  1. I do ok cant complain, that said i have been going for 25 years and have hardly any overheads such as rent rates ect, not a fan of the home trader there a constant thorn in my side either when it comes to buying or selling there is always someone sitting in there living room wanting to make £100

  5. passes the time of day, whilst i am having my granny prepped for sale.
  6. Still amazes me that people fall for these scams, the website in all fairness is not to bad a lot better than some real dealers. Crazy insane situation that the police or trading standards wont act when its clearly a scam so they will happily let people get ripped off then act. yet they climbed all over me last month for my business name act details being out of date, go figure
  7. I had something similar on facebook so had to disable my review feature as there are just to many fruit cakes out there
  8. Am i guessing your not a fan of the scheme ?
  9. I know these guys are getting some bad press lately however my local Citroen dealer whom I used to buy from direct now sell all there stock through dealer auction, so my question is does dealer auction require you to be vat registered to open a buyer account ?

  11. I been having a lot of "will you do the advisory notices on the mot's latly, on a 03 polo for £995 umm nope
  12. agreed dont see the point yet i still do, dont ask me why i have no idea on what planet some people think £2995 equals an offer of £1500 cash mate i just dont get
  13. I tend to stick to a ten year rule nothing older does help anything older I find come with to many faults yet the customers still want trouble free motoring
  14. I had a Yaris do the same thing, turns out it was owned by a very old gent who never changed gears ie pull off in first get to end of road then second for another ten miles ect never went into fifth Mashed the box to bits
  15. how on earth can this happen time and time again the odds must be close to winning the lottery but i get it all the bloody time
  16. Slightly off topic, a friend I have known for years always turns over more stock than me from his house or petrol station forecourt, recently he thought the grass was greener on the other side and rented a forecourt I bumped into him on Saturday in the auctions and he has thrown the towel in already, said sales had almost halved and the amount of come backs where insane. I did feel somewhat smug then he went and out bid me on four cars.....sigh
  17. I have had cars with me so long i have bought them a birthday card and a small cake with one candle to mark the event. i feel your pain
  18. You could ask for a copy of "had investigated " but that may be a possible can of worms if its a well worded quote, is there room to meet him in the middle that's where i normally start such as you buy parts he pays for fitting, if he refuses then at least if it goes further you have shown good faith in an attempt to help him.
  19. Almost word for word we offer the same cover as Scooby who and it works well for us, the only thing we make sure of is that we always stick to the same cars we know and understand so when a problem does occur we are able to sort it pronto.
  20. Been there done that, quality of life is now what i aim for, seen a few friends of similar age sadly go to the big maker in the sky with stress far to much drinking ect Not for me i even pass on the rancid burgers they offer you in the auction houses these days
  21. I would echo the advise above, i wouldnt consider a second site unless you have a family member to run it for you or someone you trust 1000% I used to run three shops and spent my time firefighting issues daily on one sight then onto the next, the day we closed two shops down my hours went down by 50% my stress down by 100% and my bottom line up by 30% !! wish i done it years ago.
  22. Or send a copy to Zuto as there the ones asking, have you checked your t & c with Zuto to see where you stand on the query
  23. cheers for that Mr Cornish Guy do i presume that each dealer has different t & c so the duration you could be held liable for differs ? is there a general rule of thumb
  24. been watching this thread, still one niggle in my mind is the post about the finance company ringing up with a complaint from a customer months after the car warranty has run out, just wondering what's the deal regarding those circumstances.
