  1. @jimreidvehicle is Aberdeen area decent honest reputation with workshop. Worth a shout, I hate these situations when other places exploit you.
  2. I do a lot at lower rate to avoid clawbacks where its just not worth them changing on the lumpy stuff. This is actually one thread I would love to see what TV has earned back in the day as I reckon there was some serious money in finance back in the day from what I hear with salesmen literally going to the bahamas on the finance company incentives.
  3. There is a bit of that but some of its pretty useful and free and I really am not one for expo / trade show type events. Some of the stuff I picked up at CDX a few years ago changed my business and didn't cost me a penny.
  4. @Andy Entwistle might beable to help when he sees
  5. Self or you pay twice. You are covering stuff under the CRA - If you cover stuff under CRA why not get your salesperson hat on and then market that as a warranty which covers the basics anyway and upsell extended cover.
  6. If you don't offer warranty whats the point of buying from you over and above a private sale.
  7. FB Marketplace is the new gumtree. Absolutely great for disposing of PX shitters.
  8. Snap on do them fairly frequently.
  9. Just tell them all cars are personally sourced from some main dealer contacts. The amount of cars we get from the dealer down the road whilst hoping the valeters haven't left any manheim stuff in them Just give people the answer they want to hear with that stuff they get the same warranty irrespective.
  10. Same mate. Best tea of the week whenever I went there and was there a better feeling than getting a car back without having paid and selling within 24/48 hours
  11. Sold 2 bangers via market place last week both around 200k. Got loads of messages within minutes of them going live. I did what you do AD sent a copy and paste message with weblink saying read that, watch that and then call. Both sold within 2 hours and cleared offsite ignored the ones that wanted to chat and make offers.
  12. Boost / Target some I've never spent more than £100 in a month on facebook very rarely spending anything at all. Just keep hammering away at it. Then again took me 3/4 years of posting before I sold a single car directly attributable to it so you could say slow burn. My stock sits well on facebook so I put the right cars on there something a bit dull etc I don't bother.
  13. Still can't shift the old sticking stock with no money left in them either though. Bizarre game. A lot of leads coming through facebook and sales from that platform too.
  14. We have sold 22 cars in the last 7 days. Out of nowhere. Over 50% of the months sales on finance. Its like a switch has been turned back on the phones not stopped emails not stopped.
  15. Did you work to lower margin? Did you work harder? Did you work more hours? What did you do better back then?
  16. Plus the Vendors have been having it away for the last couple of years with everything going for over cap clean now its starting to drop when they have a high reserve a sale or 2 later and you can grab some bargains on the unsolds. Interesting point projecting that small caring local business image on a national scale still has legs.
  17. 5 car Saturday for the first time in weeks, or months that a Saturday has actually been busy. Had numerous other viewers yesterday and the day felt it went quick for the first time in a long time. Upwards of 40 and should be pushing 50 sales a month. Currently sat on 32 for the May. Working twice as hard to get the deals in and trying my absolute hardest to ensure anyone actually buying a car gets the best car buying experience I can give them. Its tough, but just got to work smart. It continues to be tough and challenging times.
  18. Unusually optimistic TV but I think the show goes on you just have to dig down and get on with it as best as you can and try and adapt quickly when you start to spot things going wrong.
  19. Just give it back aswell. Why get into an argument over £250 with a tosser. If the deposit was placed in person different story. Your right, he should be buying, it was commitment but on this one don't fight it just get on with something better.
  20. We take refundable reservation fees. Its refundable if you come out and see the car and don't like it. Recently adjusted the terms on website so that if we hold the car for a few days and you just changed your mind that it is not refundable on that basis. Fairs fair and it pissed me off no end when people decided not to bother after holding the car for a few days.
  21. Meanwhile today on things that never happened...
  22. Yours do because if they don’t they don’t have a hope in hell of buying a car from you. We get a lot just turn up having given all the info they need. Regarding paypal blatant scam. Also when telling people you have changed brakes spell it right breaks sounds shit.
