  2. I'll stay open at midnight if it means selling a car. I've been bitten a few times though, Once I opened up on a bank holiday Monday, the day we were going on holiday and Packing... Customer called to confirm they were coming, be there at 1... I have to go by 2 as i'm driving to Heathrow.... Yep we'll be there for 1..... never heard from em again! You can imagine the Mrs face when I rocked up at 2.15 with no order form.... still go to the airport in time

I'll second Airvidox, we got a free sample from a rep and it sat in valet cupboard for about a year, I used it in a BMW we took in PX that reeked of Marlbro about a fortnight ago, I did make the mistake of breathing some in, Jeez i nearly died, our whole unit smelt like a swimming pool, next day car smelt of chlorine, and no smoke smells at all, 2 weeks later still fresh as we had it back in off the customer for some work.

    Movex

    I'm on holiday, Bought 7 cars the other day online ( all from 7 different auctions!! ) I stuck all 7 on Movex - 5 I got no quotes in 24 hrs... So i resorted to BCA's charges ( which weren't too bad to be honest ) and the other 2 were ridiculous. Seems the time of the month has struck.
  11. I had the (mis) fortune of working for these clowns. Rammel stock, badly prepped, legal paperwork piled up on desks, raping customers at 10 flat with GAP/PAINT/TYRE/ALLOY without disclosing, how they are still in business is beyond me.... don't get me started on their car store places with microphones on the desks so that they could listen to customers.. I've seen the shite they will sell off their forecourts, hence the reason i'll NEVER buy a car from a Pendragon sale at BCA.

In reality, you've got a bobby basic Mini that will appeal to first time buyers, but young girls like the Ice blue colour or Red for some reason. I have also found that people are avoiding diesel Minis too. I would - Stick some black stripes on the bonnet, Wrap the roof black ( £200 ) Paint the god awful pepper pots black ( £140 ) - OR - but some nice 17" Black Mini Alloys ( £350 ish ) and it will shift...
  14. I think it washes out around £50 a car if its assured........ x 100 cars a year = £5k saving PLUS - you get half price breakfast.... which has meant i've needed to buy bigger trousers...

I have gone platinum with BCA for the last year, I have bought 2 cars out of Manheim in 3 1/2 years of trading, their website is garbage in my opinion, at least in BCA if iI search JOHN COOPER WORKS i get all the Mini JCW stock, in Manheim, I get a mini cooper and a John deere tractor.... great. I can't be bothered learning how their site works, its not friendly ( to me anyway ) and I get bored of trying to make it work properly and lose interest very quickly. I guess it proves ( at least to me ) that website functionality is very important.

  17. All of next week is pretty much £49 with Flybe from EMA to Edinburgh. even the early flights. We usually get lucky and bid on the weds / thurs and then fly up on the Friday morning. Auction is 10/15 mins brisk walk from the airport. I usually get to the airport 30 mins before the flight, hand luggage straight through security and then hop on the plane with a coffee, by the time it've drank it, time to get off the plane and head off to auction. Easy peasy
  18. Yes, EMA to edinburgh is usually around £39 ish. gets you there before 10 am and then a steady 5 1/2 hours home.

In my experience Enfield = at least an hour to collect, rude punters pushing in, plus being spoken to like a chimp by any staff member Walsall = as someone says, needs levelling, its disgusting, reminds me of a mental asylum ( **shudder** ) Derby = Same as above ( Sh1thole ) Perry Barr = Always friendly ( unless you get that dark haired girl on the front desk, she's a b!tch ) , best breakkie too, but never enough staff to help you get your car = at least 30 mins wait Nottingham = Best auction by a mile ( and its 2 miles away ) Friendly, great staff, always get your car within 5 mins. Blackbushe = Just Massive. Bedford = Good set up, friendly staff and usually out within 20 mins Belle Vue = For some reason all my cars I've ever got from here have had a problem, usually flat tyres, they must leave nails lying around everywhere. Edinburgh = Super close to airport and always very helpful - but usually its pissing down

We've been trialling it last year as the same company, we invested in a ramp, tyre machine, balancer, diag equipment etc. its just been run alongside the same company. it all goes into autosales and sage and spits out our profit / loss at the end of the year. We wanted to be a little more precise, so were calculating daily our service income now hence my question initially. It was a hypothetical question.. i put it as a simple example. and please use "multi award winning" in future We use Comma 5w30 oil and bosch filters..

  24. Apologies if this sounds like i'm being a retard, but I'm confusing myself with what profit i'm making from my service side of things. I understand the P&L side of sales and the Vat margin scheme etc, however this example below which one is correct? Sell a service to a customer for £200 ( INC VAT ) Cost of said service was £50 INC VAT ( Materials and Labour ) and YES i'm VAT Registerd Is my margin A. £200 inc minus £50 inc = £150 B. £200 inc minus £41.66 net = £158.34 C £166.67 net minus £41.66 net = £125.00 D neither you stupid arse, you've got it wrong, go home via the pub.   25. I've just taken a 15 plate 35000 mile C220d Coupe in PX against a 11 Plate 85000 mile countryman Cooper S Petrol. Chap lives in the new ULEZ zone... seems a few are offloading, but i'll welcome them up here in Notts. I've had a few locals question diesel recently, as Nottingham are imposing a ULEZ before 2020 by all accounts.
