them , I can tell you now that people who buy cars haven't got a clue about detailing and whats involved , but its a very useful skill to shall we say enhance the paint work and make the interior look sparkly clean too . We are pro detailers too so we know how they react to that word When you get to the higher prices 12/16k then its a different story but in the price range you said don't confuse the customer with sealants , nano products , machine polishing , carnuba waxes and the rest . Insurance !, put it dads name and add yourself on at the same time , we did when my son was 19 and it was easy , better when he was 25 so you shouldn't have any trouble really . Above all have fun , its hard work but done correctly it makes money , I get a sense of satisfaction from every sale . But I live for the deals .Like detailing too mind sometimes pick on a car and go to the limits of shine and finish , just because i can Just took a 66 plate Audi A3 quattro that wants detailing , the £900 will give me an internal glow when he pays me on Monday
  24. I dumped a free trial for 3 months Like watching tumble weed blowing around hoping that motors.uk sell a car . If it were me I wouldn't waste your hard earned in their direction . just my experience though
