ford never sold a decent auto after jack regan sold his consul granada with the dodgy headgasket (ask your dad they all blew the gasket on one side, terrible engine)
-
doesn't work soaks up the oil nor does banana skins in a diff to soak up the din not that i would know you aint seen me right anyway that viva isn't showing on dvla anymore so i can open the curtains
-
absolutely correct i said exactly the same today having sold a landmark yesterday that i lost count of the amount of adverts it had,it was a cracker so no way was i shooting it to sell it
-

the problem is that not all cars are put into trade by car owners so often you will check a car and its still taxed this is obviously down to the garage taking the trade in not doing their job dvla then have to write to keeper and ask if they have the car this can take 4 weeks but usually in these cases dvla send you a letter to advise the date the new log book will be sent out if car in trade then often i get a log book within a week like this week one came that was only sent last thursday main thing is make sure you use a black pen and the v62 you download is very legible you can now again attach a v890 because even though its in your trading name it still needs sorning as its not classed as in trade be careful how you do the online form filling whenst sold too
-
Thing is you put yourself right out for a customer eating loads of doobery only to ring them to say youve sorced exactly what they want only to get an engaged tone followed up later in the day when you finally get them to be told they bought one yesterday By all means have a go but dont buy one on the strength its already sold because customers will use it against you knowing you bought it for them and are selling it to them and they hate the idea your making a dolla ok only true in 95% of cases but last time i put myself out was last month, a known customer wanted a particiular car for particular money and i managed to fill all the boxes, what did lad say? he didnt like the colour
-
just in case it doesnt actually get exported make sure all paperwork immaculate as it will be you as last trade owner if anything hits the fan because dvla wont get a paper trail as he gets all v5 less the already missing into trade slip i had one last year ,fortunately attention to detail saved my bottie oh and take the money
-
my answer would still be the same car stripped without your authorisation car not able to be proved faulty at sale time what kind of garage would strip down to find a water leak rather than doing basic checks like pressure testing block testing co testing because all they can do once stripped is a skim of the head which would be difficult to confirm as faulty unless once on the bench and they see a crack or get it x rayed no way would i offer a contribution they are doing it all wrong
-
they can keep em all i would rather pay running costs than pay through the nose for lemon landmarks because thats what lots of them are that we make on quick decision impulses because we feel we must buy something take a few days off and decorate the outside lavvie

Car stolen last night from our garage - Trackers? info please
It's me replied to BCC's topic in General Dealer Chat
get to the car soonest, arrange recovery to your base, why? because otherwise police preffered recovery get it and charge you a fortune per day storage i cant claim these charges on my insurance if indeed i wanted to,can you glad its been found for you what can you do in future? just do everything you can to slow things down let tyres down on the banger in the gate hole nightly if you have to and get a complete steel covered steering wheel cover or chain the steering wheel up even consider buying an old fork lift and parking that with a well hidden remote starting circuit -
weve always had january madness its best to keep your hands in your pockets for a few weeks till all the fools have their fill then start buying
-
when it comes back get a decent reader on it that shows where and when it flashed up the code, it might be something as simple as a missed gearchange or 2nd to 5th gear
-
tell that to the buyer when car comes back in 3.99 weeks with a problem and see where it gets you in the bigger picture
-
i wont do sor i either say ive spent my budget or i have already a very similar car so thanks for the offer but at the moment i can only offer advice as to where to sell it to you or if you know its a good car and can bring it back to retail and be prepared to obviously warrant it and pay for the parking its taking up offer a price thats happy to everyone they can only say no if you want a business partner get one, dont have a customer ringing you up asking how its going because they will
-
merry dooberry everyone
-
Gets me how they all drive like they stole it on the test drive and some don't like being told to slow down until you explain the implications that THEYwill be getting the nip
-
lots of idiot txts again, messages from ebay and then a call number not identified,i guessed the last one was bob up the road trying to wind me up but it wasnt they came they saw they left conkers
-
not to be so soft
-
i used to buy ex police chevettes they never checked down the seats of those either but they used to come with a brand new engine fitted yesterday only roof holes to fill and the cars were ready retail back in the 80.s
-
im sick of badly worded txts offers and no shows why dont people phone anymore
-
well done its the focus ( or foci) that normally lose comms with the body computer
-

The honest answer is better appraisal ,this way most issues can be found before purchase, i always used to never take cars for test drives before purchasing off jo public till i went through a spell of a few needing clutches, remember like buses theres always another car for sale behind this one so if its too cheap mileagy or too many obvious faults tot them up on woodbines packet and see if the sums fit,if not dont buy it no matter how much you want to and if one does get through sit down at work get a sheet of paper and work out all possibilities of cutting down your loss so repair then retail? auction? ebay? keep as a spares car if you have the room and its a good source of spares like say a mini? or scrap it if its more hassle than its worth
