  1. Hiya, Yes the neighbours are much happier now!! Struggling to cope on my own sometimes, however have Malcolm the dog for company! Onwards and upwards, good to hear people doing well
  2. Thanks Its been tough, but so rewarding. I am a better person for it and I see more of my kids. Loving life, So much more positive than i ever was too! ( think i'm still drunk from last night )
  3. We've been nominated for BEst Newcomer and Best small dealer under 50 cars. I am ABSOLUTELY GUTTED that I cant go as I will be on my way to Mexico. If it was only the night before...... Looking forward to the results, to be honest, just being shortlisted has made my year..... from selling a few off my driveway last year to now - WOW what a difference. Good luck to all.
  4. Just not trade plates yet!!
  5. I have tv's but no ariel. I have had a letter stating that if you watch Iplayer then you are liable for the license - i run a firestick in both my tvs for netflix for the kids, but as it has iplayer on i took the pill.
  6. There's a daily rate you can use or £ per mile i'm sure I remember using this years ago when a customer tried to back a golf we sold him at Lexus. Its on the gov website i'm sure
  7. Lawgistics all the way - I use their administered warranties and I cannot fault them. Sounds a bit whiffy - black tape over the light etc.... but to be honest, for £560 why don't you just repair the fault and then send him on his way - take it on the chin and move on..
  8. did 2 yesterday and then another sat at home last night just been accepted on finance... Monday nights seem to be my best time!!! 9 for the month, all healthy profits and now just some cheap tradies to shift..
  9. Not a Sausage since last sat then today 3 done - one after the other 58 Cooper been in stock 4 days YELLOW fiat 500 63 cooper coupe puts me on 7 now so much happier than i was yesterday
  10. Not nice really, seeing as some of us have been in that boat - and ( hopefully not ) some might end up in that boat. Guess i'm a lover, not a fighter
  11. Not a sausage this week! and only dross enquiries on my Pink Beetle! Got 6 cars on their way, so that'll keep me busy till the weekend.
  12. The use their own funds I believe for Rate for Risk anyway?
  13. I heard rumblings a few weeks ago through the grapevine. Also, disappointingly, some other well known local garages taking pleasure in their demise, and airing this on social media which I find distasteful, as we are all in this game to get by, yes we are all essentially competitors, but theres enough business for all of us and no one wants to see people out of work, businesses folding etc... Like many more before and i'm sure many more after, I guess they'll dust themselves off, have a week of sitting around thinking 'what next?' and then do it all over again, its like a drug this industry.... i'm hooked! but taking it slowly. I have dreams of a 200 car empire, but slowly slowly... Onwards and upwards i'm off for a brew..
  14. I am of a similar mind with this. I wouldn't pay for it ( on my second free trial now ) and I get less leads from this when i've been on the trails, so my view is, keep the free listings My website feeds it, I get 4/5 emails a month of which 2/3 turn into deals, i'd never pay their daft asking price of circa £250 per month. The analytics side of it is quite interesting, however looking at spreadsheets and graphs all day doesn't get that 2008 mini cooper clean that needs pictures........ so i'm off
  15. I will echo this Super fast set up, easy paltform to prop and quote and best of all, i've had 3 'dead' finance deals turn into deals - so they've already proved their worth. Not the most commissions however when they are lending rate for risk i don't really gripe! Top rep to deal with too. Win Win
  16. Can you sort mine please pal Much appreciated
  17. I started with 1 carry over - Then sat in my pants on Monday night had 3 enquiries 1 after the other within 5 mins - 1 a dreamer - the other 2 dealt over email after an hour of twoing and froing and both were propped on finance that night - Both accepted first thing yesterday morning - Happy days - great start.
  18. Finished on 17 for the month and 1 into next. Not too bad to say I only carry stock of 10/12 cars at a time. My best month yet, achieved my profit target and maintained my 5 star reviews. Also my average days in stock down to 19 based on what i've sold this month. Papa Johns and a San Miguel for me tonight!
  19. 3 More last week, puts me on 16 for the month which is my best month this year. Only got 5 cars in my unit now with 6 on their way - expecting a quiet week full of valeting PLUS have the kids all day weds as its half term!
  20. To be honest, i'd probably do the same, so i'd annoy myself!! ha ha Been a quiet day today!
  21. I check every car, even before i've bought it! I understand they're not buying a loaf of bread, but when I say, its HPI clear and then they go and check, its kinda annoying.
  22. All buyers are liars. One of my very first bosses used to say to me... "If the man comes in from outside and says its raining, check his coat and make sure its wet" I have more stories about lying customers than i've had hot dinners ( and i've had a lot of them ) Check, check and check again. They do it to us, one that gets me is when I advertise and tell all my customers my cars are HPI checked and I have the certificate etc... and then they still go and get a check done themselves. Thats basically just saying 'you're a lying bastard and I don't trust you one inch'
  23. You cant take a non refundable deposit due to distance selling regualtions surely? I take £100 'reservation fee' which becomes a deposit once the customer confirms on site. I think its only fair if someones travelling to give them first refusal. I'd take the mans £100, call him when the car arrives, give him first refusal, if he doesn't buy, call the other 2 and offer the same. Love having customers fighting over cars!! ha ha
