  1. ahh thank you i shall ask them, what a pain in the arse
  2. Hi All, Hope everyone is selling lots of cars/vans, I was wandering as on the next VAT Quarter mine will have to be done on the new MTD system, has anybody used this yet? and if so what systems are people using, i have heard that due to the VAT Margin scheme that the likes of sage etc are no good for this. Any help for a dinosaur who has just about got used to the VAT returns online (Why oh why cant they just keep it simple) Thanks
  3. Another way of getting more money out of us, be interesting to see if they put these checks on nearly new cars that are under manufacturers warranty (which is literally for BCA like printing free money), i still find it a disgrace that if you do get a refund on a vehicle because of the AA mechanical check not showing something major, that when they refund you the money, its always less the assurance check cost The joys of the motor trade
  4. Sorry Guys for the massively late reply, thank you all for your suggestions and recommendations, i did get a full refund in the end and i noticed the car was back in the next sale (with no assurance check on it), for some other poor sod to buy. I hope everyone is having a good Easter and sales are good
  5. Hi all, I have recently purchased a fiat 500 from manheim car auctions, it had a surecheck report saying the car was fine, I paid for it a few days after, got the keys and docs realised that it was an ex rental car! FML which they didn’t disclose, but when I started the car I noticed a grinding noise when the clutch was released and when driving it around their yard the car made some awful noises, I suspect a gearbox and clutch issue, probably due to the fact it was ex rental and has had a million different drivers. I didn’t tale the car and gave they keys and docs back to reception, who told me to contact surecheck, having done so they tell me that it wouldn’t be covered as it’s only a static check they do on the gearbox, this is pathetic as you cannot test a gearbox/clutch properly static, it regardless the noise is there when it is static!!!!!!! They admit the car has an issue when driving but not static, which I know is rubbish. I have wrote to them and they are still rejecting a refund, the only thing I’ve been offered is a goodwill gesture of 3 months lower indemnity rates haha, any ideas how I could fight this without getting legal thanks
