Modified Cars...what would you do !!!
Steve92 replied to Gavin@Rousdon's topic in General Dealer Chat
Someone will buy it, surely it's worth trying as it is. If it doesn't sell then put it back to standard. I modify my cars but always put them back to standard before I sell them. -

I think trust worthy traders regardless of vat status, however I believe people should be vetted, it should be off limits to the casual observer and some form of feedback should be in place. Oddly enough we had a call from a trader today asking for feedback about a trader we had purchased a car from and that they were going to buy from. -
Bit quiet but then we are low on stock as we are in the middle of decorating

We register the new owner online, then when the new v5 arrives you can assign the plate to the car. I was told by the dvla that the car receiving the plate must have the new keeper registered against it, the car has to be taxed and mot'd to remove and add plates

I wouldn't waste money or boutique waxes for stock unless you really need to, I use menzerna or car pro for any polishing and one of our painters uses the rupes Bigfoot, I still think autoglym products do out things, gtechnic is great but pricy, c2v3 is a great quick to use sealant and sonax bsd does give a nice gloss and some protection. Colly 476 is a great wax and very underrated, my tin is lasting ages. as for roof protection gtechniq i1 fabric protector is the best I have tried. Megs apc and super degreaser is also very good.

Audi A8 today, I'd have been interested in the auto .... If it had been a fiesta 1.0 we looked at micras and the wife hated it.

Who is responsible for returning a car? Buyer or Dealer?
Steve92 replied to Phil's topic in General Dealer Chat
We resold a car to the same buyer, it was a civic and on the way home the clutch showed signs of slipping under load, we had never driven it far and at speed. We gave them there money back, gave them a lift home and then put a new clutch and dmf in it, they then came back and paid us again, they were happy because now had a brand new clutch and they liked the car. -
Genuine ones or at the very least Bosch, if it's got the original ones in then Audi are replacing them under warranty. Our TT had new ones fitted at the office free of charge. If the car has 1 original and 3 non Oem then they will only replace the Oem one. I would pay for 1 coil pack and 50% contribution to the other 2, but if they refused I'd replace them all. Oh and they can go just like that, we had a 320i do the very same, except it through a few other codes up and cost £600 to sort. It failed the day it was collected when it had covered 300 miles.
-
I would answer them, if your buying something that could be expensive you want to be aware of all of the facts, I always ask about the cam belt too, after all if you buy something the last thing you want is to have to spend another £500 on getting a cam belt fitted.

is that free or chargeable

You your just up the road from us too, we are in Stamford

How about my corsa, we took it as a px, it was supposedly clean and tidy - I had to put a new wing on it as the dent was that big and there are scrapes and other dents elsewhere. The interior was disgusting, you couldn't see the carpet for dirt and the seats .... Still it came up alright in the end. Not bad for £700, it's an 08 life 1.2 and has been my daily runner for 6 months. It owes me a radiator

Ours have all wanted to collect the cars with there plate already on the car. I guess we could ask for full payment when we send the log book off, but if it was me I wouldn't pay for a car without having it. I guess it depends what you want, give the customers exactly what they want or not. I guess large dealer groups don't have the problem of cash flow.

It more of the delay in waiting for the v5 to come through, the actual process is pretty quick I even completed one at the services at scotch corner this afternoon. We just get the plates off eBay and then it's usually 2 weeks from start to finish before the car goes, it just means the car is sold but until the car has gone and the money cleared we don't have the spare cash to buy another.
