  1. I Paid wayyyyy into book for a mini there, crazy prices!!!
  2. Its all about the money shot!!
  3. 5 for the week which is good for me, Some nice new stock sold with decent margin and 2 nice finance deals too. Need to buy more next week to keep up. Had 4 people all enquire on the same car too, 2011 Countryman Cooper SD, beautiful car, great colour and spec but still not sold it. So next week i'm sure it'll be gone, got some decent enquiries bubbling too.
  4. Done 2 this morning, 1 CF24/7 deal that wipes its nose, but its my oldest car in stock and its gone...... Another , car been in stock 6 days and sold full up. lovely. I reckon its going to be a good week/end
  5. 5 last week, not a sausage this week. I have been out buying, stock is best i've had, all beauties, my ad views are up 100% but no ones buying off me!! grrrrrrrr I had a mare yesterday too. 1st customer turns up, proper enthusiast, looking at my 2004 cooper S 'project car' that i've spent £££ on making look like a boy racer mobile - leaves the doors open for 20 mins while we chew the fat.... battery flat.... great, boost him, he takes it 1/2 mile up the road and smells burning. Brings it back with what can only be described as a horses tail hanging out of the exhaust, pretty much on fire... by all accounts its the insides of the brand fricking new exhaust coming out. I like a tw4t try to pull it out and burn my hand on the molten lava stuff thats just come out the exhaust. Doh! 2nd one arrives as this is all happening... me wincing as he shakes my hand and nearly makes me cry.. proper car geek guy. All over the 60 plate cooper S thats been in stock 10 minutes. Videoing it, taking pics, amazing car, love it,...... need to speak to the wife... I've already missed one cos of dithering... We agree a deal on his px... I'll call you Tuesday mate. Argghhhh Pray I sell it to someone else now. 3rd one arrives just as he's leaving, un announced driven an hour to see my oldest car in stock... light at the end of the tunnel. Guess what, flat tyre and another friggin flat battery, after i'd re valeted it this week, I must have left something on. I feel a right chump. Boost it, Test drive and he leaves the mrs chatting to mine. alls good, we get back, chat figures, loves the car, best one he's seen.... off to think about it. ARGHHHHHHH! I couldn't close a door this week. And to top it off, i decided to not have a beer last night, so couldn't even drown my sorrows. Anyway, todays another day.......
  6. Got a roll over deal and traded a swapper for what it owes me. Bought 7 though in the last 7 days so aiming for a nice weekend. Got 2 good appointments and by tomorrow all pics done and everything nice and shiny... I'm ahead of last year in both Jan and feb, so i'm happy with that, but already 9 cars behind my 'budget' Must.......try........harder......
  7. Basic Maths £15000 / 12 = £1250 Profit per month £1250 / 5 Cars per month ( 1 a week part time ) = £250 Profit per unit However 60 cars a year at circa £2000 per car = £120,000 turnover so you'll need to VAT registered. Autotrader 5 cars per month circa £400 a month Gumtree another £100 So to take £250 per car after Vat/prep/Advertising from a £2000 car I think you'd be doing well Also this is before - Screamers/Consumer Protection act/Lawsuits/Warranty claims/people turning up with a broken down car kicking your door in.... etc - of which there'll be plenty in that kind of market Just my 10p worth.....
  8. 11 Days I think mine was done ( sorry ) but I was told could be upto 6 Months
  9. Personally I would price it to sell it ASAP. I was educated in PLC businesses and we would have a strict 30/60/90 day stocking policy. Premium Price for the first 10 days after its advertised, check weekly against the market ( sometimes increasing the price ) if its still there a few weeks later and approaching 60 days re price, re picture and re describe. After that its gotta be gone by 90 days ( otherwise we got a £1000 fine ) so we priced it cheapest in the UK and got it gone. I still instill this myself in my own business and have an average days in stock of around 25 days. I have around 110% stock turn. If I have a £5000 car sat for 3 months I always think there's something else I can invest that £5k in to make a few ££ get the ££ back in the bank and move on ( and learn....... always learning ) My 10p worth anyway
  10. Ended up buying one back, however have found another car for him, so alls good and sold 2 yesterday too so actually not a bad week all in all. I must say I did sink a few brewski's on Saturday night and that gave everything a slightly different perspective... there are worse jobs I could have I guess!! New week and new start. Positive thinking breeds positive results.....
