Your PDI report will show dipstick was fine at point of sale. I would also be leading customer to put something in writing clarifying that they have checked the oil over the last 6 months and that dipstick was fine at this point. I would not entertain the broken dipstick after this many miles on an old car.

Simple and to the point reply along the lines of - Dear (ebaytype username), It is unfortunate we see a one word review from you stating 'terrible'. We strive to offer excellent service at all occasions and take all customer feedback seriously. I have searched our database and have no open complaints or disputes and do not recognise your name. If you wish to discuss further please contact me on phone number / email address and I will personally ensure any matters are dealt with. Kind regards, Business owner.

Fair Wear n Tear..... How do you define it ?
Rory RSC replied to Arfur Dealy's topic in General Dealer Chat
A customer buying a 2008 Golf on 150k miles expects the same aftercare as a customer buying a 2015 Golf on 20k miles. Very few customers have mechanical understanding that older cars will not last for ever. CRA has muddied the waters around these sort of issues far more than was ever needed. -
Drives me nuts. Have mild OCD and have to have all notes facing the same way so have to re arrange them all. Couldn't care less about this one its just their language isn't it.

Stock funding is a big drain on cash flow if you have to much. If you go from having ten cars in stock owned outright to twenty and suddenly 50% are funded then your stocking plan covers buying them but its down to you to pay to have them back, painted, mechanically prepped, valeted, advertised etc and all those costs add up across another 10 cars and can be a bit of a drain. Its down to being disciplined and managing your finances efficiently which is critical in any business.

I found a pitch to practice! And I found a teacher too.

Lucas constant questions gave the guy a nosebleed -
My car is making a strange noise. Is it doing it all the time? Yes OK bring it in we will have a look. Come in and cannot replicate the fault thats always there. Whilst I am here can you just look at and then they pull out a huge list.

Strange thing we tend to sell the cars that show up as overpriced or priced high on their site as when they have a load of extras customers soon realise that is why the white car with black pack and pan roof is more than the maroon one with the chrome and tiny wheels. Their re targeting advertising is phenomenal.

Several a month from CG tends to perform well and consistently. Has done for a long while now.

There are a lot of big businesses making a lot of money using stock funding. There are a lot of people who can't manage their own financial affairs correctly who are given stocking facilities and continue to mismanage their financial affairs. These people arethe ones who say Nextgear randomly debit money from my account. They just dip in and out. Its all nextgears fault when things go wrong. It really isn't. Be careful, take on less than you need learn the ins and outs and if you sell fast its a good way to assist with some growth. Proceed with caution. Pitches are digital these days IMO. Things that used to apply still do just a different format.

I used to be keen like that.

His new company slogan has just been found.

Its easier to get forgiveness than permission just turn up and drive them mental asking questions until they cave in. I suspect you will be great at this

Customers who message the facebook page and say'how much' Why not look on our website mongy
-
Most customers browsing on mobile click to call directly on whichever platform they are on at the time. Call trackers are handy and at least you know if you are getting leads in from somewhere I like them. Its not the be all and end all but it helps.Autotrader call tracker records them aswell which is sometimes funny when you get nutjobs ringing up and no one in the office believes you

If you all fancy a car dealer monthly challenge.......
-
I still look at what AT works out at per car sold. Also someone bought a car from us through find and fund
-
Do you use the call trackers for all the sites Simon? I have recently had one turned on so I know its from ebay ( not sure I ever asked anyone to do it it just happened one day)and can now attribute a lot more to it.

4 Friday 4 Saturday nothing today until a handover turned up I forgot was coming. Only call I have had was someone asking checking if something was still for sale and a wrong number for another garage - On the subject of that if someone has a punter turn up to look at a Vito today asking for Aussie Derek its my fault I gave in on the 4th time of him calling and put on an Australian accent and said if he could get here in an hour with cash he could have 2 grand off.
-
People who call up 9 or 10 times whilst you cant get to phone or are on another call and its first thing in the morning on a Sunday and its to view a car weds/thursdsay just seeing if its still there.... People who bring cars back for a list of warranty items on the day before the warranty expires. People who call about a car and then ask where we are... next question how far is that from London

Gen Merc parts are often quite good value, service bits are pretty reasonable. Same goes for TPS with VAG stuff particularly when buying bulk.

Mat do you run it as a separate company or is it in the same accounts as car sales out of interest?
