Does he expect you to carry the warranty as well say the engine or gear box goes pop two months down the line who foots the entire bill for that ? As you sold it the buck will stop with you. I hate these kind of deals never done me any good in the past.

Are buyers still looking for estate cars?
justina3 replied to metcars's topic in General Dealer Chat
but they look good in estate form so i wouldnt class them in the same bracket as say an Astra estate i dont see the same demand for old school estates these days, I put it down to a combo of better looking MPV's and vans becoming more than just a van to drive allowing people to multitask on a vehicle say a T5/6 -
I was saying the same thing only yesterday, the old tick list of customer questions has seemed to died off over the last few years. We used to get the standard tick list questions like is the car hpi clear how owners, have you had it long blah blah Adverts have come so far these days and a lot of info is already given Hpi clear how many owners ins group mpg ect almost standard on every advert these days

I use it under the boost post section there you can select your market place and who your aiming to target ie a sporty little number we select the age group different to that of a Fiat Panda system works well for us, and allows us to tailor the spend to a specific car instead of just driving random people to our page

I feel your pain, I think it's all about setting out your stall early it's almost impossible to change staff when they settle into a routine I have tried and made a rod for my back cutting the, to much slack, my partner works in a coffee house run like a milatary operation if there five mins late he docks them shifts the week after. but to answer your question yes there stealing next question is how to resolve the situation when you work out that answer please let me know

Cracking question. 1a do not look at the sales topics on this forum it is depressing if your having a quiet month. 1. You can never prep a car for sale to much 2. sometimes in auctions you have to say enough it enough tomorrow is another day 3 you cant please everyone no matter how hard you try 4 the garage will still be here tomorrow if i take half a day 5 why for the love of god dont costa express offer skinny option coffee in there machines full fat coffee takes vile

same here, yikes thats a lot of jelly beans -
I find listing them on flee bay or gumtree with the said faults gets me good results as you always find someone that isnt as pickie as me or thinks they can fix it for pennies.

I always find red to be one of the fastest selling Fords we have in, people seem to go mad for red fiestas
-
There's a bum for every seat as someone once said to me, there very popular we do really well with them a lot of people prefer the lower mileage ones but as long as it's priced right it won't last long before it's snapped up.

How do you respond to Autotrader part ex enquiry?
justina3 replied to Ocsltd's topic in General Dealer Chat
We seem to get a lot of these enqs, via gumtree, and as already mentioned if you dont follow them up dont see the point in even opening the email in the first place, I choose to ring the person if the number is supplied and often get told many thanks for making the effort to get back to me not many dealers do. So for us it is a must to follow every single lead no matter where it comes from never done us any harm. -
In my own experience they don’t, before I stopped using eBay I often used to have the retarded argument with customers who looked at a similar car to mine 150 miles away and the other car was £150 cheaper in the end I used to tell them well take the chance drive 150 miles there and 150 miles back and then hope nothing goes wrong with the car so you don’t have to take it back, where as I am 6 miles away from you……common sense isn’t common. And the feedback system used to allow for sellers to leave negative feedback for customers but eBay removed that option and then almost 99.99% guaranteed your money back if a dispute arises, we used to sell lots of items on ebay not just cars but give up in the end as there clearly not interested in dealers.

What evidence has he given to confirm the clutch is slipping or is it just his word ? a garage report / quote to confirm it is faulty?, dont think the old "good luck" carries much weight these days if he is sending recorded delivery letters already would suggest he knows his rights. On the receipt for the work carried out did it carry any warranty maybe follow that route.
-
Ebay used to be a great place to sell cars until they changed the feedback system and then defaulted to search engine from nearest first to best match all went out the window for us when they did that.

I fail to see how he can prove you put tape over the light, or you can prove he didnt i myself would call his bluff see you in court
