  1. Great stuff thanks for that
  2. And if not done online? Does nobody sign the current registered keeper box as the log book has it as the previous owner?
  3. Who signs the registered keeper on section 8? With the log book registered keeper being the previous owner.
  4. Struggling to get insurance due to main occupation being contract hire and leasing. Questions. Based on buying and selling just one car at a time... Can I buy a car via my motor company that doesn't have traders insurance as we never see the cars so don't require it? (We simply broker the finance and order with dealers, who then deliver to customer) Can I then insure it personally to use and sell to a potential buyer with the V5 staying with the company until a sale is made?
  5. Thanks for the reply Max. when the trader sells, and get the new owner to fill out the v5, who signs section 8 as the registered keeper? As the registered keeper showing on section 5 is no longer the registered keeper in the eyes of the dvla. The yellow slip doesn't ask for a name of the trader either. It simply asks for a business name. So who would sign declaration in section 8?
  6. Hi all Please can someone explain in simple step by step what happens with the v5 when a private inidividual sells to a trader? Seeing some very conflicting stories online and cannot find a thread. I understand the yellow slip goes away to the DVLA. But does the trader get a fresh V5 back? Will it log the trader as an owner? What does the trader retain? What does the trader use when selling the vehicle on etc...
  7. Did a fresh application last year and never gave a business plan.
  8. Yes 7 years motor sales experience. More in general sales. Plenty of patience, commitment and money too. Just never been fully hands on with used stock and don't know the little bits like warranty and best insurances. This forum seems very good though so having a good read through some old posts
  9. Hi all So I am looking to set up a used car business and just reaching out for some basic advice on the necessities. Trade insurance - who do you use? Recommnend? Hints and tips? Warranties - I believe a warranty must be provided for 6 months after the sale? Who do you use? Do you always use third party company or expect the chance of having to stand on returns/repair costs yourself? Any hints tips Pricing - am I right to say CAP Black book trade price for buying, and Glasses retail price for selling? Any hints tips. Any feedback and and discussions would be great. Cheers MC
