Had an older Polo S with no air, manual windows and no remote central locking for about 8 months Make then cheap!

Are you thinking of cancelling AT? Or just cutting it back a bit? I ask because I’m surprised in a way. I thought it would shift the majority of your stock and you’d be a pretty vocal supporter. I just think they’re making a rod for their own back with all this price indicator stuff. The reality is they’re driving their customers towards worse cars. My observation aswell has been the customers calling from AT on my stock have been really awkward know it alls.

Trying AT for a few months, can't see the fuss at the moment. eBay is outperforming it on the sub £4k stuff we sell. AT's answer.... YOU'RE TOO EXPENSIVE. Well clearly not since eBay is shifting it. Maybe we don't sell them for dirt money but ours are properly prepped. But that counts for nothing clearly. I'll make a thread in a few months with my findings. As for a price increase... it's expensive enough!

And no one will call your mother's decency into question BHM!

I'm curious how selling your Mum's car has landed you on a car traders forum?

Go careful and build slowly. We started with about 6 grand! So 50 should make a nice little start up business.

Too many bidders, auction fees and delivery are all things you're well aware of. The problem is you and how much you wave your catalogue. You need to take responsibility for the losses and understand where the blame lies. As others have said do your research and stick to it.

Why aren’t you making a profit? are you paying too much? paying too much in repairs or not waiting long enough? give us some examples of cars you have bought and sold and I will tell you where you’re going wrong?
-
Are you basing this on any evidence or just the experience you’ve had of people not replying? On Facebook I get the same thing. “Is it still available?” I reply, usually within the hour, and they read it but never reply. The difference being I never question the legitimacy because I can see their profile. With CG I did question whether they were realfor a while but I now think that online companies are so good at manipulating us to click their lead magnets that we do even though we probably weren’t THAT committed.

Motors is a waste of time. eBay is a better shout but you still won’t get the same level of response as AT. Sorry!
-
If any of you are stupid enough to pay upfront for a car you haven’t seen off a company with no visible reputation then you deserve everything you get. Heres some advice from a car trader: cheap = shit and if it looks too good to be true it definitely is.

That’d make £600+ tip at BCA if it was coming out of Inchcape £995 to £1295? -
If you didn't sell cars what would you be doing?
Mojo121 replied to ExCouncilJobsworth's topic in General Dealer Chat
It all takes time, that’s what I’m learning, lucky I have time and pleased and admire that your vision has come to fruition. Luck might be a bit of it but from reading that building up and the hard work is probably the other 90%. Thanks for the answer. (Now, where are the customers today??? Did someone say half term!) -

That’s quite literally what I’m thinking. Sourcing stock is just ridiculously time consuming and prep is getting worse and worse. My skills are presentation, marketing and sales. Anyway, back to looking for that magic bullet What made you definitively decide that Delta Kits was the way to go? What made you make the jump? -
Are you saying that your rent and rates come to £4500 a month for 10 cars?
-
A lot of testers give you the idea it’s rotten through when the truth is it just needs a plate or two welding on. Depends where you take them. Some don’t see rust that often. my fav is “underside showing minor corrosion”... it’s 12 years old d***head

Keen to try a "finance only" strategy for a month. Thoughts?
Mojo121 replied to Nick M.K.'s topic in General Dealer Chat
Just to avoid pissing people off it maybe worth putting into the ads of cars you're looking to trial this with "this car is only available to buy on finance". If they call up or message and haven't read it at least you have it to fall back on. -
£100 + he's coming to you... and they say customers want something for nothing!

I bought one of these knock off INPA K Line DCAN cables on eBay and used it on some BMWs. Biggest waste of 4 hours of my life getting INPA to talk to Windows 10. I eventually got it working, don’t ask how. Amongst other things to make it work my cable, yours is probably a bit more sophisticated, had to be set on a particular mode on the cable by moving a switch.

Do they normally pass, I mean, it’s an opportunity to make if it needs something right? (No, I do not run a garage as you may tell!!) -
If they don’t pick it up and you’re no more than an hour and a half away from Peterborough I’ll have it

A good jump starter is a must. Clarke 4000 gets my vote. Polisher - I got a cheapo off eBay but invested in good quality heads for it. upholstery cleaner and a wet and dry vac is fine. stick to a basic obd reader unless you plan on fixing, if not, leave it to your mechanic.
