were all levels reasonable ie not run low on oil? if they are and shes screaming then she will still be screaming after you repair it but it will be a different fault but she will argue they were related can you sell the car again easily? if so i would give her her money back but make a deduction for 2 weeks use out of the weeks out of the return period for things like valet wear and tear it would probably amount to £100 with regards hire and reward etc business use etc if it went to small claims my opinion would be the ice you are on is so thin its not worth the hassle

You most certainly have made the right decision to defend these people hope you dont turn up in court get all your key points down in order, the main one being customer has NOT specified fault,this is very important,this should prove your case as you have not had the opportunity to see what the problem even was/is have every bit of evidence at your fingertips for the day have a good nights sleep (yes i know that bit is hard) go to court think carefully what you say show your clear defence the judges are good at seeing liers i think you should win if you lose remember to ask for the car back or you lose it

you need to diligently fill in the papers to the court and ask for it to be thrown out too as its against you not your business it probably wont though because this happened to me

seeing as its been to a third party and stripped without your say so you could walk away of course and tell them to see you in court

they see it for sale and think you've trousered all the profit not worth it left hand and right hand never the twain to meet guy i know sold one like this and rang his brotherinlaw up to confirm he would take a dipper on it to make a sale and car came back 3 months later with his brotherinlaw on his pitch chewing the cud quickest way to get a broken leg i reckon
