  1. They would have left without the jack if they were with me trying to take wheels off . OUT NOW , don't even let them touch the oil filler cap or try the OBD reader from China either .
  2. Not a good start to your week my friend . Hope it work out for you with the oil change and reset . VAG stuff is good when its had a Chain Kit , guides , tensioners , oil service , New Manifold on the petrols , EGR On the diesels , turbo rebuild , DSG box sorted out .Oh new engine on the 1.4 super charged /turbo engines Long as VAG parts are fitted it just about allows you to break even as long as you pay labour and do it yourself .
  3. Brake Discs are wear and tear items are they not , Same as AUX Belt . Regarding corrosion on Suspension items, you need to see it really as that's a discretion item on MOT test , unless you had it on a ramp and have it written down or pictured , I picture under the cars on a ramp so if this sort of thing happens we can state " well i'm looking at the pics now and it shows nothing like your saying " Same with tyres and they have come in handy when customer tries to claim they are 2mm and pics show 6 mm . Pics shut it down very quickly , only used the twice in 4 yrs we've been doing it but pics don't lie , unlike customers .
  4. You all have access to the MID don't you ? Put yours back on and tell him/her to go bury his head and don't do it again , or you will bury it for him
  5. His name is Ian and he is not only having his 66 plate A3 Quattro done but his wifes 14 plate Golf as well . So its £900 twice
  6. Difference from someone who knows their job and the many who haven't a clue , turned the car into a sale car and added lots of value to your mark up we hope
  7. Need a few customers who are well into their cars to make it pay , LA is a detailing Capital ,the UK doesn't even see the difference just a duh that's shiny , its not just Tyne and Wear , I certainly wouldn't like to try earning a living detailing cars in the UK , But I do like doing it and seeing the paint change .
  8. Sure is a posh valet Aufur , but it does entail a very thorough two stage paint cleaning process, three machine polishes using different pads and polishes and a wax or nano sealant to enhance the gloss and durability of the paint , does look excellent when done properly, not a mar line , hologram , scratch or anything else left in the finish , feels smooth and repels water like nothing on earth and the reflections are astonishingly clear . I have a black XFR and people do look twice at the finish its totally flat without a mark in it and the shine amazing , in sun light its reflection shows multiple colours that don't look Black , I did take that car to the 9th degree though even polished the door shut paint work and it was wet flatted before we took to it with the polishers , three of us did that one in 20 hours after it was chemically cleaned , clay bar and tar removed . These two jobs have come from the cars parked on the front and the guy asked what made them shine so well . I said £2,000 and it went from there really No offence taken either pal
  9. Same guy has a Golf GTI for next week too , wants inside leather and outside paint work on that one , plus Cam belt and service . Daren't say whats that going to cost him
  10. Thanks Casper appreciated , I haven't got a like or smiley face button any more
  11. Hi Umesh Coming from your self my friend I will take that as a compliment . Hope your well ?, must ring you some time
  12. HI Kieran Welcome aboard . Nice intro as the others have said Trick to selling is make sure you do three things , Prep , prep ,prep , make sure the car is mechanically sound and fit for purpose , service it , inspect it very well , then it wont come back to bite you .If it does man up and fix it, but equally dont be a soft touch as they will try to skin your last breathe if you do . Regards detailing cars and selling them , I can tell you now that people who buy cars haven't got a clue about detailing and whats involved , but its a very useful skill to shall we say enhance the paint work and make the interior look sparkly clean too . We are pro detailers too so we know how they react to that word When you get to the higher prices 12/16k then its a different story but in the price range you said don't confuse the customer with sealants , nano products , machine polishing , carnuba waxes and the rest . Insurance !, put it dads name and add yourself on at the same time , we did when my son was 19 and it was easy , better when he was 25 so you shouldn't have any trouble really . Above all have fun , its hard work but done correctly it makes money , I get a sense of satisfaction from every sale . But I live for the deals .Like detailing too mind sometimes pick on a car and go to the limits of shine and finish , just because i can Just took a 66 plate Audi A3 quattro that wants detailing , the £900 will give me an internal glow when he pays me on Monday
  13. I dumped a free trial for 3 months Like watching tumble weed blowing around hoping that motors.uk sell a car . If it were me I wouldn't waste your hard earned in their direction . just my experience though
  14. I would have rolled on the floor laughing
  15. CAT C hasnt bothered the van for two and half years and 60,000 miles , he must have known it was on register when he insured it , might even of come up on the Irish reg system when he put Irish Plates on it . Trying it on because he has a head gasket bill and no money
  16. Supercharged Suzuki Hyabusa is the only bike for the city , gets you there in comfort , that fast you don't get wet in the rain , whip anything off the traffic lights really easy , very reliable too
  17. I have the invoices to prove and i learned my trade in the 70's too bought and sold lots of items in my life , buying and selling is in my DNA
  18. I applied to get into the traders area , sent my trade insurance off , see what happens next ? If I'm worthy
  19. Why would you not write "sold as CAT D " on the invoice . Sounds very harsh to think he may get 60 k of use though without a usage charge , 45p a mile is the norm , its way past the 6 month CRA , but selling an undeclared cat d vehicle is a definite NO NO really . But 60,000 45 pences is a lot too at £27,000 Think about where you advertised it and see if they have a copy of the advert if you don't , presuming you advertised the Vehicle as CAT D ? Hope you at least did that
  20. Its that feeling in the fingers time again isn't it . I had Autotrader guys who think this stuff up here last week , looking at how we decide to buy and why we choose what we do , They left very confused and quite demoralised in their thoughts , they realised a computer didn't have that feeling in the fingers . We had a game where they chose 10 cars to sell and priced them using their system , and i chose 10 cars . We then researched trade prices at BCA and what would make money . The were astonished at the prices and how far out AT was , but didn't understand it changes daily too " faster than computer thinks " They then advertised 10 cars on my AT system and I advertised my choices , two days later I won hands down in the results of search patterns. We sell cars that are not available round our area but people travel to see us , we also sell cars that are popular round our area but never cheaper . Its that finger feeling that cant be taught , we all or most of us have some sort of finger feeling version don't we and its far more accurate as its time served over the years . The sale is down to us .
