The vendors usually wait until the whole sale can be analysed before they'll decide on provs. I'd imagine these days vendors treat the auction houses with the same contempt as the auction houses treat bidders so as a prov buyer you're at the bottom of the pile

I used to run an old Japanese 4x4 as a daily driver. It was unstoppable and racked up huge mileage. I think you'll find that guys that drive those old things would pay £2k tax a year and still not worry. My opinion of course (and what is the internet without opinions)

I reckon if you parked a soft top BMW/Mercedes/Audi in a Lidl car park with a for sale sign it would be gone in an hour!

...... or is it. Open top cars used to mean a small two seater sports car, probably getting on a bit and leaking oil. But now it means something German and with four seats usually driven by a middle aged couple. But, can you really look cool driving a four seater open car without looking like Hitler on a 'parade'?

It's not so much where the cars come from but the shocking condition of said cars. Whether they trade them in to xyz motors in the high st or WBAC they are still poorly maintained and close to death?
