Accepting/providing finance pros and cons
Rory RSC replied to tradegirl's topic in General Dealer Chat
We are up to around a third of all sales on finance and I have personally worked very hard for the business to get it there. The additional commission is always welcomed. A good go to lender and then a good broker are essential. Most finance companies are not bad to deal with, only problems tend to be selling old sporty models to penniless punters at high interest rates who nail the cars into the ground tearing about and then we are expected to fix them. On 95% of all other deals never an issue. I can't stand CF247 over the past couple of years they have gone bad to worse. -

Boohoo. Who cares. Seriously. Loads of stuffs unfair I wouldnt waste a single second going on about it just focus on doing what you do and do it to the best of your ability.

Just wants you to say don't worry it comes with a bit of back up should you need it.....check out our great reviews we prep cars highly and whilst we can't make them new we can offer it for sale with confidence. A lot of these customers haven't got a clue how to go about buying a car thats all.

Card deposits in person balance via transfer. Just take £250 on a card don't put obstacles in the way.
-
Cheques in the post Thank you though.

Oh ill just sort it out when I get home, when buying a £20k sporty car ffs. Just insure it it takes 2 mins and if you don't and something does happen then its really not my problem. I remind customers to sort insurance. I remind them again when they arrive have you sorted your insurance. I don't insist on seeing a cover note it really isn't my responsibility.

Car dealer awards - I was dreading going last year to such a formal event, way outside my comfort zone. When we went it was just a bunch of car dealers who are all quite a good laugh getting on the beers and having a good night out. Look forward to seeing a few of you there on the night. Every single one of the team loved it with the exception of our mechanic who remained out of his comfort zone and who begged us never to take him anywhere again November back in the game 17 sold so far and also finding buying a lot easier.

We throw a packet of ham into the workshop and they all just magically get done -
Well Grant not sure which planet you have been on and sorry to break it to you but due to the overwhelming success of Findandfund they actually gave it free to all dealers.

You can't buy a VAT quali, smoke about in it having claimed the vat back and say its in stock if its being used privately is what was inferred.

Doing more finance than ever this year largely due to marketing, pushing deals that look attractive and being competitive on rate whilst still earning. Stock profile also. Makes a big difference monthly when the cheque rolls in. I have put a lot of effort into making it work with a lot of trial and error but seems to be good for now. CF247 don't pay them anything. Sacked them off following them repeatedly sending us invoices for cars customers had seen on Autotrader / facebook etc and despite us and the customer telling them this they were not interested.

Do it. Make it your mission to pay the majority of the rent off the back of just one healthy big margin sale. There is my challenge for you. I used to do paperwork out the boot of a car with no office and kept all my keys in a tub inside a JD sports bag.

No he cannot force you to repair a car if its not economical. If its a pipe and its going to take 2 mins to repair then just do it. If the headgaskets gone and you can't be bothered reparing as its not worthwhile and want to block it then give him his money back and avoid further issues. -
A good way to avoid these sort of situations - Sorry to hear that, was running fine at point of sale. Please let me know when you want to bring it back and we can assist further. We will aim to turn it around as quickly as possible and will work around you. Kind regards, Just prevents things getting messy.
