Can anyone recommend a decent workshop in Penzance area
Rory RSC replied to Autolink100's topic in General Dealer Chat
Correct. In October 2003, European Union legislation affecting the motor trade came into force, designed to open up the motor trade to free market conditions and to stop restrictive practice. (Its full title is "Block Exemption Regulations 1400/2002" -
Like.

Kick back a bit harder. as long as serviced in line with their guideline non issue. Unlikely to have led to this either way. -
No it isn't. It really, really isn't.

It's not for everyone. Business isn't for everyone.

On Court Day......... what happenes
Rory RSC replied to Blenheim Car Sales's topic in General Dealer Chat
I haven’t been. Yet. Sure it will happen at some point. I would take the advocate for first time. -
Not really. WHilst there’s black and white there’s a bit of grey in the middle. If I took a deposit on a car I had for a while to someone I really didn’t want to sell to and someone came along an hour later wanting to give me more for the same car but seemed like less of a headache I would do what’s best for the business. With some people its all take, take, take.

£20 in Aldi goes a lot further than £20 anywhere else still. The main thing in that article is the growth of the used car supermarkets and that is where the money is. For us finding stock its going to be hard but I reckon this is a very good time to be a used car trader if you are lean, efficient and forward thinking. If your prep is too high and expensive I think it may well become unsustainable.

£800.00 Extra. Its time like this you have to ask what would Bernie Ecclestone have done when he was a trader.

This. Little white lie never hurt anyone.

I can’t remember exactly but I think My probationer suggested it after seeing the business plan I produced during a prison sentence.

Same if it continues. Around 20 so far.

Save a generic response on your iphone notes. Copy / past / send done. If they are fake / wind up then just invite them to call.

Sorry to hear of your issue but it is all part of running the business and we have to be good at dealing with these sort of things. Speak to garage who have advised and quoted. Ask them to determine the fault. Ask why it is a fault. Ask how many miles left. Ask when it needs replacing. I like to be right so if I was 100% confident that the clutch was working fine, no slip - judder - vibration and it was just a high biting point as a charecteristic I would hold my ground. Simple reason being you have bought a used car with many miles, many many months beyond the original manufacturer warranty period. Sometimes these sort of customers are just unsure or worried that a clutch is going to cost £2k etc so you could always say worst case clutch needs replacing in next 12 months I can have it done for £300 ( insert amount) at trade rate for you. Stand by it, confirm its not a fault and confirm car runs and drives as intended. If its not on finance I would fight it, PM if you want a response letter looking over or anything. Alternatively if they are bonkers and you want an easy life just give them their money back, add £300 to the price of the car and sell it again for more to nicer folk who you will never hear from again as a metaphorical middle finger at these gimps.

If I was new to the job I would be happy with all the leads I could get. I would reply politely to each and every thing. Possibly even follow up. Afterall not exactly mega busy and with plenty of time on hands at the start a good way to trial different responses. What I wouldnt do is get worked up about emails coming in. We all get stupid ones from time to time.

ANd that’s what CG does. If you use the platform as a consumer it’s very simple. I don’t like overpriced market stuff but if you have enough stock only a Few are overpriced and that is usually desirable well specced stuff in a good colour. We still sell them. In my experience - CG customers are less likely to ask for money off. Slightly less car savvy or clued up and just wanting to buy a car in a simple way. Probably started on Google. Very feel leads who come on site are wanting to look At others. CG also equates to our lowest cost per sale in terms of advertising consistenly every month. Retargeting is exceptional.
