  1. Or stick a diesel generator in the back... ?
  2. Not surprising they're being stolen! I saw an M Performance steering wheel on eBay the other day for £895 (it does show the temp and revs on it though, so you can feel like Jenson Button )
  3. The description part of your advert doesn't have a description. Where's the write up? You need to note full s/h info, owners, keys, MOT etc etc. I know some of that is on the page in places but you need to showcase it in text all together too. Website looks nice though though, agree on the consistency remark made re. photos. V important.
  4. You haven’t got a fucking clue. Don’t even bother. Ridiculous post.
  5. I'd say 1 rule would be don't do this game unless you have to. But whatever. Enjoy. It's hard as hell right now getting stock and I see no signs of it getting easier.
  6. No offence to Umesh, and a bit off topic, but Theo is such a cock. On topic : 9 for me this month so a strong start. Stocking up remains difficult. Have 4 in prep but I'm still 15 cars away from being happy.
  7. Literally EVERYTHING except, as we found, a 1.9 tdi with an absolutely ballsed battery... but that’s not it’s fault!
  8. Jesus, seems like everyone on this forum has got a problem customer! Anyway, in terms of doing what you want to do. Get the car back, state the car is irreparable and uneconomical to repair and hence a full refund is his only option. Problem solved. Flog it from the back of Tesco I reckon.
  9. Easy peasy: refund it. No arguments. I wouldn’t be retailing no history 135k VX petrols!
  10. So we don't have to answer their questions and just fob them off to the book?? Result. "Well, the first investment you should make in your new car sales business is to buy the 'How To Be A Car Dealer Digital Magazine'..."
  11. A LITRE PER 1,000 MILES? They actually put that in their service book? That's horrendous.

(11)In subsection (10) the first 6 months means 6 months beginning with the first day after these have all happened— (a)ownership or (in the case of a contract for the hire of goods, a hire-purchase agreement or a conditional sales contract) possession of the goods has been transferred to the consumer, (b)the goods have been delivered, and (c)where the contract requires the trader to install the goods or take other action to enable the consumer to use them, the trader has notified the consumer that the action has been taken. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/15/section/24/enacted#section-24-11

Oh okay. I didn't know usage was specifically mentioned in CRA and mentions cars. Just found it. Thanks! Presume usage can only be deducted post month 1? (8)If the consumer exercises the final right to reject, any refund to the consumer may be reduced by a deduction for use, to take account of the use the consumer has had of the goods in the period since they were delivered, but this is subject to subsections (9) and (10). (9)No deduction may be made to take account of use in any period when the consumer had the goods only because the trader failed to collect them at an agreed time. (10)No deduction may be made if the final right to reject is exercised in the first 6 months (see subsection (11)), unless— (a)the goods consist of a motor vehicle, or (b)the goods are of a description specified by order made by the Secretary of State by statutory instrument.

That's what I'd do if they're playing stonewall. I admit you're in the land of hope; getting a judge willing to listen to a usage argument is probably another toss of the coin.

Probably. But as badly as having to give a full refund? If his position is that he'll provide a refund minus usage and they're saying no to that it might be worth contending for that alone. Even the ADR might side with him. Not to mention you get to keep and play with the money for a while.

Reading these threads just reminds me of the absolute bullshit you have to go through as a car trader. Just to pose a different question. The lender are looking to reject the car; what can they actually do that the customer can't? You've been paid out from them. They can take you to court. They can stop lending to your customers - plenty more fish in the sea. Don't let them bully you. Discuss it with them, finalise your position and if it doesn't sit right with you tell them see you in court. No further communication to them or customer. Puts them in the firing line instead.
  17. I'm with you and your tin foil hat. Problem is we are not far enough up the food chain to be privvy to the free money intel.
  18. Sold the odd cheap car off there. Not anywhere near enough to justify paying but not none so I put the time into adding them on.
  19. I feel the same about BCA at the moment. Anything half decent you have to go all out on and hope there's little recon'ing needed!
  20. A mate of mine has 12 on sale at all times and regularly does 20+ per month - he’s really flying and no one can quite figure it out. He’s definitely one in the race to the bottom as he’s always the cheapest on AT and probably flies very close to the wind regarding legal obligations Another friend has 10-12 on sale, he’s on AT and does between 10-16 per month. I tend to have 18-25 on sale, not on AT and do 14-20 a month. what are you planning on selling? ps an in-depth business plan is a waste of you time. After a month it’ll be out the window.
  21. Very interesting move. If you ask me this is an excellent thing for all of us. eBay is a huge player and this combined with their earlier purchase of Gumtree really signals a strong interest to become a contender for the no.1 car trade advertising platform. I don't think they've acquired Motors to continue running it in the same way. eBay are experts at search optimisation, digital marketing and advertising and if they want to become no.1, with the money they have aswell, they can do it. They may have just bought Motors for a bit of a headstart and the URL? They'll likely change the layout and package it all together with Gumtree and eBay. Maybe a Classified ad on eBay or trade ad on Gumtree may eventually lead you through to their dedicated car platform: Motors?
  22. Dare I mention air con and compressors?!
