Wow, that's going back a bit. I bought a new one of those for my old dad. It would be interesting to see what the age demographic is on this forum. I'm guessing we're all over 40 as the youngster wouldn't be straying this far from FB? I might have to start a thread about pensions?

you'll fund the all on AT! The ratty overpriced sheds just find their way onto the market. And on 'proper' sites too not layby's?

zafira 1.9 cdti to buy or not to buy....

I agree with you, but a surprising number of diesel zafs are used as minicabs. Or at least down my way they are. And 'usually' minicab drivers learn what cars to avoid pretty quickly, as if its unreliable you wont be earning? -
Oh, the one where the punter calls to say the 'new' belt tensioner failed?

Even 'Jesus' was betrayed? There'll always be someone who's twitching a curtain

I've mentioned before about a guy on the corner of my road. His 'stock' has now expanded out of his corner plot and into my road. Cars in various states of repair runners/non runners. He does mechanical repairs, bodywork and rebuilds salvage. He sometimes brings home breakdowns on his truck. At all times of the night too. He is a Polish guy and up until recently only seemed to deal with other Polish people. Or at least that's what I've seen. He does not appear to advertise anywhere that I can find so it could be FB or postcards in the newsagent. And none of his cars have for sale signs in them. He only seems to trade the usual eastern european favourites ie Merc/Audi/BMW/VW. I have a parade of shops about a mile from my house. About 50 shops in length with free parking. I've noticed a few cars for sale, 2 or 3 spaced out down the street with the same style of signs in the windscreen. I'll see how long before the council slap a sticker on them!.

In my opinion they are doing this in a passive aggressive manner to let you know that they know? IMO generally, people that cause problems are the ones that are friendly to your face. I think it's referred to as 'the mafia kiss'?

I had a punter here a few days back bought a focus. When we were doing the paperwork i said to him "there's loads of these on the market, what made you pick this one?" He said, "I knew I'd buy this, as soon as you answered the phone and i heard you weren't Asian!" I don't think the guy was just being racist, I think he felt that Asian business men can be tough to deal with and will haggle to the point of killing a deal.

This, years ago I 'smoked' around in one of these for a few weeks. Used it all over the place and up and down the motorway. It only had a couple of thousand miles on the clock and it was a shed. Horrible engine, horrible gearchange, heavy clutch. It's amazing that what is such a small car could be such hard work. I'm guessing the key to owning cars of this type is to be young, fit and like loud music!

I think you'll need some legal advice

I was more "bless this house" than "Terry & June" to be fair.
-
Yes, in fact the banks cause the biggest issues. Especially with their assumption that 'everyone' has internet access and/or an 'app' on their phone. Obviously the young guys at head office can't comprehend that not everyone is always on their phone?
-
I'm too lazy to check but wasn't Terry a sales exec? So, in 2018 he'd be a bitter burnt out alcoholic doing 30,000 miles a year and hardly at home, June would be shagging around, and socialising with 'ladies that lunch'? Also, do any of those cars still exist? A huge amount of TV show cars have been tracked down and restored You won't get this sort of entertainment in the 'secret room'
-
And of course back then poor Terry couldnt even plunder his pension and buy a 'classic' BMW e46?
-
If 'Terry & June' was based in 2018 they'd have a white mercedes?
