  1. Cars at 5k just need as much work doing as cars at 2k in my experience when it comes to prepping. Margins are increasingly squeezed across all sectors and you have to put extra effort in to finding stock. Its tough at the moment. Very tough but you can still do well and find good profits if you are prepared to work harder and smarter.
  2. Every single one of these customer facing brokers completely fails to get the dealers on board. Zuto are significantly better than their competitor.

  5. They have helped a lot of dealers out with the classes they run on top of running their own businesses. Very nice bunch of car dealers both collectively and individually who al want the industry to prosper.
  6. Firstly just don't even think about taking on a workshop. Just don't do it. Its the right thing in the future if you sell any cars but very much the wrong thing for you right now. Secondly if you must insist you need break clause. What does it say about maintenance and repair of commercial property. Seriously do not sign a commercial agreement without a full understanding and a solicitor checking through it. I lost a lot of money with a commercial lease when I was younger and thought I knew everything. Big financial hit soon makes you learn. Also 2 other questions - You have been in business a while what has been your biggest financial loss to date and biggest lesson so far in business. What llanguages can you speak? Can you speak Cantonese?
  7. £15k Audi A4 Saloon Yesterday sold through facebook barely glanced at it just did the finance e sign having self propped already and drove away. Were here including a brief test drive all in probably 20/25 mins. 3 Yesterday with one eastern european trooper turning up at 9.50am and leaving at 4:30pm with car with a lot of back and forth with a finance broker and a really messy deal. Its quiet without him in the office today

    I wouldn't be rolling over on something like this. An example currently ongoing with us Customer buys premium Audi Vehicle, takes it into local Audi garage after about 1500 miles for a recall. Free health check carried out Audi reckon this low mileage car with a clean MOT and no advisories needs £3500 worth of repair work. Namely tyres, brakes all round and an AC Service. Anyway tell customer come back into us and we will have a look should not be the case.Car turns up and everything on it is absolutely fine tyres they say need replacing are nearly new, front pads are brand new etc. Rear brake pads are the only item actually getting low and still have min 4/5k worst case scenario in them. The lovely trusting customer who bought from our reputable business then thinks this dealer is full of shit and takes it to another independent who agree with everything we say and only advise rear brakes will need changing in the not to distant future. Customer is wanting to reject the car and get a full refund..... Certainly won't be caving in to this unreasonable demand. * car they bought has been faultless and pre Audi visit they were delighted* Lesson re learned to me. Check for any recalls and avoid customers going to main dealers like the plague

If I have spent a lot of time ensuring the car is priced well to begin with and prepped it so that it is in excellent condition for the age and mileage I would rather hold out for someone to pay me what I want for it. I sell on our service, reputation and after care and hold firm for the asking price where ever I can. Discounts are still few and far between. However if someone wants to buy a CLA220 from us you can have a discount because I have had them in stock for ages
  13. Touch up and even for me I probably wouldn't refurb those alloys and I refurb about 75% of them on cars we end up buying.

    He was a finalist who won an award so he is now an 'Award Winning Dealer' which sounds even better. Great for marketing and long term credibility. Regards self nomination you have to be in it to win it. I didn't self nominate for Dealers dealer, someone must have voted for that category which was a surprise. We nominated for used car sales team and must have done well during mystery shop etc The awards are tough there are a lot of dealers both good and bad in the running and its not easy to make the shortlist full stop out of the amount of entries from dealers out there. You can play the game and join in or crack on irrespective selling cars and bringing profit in which is what counts at the end of the day but its a good night with a lot of good people and I can confidently say having a few awards has led to us being able to sell more cars.
