  1. Seems to be a lot of different advise out there regarding this subject, I am the opposite to Nick I put everything on, the second its sold / collected we remove it and the customer has already signed all the paperwork showing what time they collected the car so even if it takes an hour for it to show live as being removed and an accident happens in the mean time I can easily prove it isn't down to me. This advise is from our broker who services lots of garages in the area so as nicks guy bit of an expert in his field.
  2. I dont get how it is easier, i get it is easier with internet fraud hacking emails ect but its also on the flip side just as easy to check things out.
  3. They should have charged you the tax due on the vehicle from the date you purchased it and a admin fee shouldnt be to hard to work out if its right, they do make mistakes.
  4. It is so simple to check anything out these days with the internet, that said no matter how easy you make something you can never replace common sense.
  5. I was out after reading the op has done a module on cyber crime but this scam didnt come up....this is what i would class as close to a text book scam as it gets.
  6. I don’t know a dealer that would believe a single word of that jibberish.
  7. Are you sure it was there hand you was shaking, there goes the tone
  8. I would apply for membership to the dealers only section it could take a few months so best apply now, talking about margins out in the big wide public world gives the public the impression we are all minted.
  9. Really easy but buying them right that’s another story. Pps good to see someone with a sense of humour far to many serious people in this world.
  10. Welcome John, you will find the advise differs in this forum which isn’t a bad thing. I don’t think there is anything wrong with your margins for now, more importantly your in having a go and turning a profit, I feel sometimes you can read to much and never act on it. Whats your local support network like, paint shop, mot garage, mechanic, spark, dent guy, Valetor. these are all vital as you grow best to start building relationships as early on as you can iron out and find out who is worth there weight in gold. Ps, how hard can it be to chop a tree down
  11. With buyers fees he cant have paid much less for that, people happy to earn £100 a car these days.
  12. cheers handy to look out for in the future.
  13. Any chance of an update from the OP see if this is fixed and if so how ?
  14. What ever the price is make sure you put 95 on the end to annoy nick
  15. Include the words barn find, that will add 20% for sure, oddly enough i did find an Audi A3 TDI sline in a barn once down Gower most margin ever to be pulled from a car,, asked the guy what sort of deal did he have in mind and he said about £200 i was about to slap £200 in his hand double quick even for parts before i had chance the guy pulled out a load of rolled up notes and proceeded to count out £200 for me to take it away.
  16. I am thinking also £1290 vw derv nuts will go mad for that as it will return them a zillion miles to the gallon and drive forever. sold a few over the years and there very easy to get through a mot as well for a derv quite a clean engine.
  17. Your first job with your new found powers could be to change your tittle, i thought it was another brexit post.
  18. Didn’t almost every code translate into cylinder two misfire or that might just be my luck lately
  19. Only way i have managed to retain decent staff was by a profit share in the business in the long run best move i ever made. Oddly enough i do less these days and earn more. Building is getting hard work though so that is being scaled down over the coming years once all the land owned / in the pipeline has been built on, yet again the council has killed the industry and given it all to big family housing companies who mark my words will bite them in the ass the second they have the control they need which isnt far away.
  20. I am kind of on the fence on this one, myself am bonkers fusy about everything drive the boys mad. Two years ago had a very bad accident on one of the building sites scaffolding pole went through my skull and I was out of action for five months and the garage continued without me and turned out similar results year on year and the prep was a local £5.00 wash and wax I was amazed they did the numbers, but somehow did. I finally got back to the full swing of things cotton buds around the badges to remove polish residue and there all looking at me as I have three heads. So does it really make that much of a difference or an I just talking myself into it.....to this day duno.
  21. How can you take any advise from someone called stalker, i foresee you being a minus millionaire by Easter ....crack on
  22. Sometimes you can spend to long crunching numbers and end up doing nothing, why aim for ten why aim for anything just go buy a car do what needs doing and see where it takes you.
  23. The courts are under massive pressure to get things sorted through mediation, however sometimes it doesnt work the courts will look at both parties and see they have tried this happens, from what i understand the fact that mediation failed will not score against either party as you have both made an attempt to resolve your issues now its in the lap of the gods. I had to drop papers off to the court before xmas and one of the big wigs you could just tell he was high up was having his jag looked at by the AA i thought to myself i hope he hasnt got a car case in front of him today.
  24. What if the vat is shown separate on the auction invoice ?
