  1. Hi All, I am looking for a website provider that will provide a really good looking website (dont mind if its from a template), and that allows you to load the cars easily (getting vehicle data from DVLA / UKVEHICLEDATA). I would like the standard options / extras to be populated too so that the customer can view a high quality informative stock page. Either a cloud based solution, or a solution using Wordpress with plugins / theme. Many thanks in advance.
  2. Hi All Im fairly new to this so not sure if this is the right place to post but we are considering launching a new platform for car dealers all over the UK. The question is what do you actually want and how much are you willing to pay for it? There has been a lot of negative feedback about the price of Auto Trader etc... but what is it you guys actual want/ need ? No point re-inventing the wheel or creating something now one is interested in so to cut through all the BS.. What do you want (in as much detail as you can) How much do you want to pay (A number please)
  3. Hi, I was hoping to get some help. I am moving into the modern world and I need a website. I have been doing some research into companies that create car dealer website, but I'd like some personal opinions rather than lots of sales pitches. The companies I've found are: - Spidersnet - Dragon200 - GForces - Autoweb Design If anyone has had any past experiences with these companies can you please let me know who's the best? If there are better companies that I haven't mentioned please let me know. It's a bit of a minefield and I don't really know where to start!!

  5. Hi, I am a small car dealership looking for an affordable website solution. I am not very internet savvy but acknowledge the importance of having a good website and reaching out to people online. I wondered if you could all help me? How do I go about getting a website sorted for my business? What provider does everyone else use, and why? I need my website to be found online too so I imagine i'll need some sort of marketing to go alongside. Any ideas??

  7. Hi All, I am looking to get some input from dealers as to what they look for when they purchase Dealer Management Software. I am a software developer and I have developed a Dealer Management System. But I would like to know what kind of features you would look for to compel you to purchase such a system? I have already got the following features which are: Unlimited Vehicle Listings Unlimited Pictures Per Vehicle Add Vehicle By Registration Plate Customer Area eMail Marketing Tools Scheduled Email Marketing Campaigns (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) Integration with Facebook Customisable Page Content Search Engine Optimised Automatic Updates at No Extra Cost Import and Export Stock Listings And I have plans to implement the following features: Live Chat Facilities Finance Integration Pay a Deposit with Paypal Customer Relationship Management Tools Auto Generation of a PDF Info Sheet Detailed Stock Info - (Cost Price, Supplier, MOT History, Service History etc) Invoice & Finance Management Visitor Stats and Reporting I was just wondering what else people might like to see, so I can add them to my development roadmap, and what features you think are most important so I can prioritse what I build. The system is currently being tested and is in the process of all bugs being repaired so its ready for general release. If anyone wants to try out this software free of charge, I would be happy to set them up with a website so you can have a play with it and give me feedback. I would also be interested to know what software you currently use, and what it would take for you to change to a different supplier. I plan to sell this for a £250 per annum license which covers the cost of hosting, support, email accounts and unlimited updates. I would be interested to hear what you have been paying for your websites to make sure I am in the right area in terms of cost. Any and all feedback, good or bad would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks Andrew Arscott
  8. Hi Everyone, My name is Scott and I am here for some input from you guys towards a car dealer platform that I am currently developing. I am a young web developer and I am in the early stages of creating a platform that will allow car dealers to have their own website to display their current stock. I am looking for information on what additional features a car dealer would want from such platform and I thought what better place to come for some experienced insight than here. So what features would you like to have on such a platform? These may be features that are already out there (on platforms such as clickdealer) or totally new concepts that you think would make this platform of more value to you as a dealer or even help save time. This doesn't only need to be related to features, it could be how you would like the website to look etc. Please feel free to let your imagination run wild as all it can do is help me in creating a platform that will be of value to you guys. For those that already have a website, tell me what do you love about it? what do you dislike about it? What could make it better? I would like to stay in touch with you all throughout the development of this platform and keep you informed of releases and even partner up with some of you to try out the platform so you can let me know what you think about it. Ideally I want to provide a product that is of great value, and ease of use at a great price. I hope to hear from you guys soon. Regards, Scott
  9. OK Some of you wan't to stay anonymous [ for your own reasons , privacy and all that .. or part time MI5 functions] but personally I think it would be good if everyone on here showed their Name / web link / email / tel no as a minimum ? may be picture if you want and twitter name ! just so that every can get to know a bit more about the other business ? Any Thoughts ? umesh
  10. Quick Question - I get a bit carried away taking lots of pictures of all the cars , some up to 40 Images ! Obviously all this takes a lot of time not only taking the actual pictures but rescaling - naming them all. Is there a faster way ? what does everyone else do ? I know autos on show have a system where you literally walk around the car with a camera it does a video and then make approx. 10 images automatically - great for a big operation but not cost effective for someone like me. Any suggestions/ help appreciated!
  11. I'm planning a feature on the importance of video to dealers in a forthcoming issue of Car Dealer. I'd love to hear how you use video in your business. Have you got a video introduction to your showroom on your website? Do you use video to showcase your cars? Do you have a YouTube channel and is it important to drive traffic to your site? How do you think dealers should be using video now and in the future? I'll be interested to hear your thoughts and will use the best comments as part of my feature. Thanks for your input!
