  1. Yes and no, yes they are stopping the ability to send in paper returns, and no they haven’t been doing it for years making tax digital is something completely new. Still amazed how little coverage this subject is getting. And nice try TV was worth a shot
  2. Its been said before and i stand by it "this is the world we now live in" social media is a great tool if used correctly, before posting i checked our leads and we get 26% of our sales from it, like anything else for it to work well it needs to be understood turn off reviews there a disaster and have the app on your phone so you can quickly delete hide block comments from the keyboard warriors, we got approx two three a month stupid comments hardly a full time job. If you manage to work the system i am yet to find a cheaper form of advertising, i fully understand it depends on what your selling in our case we find the first time driver will see the add on mongbook then turn up with his mum and dad to buy it.
  3. Further to the advise, I would ring head office get the rep to call to you it’s shocking how much of a good deal you get if you buy a few five ltrs at a time time you add glass cleaner a quick detailed tyre shine dash cleaner it’s quickly up to a decent enough order for them to make the visit.
  4. my insurance broker says complete opposite the second i pay for a car, they advise i put it on cover then the second the customer drives off i remove it, that was there advise. funny old game insurance, we pay £1800 a year but that does cover us to work on customers vehicles as well as the usual road risk blah blah blah Tool cover i find going up more than any other section our cover is £15k
  5. Havent used fusion how does it compare to Highstlye
  6. Biggest problem with tyre shines is most people dont spend enough time cleaning the tyre first, for any product to stand a chance of lasting it needs a clean surface to bond to. We find when we jet wash the tyres after a cleaning product has been applied and worked in well the tyre shine looks better and lasts longer. and we currently using autosmart highstyle which works well and great value for money. megs is a good shout as epv suggests.
  7. Tell him whilst you was sorting his dd's and standing orders out and ensuring all the chqs he had issued had been cashed you noticed his gym membership was also still active. We had an idiot phone call this morning must be something in the air, customer rings bought a car of you last year and noticed the locking wheel nut isnt in the car, dig the guys bill out electronically saved on the pc in front of me, and i reminded him he signed for it under box 11 of his receipt he replied with can i prove it was his signature as me might have copied it !! I suggested a local garage to take his nuts off and maybe a the local hospital to see if he has a screw lose. and now off to buy some grapes.
  8. I long intend to, yes some of them purchase the properties however a lot of them tend to rent down the Marina one block is almost full of overseas students there paying anything up to £900 a month. The last minute dash is great fun, i wont tell you how much we paid for a 11 plate grade punto 41k in white lovely little thing it was, last year the guy was flying on the Friday and tried to advertise his car on the Thursday, we got suggested as someone who could help him, i was away for the weekend and the office staff could only draw out £500 a cash day on the business card, needless to say it was one cheap punto. We fit a lot of tech kit for them also dash cams there big on, and i have to say there very polite young people to deal with never get a seconds trouble from them, does help that they can read the instructions better than us.
  9. So many scare stories out there, no more to add to the top answers above, apart from buying from a private seller has very Little to do with cra shambles. We buy a lot of cars of the local Chinese community of students they do the same thing year on year come to the uk to study buy nice cars there never short of a few pennies that’s for sure as there always top specs, look after them well for two years then a week before there due to leave try and sell them ? Why they leave it a week I never know. A lot of local dealers run a mile due to fabricated scare stories I go out of my way to buy them and touch wood have never had a wrong one yet and looking back at my deals with them there in the top 2% of most profitable deals made. Moral of the story whilst wales is full of sheep don’t be a sheep.
  10. Who cares if he pays tax or plays buy cra rules has a motor trade policy, as long as he owns it and your happy its for you then buy it.
  11. Busy enough here, just struggling to find the stock as normal.
  12. Can feel a page bet brewing
  13. A flashy solicitor friend of mine once bought David beckhams Lamborghini he only found out as he was nosey who the first owner was, showed a limited company on the log book limited company traced back to the beckhams.
  14. I presume conflict of interest is you work for an auction house, in which case sod politics use your advantage and get in there. As regards belts question take the advise above job done.

  18. Every case is separate based on variables we can not possibly know, best speak to your accountant.
  19. Try the police he has no legal claim to your goods they might reason with him, whilst I feel they might pull it’s a civil matter push the angle in your view it’s theft. That’s what I would try.
  20. The manual version are equally as poor hence the insurance companies liking them.
  21. I tell my guys there sales people so sell the car and sell the garage. each to there own
  22. I sold a car once to visa mot inspector who checks mot testers was a lovely guy.
  23. In the multi bread and butter world, i take kit of sale with a deposit we often got two or three of the same in prep or arriving shortly so hardly ever lose a customer can think of the last time we did, lots of dealers around me dont so we like to say yes when people say no seems to make a difference. We also give deposits back which works for us, we had a guy not like the shade of purple on a fiesta he reserved so we give him his deposit back he bought a car elsewhere and it turned out to be a shed and the dealer quickly disappeared back into the petrol station back yard he came from so come to buying time for his daughter he came back to us. Everyone is different if it works for you no skin of my nose.
  24. Everyone said the same about the Skoda badge once, nothing to be ashamed about these days.
  25. This happens to us all from time to time me with my first time buyers market quite often , i would wait for them to crawl back and point out the car sold within an hour to a mechanic from Toyota who couldnt fault the car even after a two hour inspection. (little white lie and rub the salt right in) And why give up you sold the car and get to make the guy look like a prize tool win win in my book
