  1. We sometimes use the Arnold Clark one checking the value first
  2. Thanks for the advice Yeah I guess you are right there to be fair I guess it's not just the motor trade but every trade its good business practice when you think about it normally my answer is doing ok or getting a turn I always have kept my cards closed to my chest . Never say if I was quiet or busy always like to see fellow traders doing well All the best .
  3. Yes or a weather report about poor driving conditions

  7. There used to be a Peugeot and also a Vauxhall dealer near here owned by the same person the Vauxhall dealer is now a business that sells garden machinery and the Peugeot dealer is closed speaking to the owner he was telling me he was putting to much investment into them Peugeot wanted him to spend over a million in upgrades which wasn't viable due to what it was making him in return . And as others have said I guess websites like drive the deal and carwow etc don't help local dealers had a neighbour buy a new Mercedes 350 miles away cause our local dealers couldn't match the price the joys of the internet times are changing as above .

  9. The wording on some is brilliant too isn't it . Wipers could be better surely should be something along the lines of windscreen wipers deteriorated but still cleaning windscreen effectively Ive seen some a trained monkey could have written better .brakes rusty is another not corrosion on brake disc etc
  10. Just my thoughts and opinion but 3k does seem a lot for an 11 plate fiesta van in px I'm thinking off the top of my head more like £1850 esp with 5 owners a friend who deals in commercials bought a 15 plate with 80k miles and 1 owner for £3500 out the door at auction a few weeks back
  11. Agree with mark but not always possible we've had a couple sit over a year due to various things mechanical problems awaiting repairs etc . Marc p can I also suggest my advice not to put all your eggs in one basket and look to see cars in to the 2.5-5k bracket the 5-10k bracket and also 10-20k bracket as this will broaden your customer search and availability. So effectively stocking cars from 2.5k up to 20k
  12. Is there not something that says the tester can't alter anything without advising it bit like the items removed from drivers view prior test . So in theory he can't check the operation of the rear doors fully without deactivating the child locks which they say he shouldn't do just a thought . We've had some silly ones too
  13. Ive said that myself a few times
  14. Looks ok maybe some better pictures and move the rear number plate down to cover the what looks like old double sided tape . But I'm just picky with stuff like that
  15. I thought everyones missus was the same . Lol
  16. If genuine customers like the car most will buy regardless of the markers
  17. Your right in your situation.. I would just say sorry it can't be extended as it's not our company policy . As we just stick to 30 days consumer rights .
  18. Yes thats what i heard too only franchise for now
  19. Drove them with over 200k miles and they still drove really well guess it depends what's been done to it service wise and mechanically in the past as to how reliable it will be In the future just like everything else really

    Mr Bob

that is annoying when they ask for advice to fix there wrong on when you told them about it in the first place actually had it once where i know the people who-sold the car as in a trade in with obvious faults management light on etc told a buyer and customer about it who i also knew he bought the car light had been reset and needed £400 of repairs on a £1200 car we had a similar car at the time for £1995 but apparently that was to expensive fully serviced with no faults and a years mot