  11. the wife, hell no.... This one's my girlfriend, makes a difference!! ha ha
  12. see the next one the email from the PCO was about a month ago!! I guess i'd saved it in drafts!! ha ha Also weird how my ex wife is called fay and I send off for my decree absolut for the divorce this week! Spooky spelling error.......
  13. I love my job, can't beat it, but this last week has taken its pound of flesh ( I have plenty to spare ) Mrs started with me on Monday, extra pair of hands, alls going to be excellent and hunky dory. Then - 7, YES 7 Warranty claims / problems including a £1000 bill on a £1600 beetle and an immobiliser on a Mini that wont let the car start so looking like a buy back - I haven't had 7 claims in a year, let alone a week!!!! Sold my oldest car in stock and made about £2.50 on my first Car finance 24/7 deal Moved house so living out a suitcase and have boxes of crap everywhere that i didn't realise I had Car I sold Friday last week being collected Thursday, so I decide to smash it into my roller shutter door when reversing it out thinking about the stunning week i'm already having - £200 damage Caught a cold Put on weight Drank too much beer and wine Not started training for that half marathon i have in September Can I just go to bed and not wake up till Monday please!
  14. weird, I was trying to start n new topic and then it auto saved to this. can someone delete please? error........
  15. Just venting.... Had this email from the local PCO....
  16. I have a 15 car unit that i work out of, I open when I want and work on an appointment only basis. However i base myself at the unit 6 days a week so catch the odd walk in and the rest of the time work from home I do all my own cleaning/fetching/carrying/buying/website etc... but i'm struggling to keep up, to keep it flowing and iron out the peaks and troughs. I sold 125 cars last year on my own, but I missed probably 25/30 as I wasn't there/couldn't make it in time/car not clean clean/car not photo'd etc.. So i reckon i've lost approx £125,000 worth or turnover because i'm on my tod. even with small margins thats ££££ down the toilet. My Mrs starts with me on Monday - quit her job and we are going it as a twosome ( we've worked together for 6 years prior so I don't worry about the whole working/living together bit!! ) I can't wait. Someone else ( other than the dog ) to speak to, motivate me tell me to get off my ass but more so another pair of hands, someone else to speak to the billys as they always seem to rock up at the same time. I'm budgeting for 175 sales this year because I know we can turn stuff quicker when its in, clean, photo'd, website etc... basics that seem to take a back seat whilst I sit here drinking coffee looking on the internet.... oh wait - Better get of my backside! Good luck to you all. Sometimes we need it, but I always say, if you acknowledge how luckyu you are, you get luckier - Im the luckiest guy in the world!
  17. Lawgistics for me -0 £16 a go and fully administered by them - simple dealer portal to register and I just keep the pot myself... until theres a claim of course..... which there inevitably will be...
  18. I got my license sorted in 11 days.. to be fair i had a finance company rep come and help me with the application, as it would have taken me a few hours to complete and he sorted it in less than an hour. Permission granted!! you just need to keep remembering to check gabriel for updates!!
  19. I cant buy these fast enough - Cooper S 57-60 plates go in days however they are VERY unreliable 2010 onwards cooper D's will sell all day - problem is alot of these are used by sole traders/painter decorator types that use them as vans, so most are sh1t up to high heaven. I have sold every one i've had quickly, but i'm very picky when purchasing. On subject, I went on holiday so was shut for effectively 2 weeks, had 2 trade cars sold being collected on my return and then i've done 4 mini's this week and am waiting for my 2 o clock ( now 2.25!! grrrrrr ) for the 5th of the week hopefully. I would have been happy to do 6 for the month with Christmas and being off for a fortnight, but i'm thinking can at least get to double figures. Desperate for stock though!
  20. That I get more Leads through Cargurus when I am not on the free trail Ha ha.
  21. Santander for me - First year free, easy set up, only problem i've had is increasing my overdraft - so only have a poxy £1000 I have 3 accounts linked, warranty, current and also a savings ( which is constantly empty! ) Been great for me - app, faster payments, easy to use website ( not needing war and peace to log in, but secure enough to give peace of mind )
  22. Ha ha, Love it, You'll be 5 deep in Mini's now you've had a minter!!
  23. 9/10 never answer Not enough for my px is usually the answer from the ones that do - and yes they are suprised to hear from you. i'm guessing they use AT as a pricing tool for their PX and then crap their pants when the get bid in the cahones for it, similar to WBAC I imagine.
  24. Got my first ever reply from one of these yesterday!!! As Umesh said. Polite speedy response does no harm i call, text and email each and every one
