  1. Hiya, I'm a Mini /Lexus man, know not a great deal about these and my Mrs has ' all of a sudden ' decided she wants one. Anyone got one kicking about trade for sub £10k, nice miles good colour all the spec.... i've got champagne taste and beer money!! If not anything to watch out for?? Not fussed about petrol or diesel, preferably an Auto but not a game changer, S-Line spec too. Just a thought before I line BCA's pockets! Thanks Mat
  2. As an ex PLC bod for 18 years selling and managing in prestige dealerships, brokers were the bain of my life. I was glad to get away from it all, please don't bring it back! too may cooks and all that
  3. Traded 1 for a £700 loss, Got 1 appt on a car I wrongly told him i'd reduced! That'll make about £400. so not looking good for me either, however can only get better eh?.... I need a good June to make up for the dreadful May ( I was on holiday to be fair! )
  4. Why cant BCA put the VAT on the invoice thats what I dont understand. I know its only a few ££ a car but it all adds up!
  5. Sorry if this has been asked before. BCA Buyers Fee's are £xxx + Vat however they don't show the VAT on the invoice ( unless its a VAT Q Car ) I add the Buyers fee to the SIV ( Less the Vat ) when i'm working out my margin - so eg 8k car, £250 + Vat Fee = £8250 SIV Sell for £10k, Vatable margin is £1750. I asked BCA and they confirmed that the fee's are qualifying however they just don't show on the invoice. I'm sat with my accountant now and we are slightly confused as to wether was can do it this way. What do you guys do? Ta Mat

  7. Sub £2k stuff no problem, anything else I don't bother so for the amount we do I just pay individually ( £10 if i remember ) As per above - 3 am texts - BST PRC 4 CASH M8 innit
  8. I have the free package - sold 2/3 cars from it, they have trialled me twice and both times i get less enquiries when signed up go back on the free package and sold another 2/3 I saved my £££ in my opinion. 9/10 of the enquiries never ever reply, even after 4/5 emails and also after replying to them within minutes. I also notice that the enquiries come in waves, you don't get one for weeks, then 3/4 in a 2 day period. Almost makes you thing every time you get an 'official' enquiry, someones boosting a few more through to make you think you're on to a winner.......maybe a reason for the poor response rate? I also don't really like the concept of it telling me how well priced /overpriced my stock is ( at least Autotrader just put nothing rather than HIGH PRICE ) they take nothing into account about the condition, history, dealer services etc... Also i'm not really keen on the general public knowing how long i've had my cars for. Just my 10p...

Gutted ( well almost, as I was in California ) to have missed this by 2 days! Just my luck as I missed the awards too by 1 day ( as I was in Mexico ) I think I holiday too much.
  11. Try IWOCA - ( Instant working capital ) Expensive but if you want to borrow £20k for a few days etc it works out great for me. Just helps with cash flow. I also use BCA now too but have a slightly different set up than you ( run from a small secured unit )
  12. I can vouch for Car Dealer 5 - I am no computer programmer and they helped me no end. Nice easy guys to deal with too and Great price. www.superminiuk.com
  13. It was Close, However they took so long to get me set up that I went with MotoNovo in the end. Great easy company to deal with

