  1. I often tell my guys to forget value a £2500 Focus is as new to one customer as is a £15000 Focus RS to another, each needs to be prepped to the best of our ability and sold as such.
  2. As the internet is famous for seems like a load of misinformation is already out there i jumped onto Snap on usa and one comment popped up which makes sense. My understanding is that the protocol was more to prevent the unauthorized access of changing of data. You should still be able to read diagnostic data that's available. Otherwise they would not be able to smog or certify cars sold in the US.
  3. There is without doubt an art to Facebook which is why so many people find it painful, couple of obvious but items often missed i see daily. No1 you have to have a business page it doesnt cost anything but set it up right logos good pictures videos ect opening hours ect set yourself apart from some of the lower life forms already on there. no2 avoid these stupid groups cars under £2500 -£5000 what ever that is where all the low life hang out. no3 build your target add around the people who are going to buy your car we aim ours to under 25s for the c1 aygo 107 market they see them send you loads of messages about bluetooth connection and stuff and then the parents turn up and your away, another example a 1.4polo tdi we select an audience of over 25s that way your not wasting you money sending the wrong car to the wrong people. Sounds obvious but my 17 year old son was sent a sponsored add for a c class coupe what a waste of money that add is. no3 be sure to select the right towns area for your add we have some lovely parts of swansea and then some not so nice again common sense. And build on it, dont let it fester take cheeky pics of stuff just arriving people who have liked your page will see the updates and tag there mates in it before you know it you will have over 1000 followers and that part of facebook is free. it all sounds very obvious and common sense i know but as my gran would say common sense isnt common. love it hate it doesnt bother me works well for us and thats all i care about.
  4. Have you spoken the dealer who supplied the car ?
  5. I think your confusing seasonal good manners with respect.
  6. I have been saying that since day 1.5 unless you win the lottery or are gifted a running company there is no way anyone could build up a considerable amount of disposable money and ask such questions even if i was going to work in nasa tomorrow i wouldnt be so naive.
  7. I say a similar thing but never mention write off puts crazy ideas in there heads, and i have noticed over the years just because you can see it 90% of the general public will not, as long as it hasnt had a bang i wouldnt worry over it, i have sent cars to paint and the blend is worse than the mark i had painted out.
  8. Works very well for us as well long live the haters more customers for me.
  9. There is no need to get creative just show them the logs we use a form similar to the one hmrc use to calculate wrong declarations. Its very easy your work to home is 10 miles you do hundred miles in a day you just exclude 10 miles of your chart. Above all remain consistent.
  10. We run two pool vehicles a car and a van the log is easy to keep on your phone, doesn’t have to be left on premises as long as the home mileage is excluded from your logs. Guess it works for some and not others.
  11. So where does the £200 a month come from salary ? If So you pay paye on it if it’s drawn as a wage plus the company pays a contribution to paye system. When we run the maths it worked out cheaper to lease a car classed as a pool car through the company. The key word is pool there.
  12. I asked bca to do this once and was told it’s not there policy as there almost guaranteeing the vehicle and it’s condition over and above the report already placed on the car. you must sweet talk very well.
  13. Good morning sir can I interest you in this lovely car one careful owner from new until it was stolen and red lined in every gear to within an inch of its life. Ok so really no one knows the history of any car you buy however the odds of something being stolen and looked after whilst in the hands of a car thief have to be slim. I am with everyone else on this brave brave play.
  14. There is no such thing as a cunning plan, there are only ways to mitigate a tax bill slightly within the rules.
  15. Nothing wrong with being a specialist. I would research your local garages that can work on autos not all garages will.
  16. I did that in an auction once my head would not stop bleeding for ages, had to stand in the auction with a load of toilet paper holding my head together.
  17. No you can’t fix stupid at any price point.
  18. I am confused how can confirming what you have in an email be anything other than good. We had three yesterday all new suppliers pro-forma invoices which we where expecting goods match price matches what we was quoted all the accounts lady now does is google the company to confirm the phone number ring them up and ask them to repeat the details match the ones on the email very simple system. she then signs the invoice up set them up on banking and makes the payments job done.
  19. I think da having a fraud issue is a bit over dramatic it’s far more likely that a garage rather than da themselves have a security issue. Logically if it was da’s system hacked then why stop at one dealer you would take hundreds of accounts. I know when we had this issue the hacker was in our clients outlook account.
  20. They don’t even look the same the gt tdi has a sportier front grill sits on bigger alloys unless you standard car has been pimped just by looking at the car you should have twigged it was a standard tdi
  21. They monitor your emails for weeks if not months ahead to follow the same patterns so nothing jumps out as odd, they use the same communications down to how you sign with regards best wishes your sincerely ect its a very cleaver trick. Company policy for us is now to ring and confirm every new transaction if its not already on our banking schedule of payes we had a client last year send £25k to the wrong account was for a extension nothing to do with cars, and they where solicitors both husband and wife.
  22. Dont think its ridiculous from the landlords side of the coin, if someone came to rent one of my properties and appeared totally clueless i would push for as much as i could as well. Even the one condition you ask about is very vague, "which is to be held" it doesnt mention to be held where in the landlords back pocket in a goverment backed deposit scheme ? I would be instructing a solicitor to go over this other than asking a random bunch of people on an open internet forum.
  23. This simple statement goes a long long way, i had to give my mechanic a share of the workshop businesses best move I ever done, i could go for months without going in there and it would still be running like a watch.
