  1. I wonder how long before they don't even bother giving you a 'print out' of the MOT certificate?
  2. You don't know how true that is
  3. My ex-wife ran a car hire business years ago. There are some big sharks swimming in those waters?
  4. All that's in the 'secret' room
  5. Come to think of it, we've not been asked to complete a 'survey' for ages either?
  6. Customer Service = oxymoron?
  7. I sort of argued against have a 'secret' room some I'm stuck out in the wilderness FOREVER!
  8. There's still a ready market for them, even the 'bangers'; and yes, when those speaker wires short it throws all sorts of errors. Back in the day you used to be able to buy door shut repair looms from Vauxhall but not sure if that's still the case. Funnily enough I had to change a ABS pump on one too
  9. I had a zafira where all 5 doors needed wiring repairs, not only the locking but the speakers wires shorting had screwed up the head unit
  10. I agree, and personally I think that they are full to bursting with stock? One of the yardmen that I've known for years admitted that they've had to rent storage space around the local area? Or at least the sites I attend. I wonder if they might be 'drip feeding' us!
  11. Putting the rogue thing to one side for a moment, he had some nice bits there?
  12. Not a million miles from Bedford. She's had it picked up today so its off the system.
  13. The reserve was set up the auction house, and the offer was about £1k under. They have refused to re enter it as they say they are full to bursting and if she does wants to re enter she has to physically remove it from the auction premises and bring it back again at some point? They have refused to put it through more than one 'physical' sale? Wierd? It's not my sort of thing but a 16 plate petrol clio should make its money, shouldn't it?
  14. It's interesting to see how 'privates' are treated. I can't understand why they would not want to keep running it through bearing in mind it's sort of how they earn their money? PS: This is why I do NOT get involved in cars with family/friends!
  15. My ex wife has had an interesting experience with running her car through the block. After a long term battle with cancer she has had to give up driving and decided to stick her car through as a quick painless way to get the cash out of it. A '16 plate Clio she's owned from new. Auction house told her 'no bids' and that they've had one offer £1k under her reserve. Also, they refused to re enter the car through another sale? To say I'm surprised is an understatement. Especially considering it's a genuine straight car and how much money 'shitters' are making?
  16. Ironically, it's the tyres that make these things perform. Giving a large 4x4 vehicle off road ability is easy, whereas making it go fast on tarmac is hard. Same with Porsche Cayanne, the magic is in the tyres?
  17. At least you didn't have to call the Police because they started hitting one another!
  18. Yeah i've heard something similar. I'm guessing that they allow you a certain amount of time before you'd have to SORN. Depends what car and what work's needed to pass?
  19. Had a nice young lady in today punting a 11 plate Corsa. Its MOT expired had yesterday. I explained to her that she's playing russian roulette and should take it seriously, apparently she's reluctant to spend the money fixing a car she no longer wants. Afterwards I wonder whether a car with a failed MOT continues to be elligible for monthly VED or does it only have to have a current MOT when the direct debit is first set up? I assume it's also a condition of her insurance that the car is MOT'd and road legal and if she's stopped by the Police they'll know this?
  20. Yeah, I know....? But can anyone 'personally' recommend an online service they've dealt with?
  21. I think you was supposed to reply "oh, go on, please but it; well I'll knock £500 off?"
