You're not thinking this through - what do you think the scam is? If Scrawf doesn't get sent money in the first place then he won't be sending the car off. I think the scammer sends the funds, receives the car then draws the money back by claiming fraud or the car has an issue.

Setup a PayPal account registered to a bank account you don't use, get him to pay, whip the cash out of the account. Scam the scammer.

Fancy photos, I like the fade/ blur whatdoucallit round the outside, especially on the internals... how is that done?

Everything's cyclical. AutoTrader is at it's boom at the moment, highest share price ever and huge profits. I'd guess they've squeezed all they can.

Just get the finance house to do it for you - most reps will help.

At the moment it seems nearly every dealer works 7 days a week and goes to an auction on bank holiday with the idea that they’ll buy a load of cars at a steal because no one else will be there. The reality is it’s no different to a normal day and with an army of private there on a jolly things can often be worse, 9/10 I’ve gone I’ve wished I’d just stayed at home, turned off my phone cooked a nice meal or gone out and done something - sorry, it’s just what I see in this trade and it kind of depresses me!

Very true. We often forget how hard it is for a customer to find a decent example of what they’re looking for.

I think you’re right to decline at that price. I would want less commitment too. There’s a lot that can change in 12 months.

Our local EH looks empty sometimes then a day later they’re packed to the rafters, then come Monday empty again... always wondered about this aswell...?

A bit off topic but lads, get a Return to Base clause in those warranties! Not so bad if local but I used to hate selling cars far away.

I've probably had two people get shirty over the phone that we don't take cards... and that's when they want to pay by credit card. My view: good riddance to bad rubbish the car will sell to someone else.

We signed up to autotrader two months ago and couldn’t be more underwhelmed. We survived on eBay, CarGurus and Facebook before on the assumption that people look on al platforms and to be honest I’m regretting convincing my business partner to try it. I say survived. We do bloody well without.

I have certain cars here and I think "little old lady will have that" "1st driver" "maybe someone looking to lug stuff around" ... I'm very very rarely right so I've stopped guessing. I just like easy-going customers that aren't entitled picky arseholes.
