  12. Is there no way you could ask customer to self insure and provide proof of insurance just a thought a garage that did work for me used to do this sounds daft but many were happy to do it for the use of car and was still cheaper for them to take out 7 days insurance rather than hire a car I don't think it would be worth it otherwise risking ncb and insurance costs in the event of an accident
  13. Just coincidence i think and probs the same people viewing it .

  18. If a private buyer buys it they pay the vat at the inclusive price with vat inc if a business buys it they pay the price + vat and claim back if the private buyer then sells it on is not vat registered they take the hit on the vat my local van guys uses it in a lot of his ad ex private owner so no vat so i would just advertise it inc vat then just state that vat registered buyers can claim back vat ,
  19. I would refer to it as experience . I had friend an older gent used to come about the place before his sad passing he used to say some of the younger generation could live to 100 and then live an other 100 years and still they wouldn't listen to advice .
  20. As you say stuff like that is worth a go .
  21. In all honesty by the time you take the purchase price the cost of the labour or time to do the repair the cost of the box etc wheres the profit its scrap or off to the block and let someone take there chances on it I'm sure we have all been there with a cheap auction car buy or px that looked tidy thinking it wont be much only to spend more on it then realise its not worth it if you really must fix it the advice is still as mark said the second hand box but learning from previous mistakes stuff like that is rarely worth the bother then you have all the trouble if it has other faults or something goes wrong keep us posted
  22. As the other lads have said a good mobile or specialist diagnostic man will remap it out would cost a few pound a ford think council and network rail restrict to 60mph as do royal mail and im sure bt is 70 mph we have had them remapped to standard before Only On a private road of course David the speed limit is 70 mph