Hi Umesh, Where did you get the fish eye 360 camera from, looks great? Mat
  15. i'm going on holiday for a few weeks, might leave it till after I get back.... Leave her hanging. Really annoys me how I was willing to help and then BAM they expect everything and completely go about it the wrong way and obviously been to trading standards or citizens advice and been told to do one and then come crawling for my offer. I'm a big believer in looking after my customers but this one just riles me. I'll leave it till I get back!
  16. How weird, she should email me today!!!! I stood firm and offered her £250 goodwill and after the 3rd time she wrote to me demanding the whole amount, she reduced it to £600. I stood firm again and basically said my final offer was £250 and she had 7 days to accept it. She emailed me today ( 6 weeks later ) saying she's been away for 3 weeks and has decided not to take me to court ( SHOCK ) and that she'll accept my £250. I'm undecided what to do, I clearly gave her 3 opportunities to take my goodwill and told her on several occasions that she was not going to win by taking me to court. I guess I can refuse to give the £250 now as 6 weeks have passed and she's had the car now for over 5 months.
  17. Same here. £1300 Beetle sold and 2 months and 2000 miles later i get a call saying its broken down. Its at the garage. I said no probs, whats the mileage now..... I don't know..... I tell you what, i'll call the garage. I spoke to them, he explained it had a clogged oil strainer or something and that it'd starved the engine and was going to be about a £1000 job. Whats the mileage I asked politely. I'll let you know tomorrow he said. I hear nothing for 4 days and then customer texts me the £1100 invoice and asks for a resolution as she's out of pocket after having the car repaired!
  18. I spoke too soon, not a sausage this week and we have only managed to buy 1 as auction prices are ridiculous this week. Hey ho, Suns out and beer gardens calling............
  19. Absolutely Brilliant start for us. 1 Carry over done on the 31st. 3 Sold yesterday all decent deals and 2 on finance 1 Done just now so sat on 5 on the 2nd! All costs covered for the month, everything else is now the cream. I like cream, dirty calorific cream. Ill eat the lot. Now I need stock too, I've got nowt!
  20. I too struggle with cheapies, I used to advertise them as no warranty and all faults declared, have them safety checked and sold at a trade price. Done alright until a nightmare one in February and sick of the 'bst price 4 cash m8' texts and dozens of unkept appointments, I decided to find a trader, who was recommended to me. After the first one he had collected, I got the call saying the seat base was slightly worn ( on an 09 plate qashqai done 150,000! ) 2nd car he had a £800 04 plate Mini Cooper, had it collected, a week later calls me saying head gasket is not good and it wasn't as described!!!!!! What am I going to do about it?? its an £800 Mini that caps at £1100 and was described within an inch of its life... I'm not a mechanic, but it started, stopped, no noises and no fluid p1ssing out of the bottom of it. I cant win, I'm going back to just chucking them out at trade money and describing ( over describing ) every fault, nick scratch and dent.
  21. Good luck, We started out the same 18 mths ago. Trading from home, now have a unit 15/16 cars and selling on average 13 a month. 125 cars sold in my first year and turned a double figure profit after costs. Mrs quit her job and now work together, forecasting to sell an additional 50, but now with finance and a few extras, profits ( should ) double. Its a great laugh, long hours, but the flexibility this gives me and having 2 young kids that id never have time to be with before, this was the best decision I ever made ( had forced upon me! ) This forum has helped me no end, everyone seems friendly and approachable and also theres some great advice on here. Also when you haven't sold anything for a week you can sit crying at everyone else pulling up trees! Patience and gradual growth is my advice, we now have 2 stocking partners, 3 finance brokers and a host of subcontractors that make our cogs turn smoothly. Our next venture is to move units and have somewhere with a ramp and that we can prep ourselves, as I wince at the amount I pay out to my local garage, who incidently are a local chain, owned by a family who smoke around in Lambo's, Bentleys and RRover Sports..... there's a reason why... Having a main dealer background all my life, i've been PLC'd to death and bring a lot of what I was taught into my own business. I just don't have to deal with d1ckhead franchise directors and manufacturer suits anymore If you need any help with anything, give me a shout. And best of luck
  22. I Paid wayyyyy into book for a mini there, crazy prices!!!
  23. Its all about the money shot!!
  24. 5 for the week which is good for me, Some nice new stock sold with decent margin and 2 nice finance deals too. Need to buy more next week to keep up. Had 4 people all enquire on the same car too, 2011 Countryman Cooper SD, beautiful car, great colour and spec but still not sold it. So next week i'm sure it'll be gone, got some decent enquiries bubbling too.
