  1. It was really funny to be fair he drove around Edinburgh and Glasgow with it on for weeks and still hasn't noticed to this day
  2. Remember saying on here before but guy I used to work for all be it over 15 years ago he was worth a right few quid at the time had a policy which covered him for trade use by any employee employed or self employed worked for him friend relative or acquaintance of him for trade use and sdp as long as they had his permission to any value of vehicle with no age restrictions the apprentice at the time was picking up vr six golfs i wouldnt have believed it had i not seen it to tax a car one day but wouldn't like to think what he was paying . There Is just so many different options I don't think there will ever be a set price or average even going by this post it seems it varies a lot
  3. I remember years ago one of the other mechanics put a bra in one of the mechanics sun visors his good lady at the time found it almost caused a divorce another one same guy made a number plate up with some rude word and put it on the rear off the one of the lads 4x4 at the time he drove about for ages without even knowing then the guy just changed it back
  4. Mines is about £2200 and my friends who is on a much bigger scale is about £4800 so depends on value of cars size of business what's covered etc I wouldn't think there would be an average though be interesting to see
  5. Welcome to the forum I must be getting old cause it brings back memories for me patching up some auld shite with a bit of filler I had in my teens and early twenties it's always interesting to listen to all the old stories from way back . I remember the coke can and chicken wire to stop exhaust blowing seen that before
  6. Glad to here your doing well . Great idea really as you say saves yous having to forking out
  7. It's been the same with myself and all my contacts the past 3 years or so then picked up again .
  8. How's the campers going hopefully your doing well ?
  9. They just keeping getting better and better whatever next
  10. Who buys it ? You read my mind where does it go I've seen that loads and asked rhe same questions . Makes you think you could negotiate a bit of the autotrader car thats probably pretty much prepared retail sell it on for profit and still come in less than the auction car i remember watching a white a4 all road in the sale do £14300 its audi ad was still up at £14995 it went to a indy car supermarket place cant even remember where but was it up £15795
  11. I actually think its quite quiet for a lot a people taking to friends and other traders its that time of year again I also find some people always say there busy or ticking over because they don't want to admit there not at this time of year one guy i know is always busy yet when you drive past his place the same stock been sitting in the same place since November only thing i would say is a better camera some better pics i don't mind the videos your ads in general are ok as they are but as others have said personalise it a bit more to the particular car good luck
  12. Come on now david remember you have to tax it every year as well free mot for life including repair costs oh and what about free repairs when it breaks replacement tyres when needed and pay his insurance also for the ownership period thats more like a deal lol. I actually said that jokingly then thought to myself there probably someone out there would ask some times I wonder if those people tie there own shoes .
  13. Is both an option option 1 +2 on a serious note hope you get it sorted
  14. Good idea Mark .seen a lot of replicas do well
  15. Well its only a phone call to ask
  16. You could ask the question we normally just fix wheel bearings though only thing we've used surecheck for was a gearbox and clutch that went driving out the auction they payed no bother
  17. Depends on which bearing and if its assured or not and what the condition report says
  18. Seems the way now a couple of auctions have started the same just one rostrum Yes your right they start you on a gold card now I've known it happen with a few on here and a few guys i know personally i do agree with you but just feel when some of the old managers retire and the new ones come along its worst remember the days they would help you out give you a breakfast as hospitality etc same with the auctioneers you don't see it so much Now as I said at times i feel we are only a bidding number but then as you all say we are
  19. I remember years ago or back in the day as you say a manager at one auction moving cars to another he phoned the dealer principle on his personal mobile and asked if he wanted them moved as he could get it arranged with an another manager he know the same guy did the same thing for us after a car had been through about 6 sales we gave a really low bid which wasn't accepted in the sale and it was taken out he came to us said would would stand on the offer as he's explained to the lease rep the reserve is way over its value . Its not the same now the bigger auction houses look after the seller i know its always been this way but some times feel they couldn't really give a hoot for the buyers loyal custom etc .. your only a bidding number to some of the staff And livingston when it was owned by Sma come to think of it from memory
  20. All auctions do it as you say david I've seen stuff go to 3 auctions and back to the original ones different auctions sites by the same company and also completely separate ones like is said mainheim to bca etc as David says the vendor moves it from auction to auction .
