  1. Given he wanted retail for the px and trade for you 1 series it sounds more like wasn't in the trade but was just the normal customer
  2. I don't see the issue then, b2b don't have consumer law on their side, he said he was a trader, the v5 wasn't filled in and just passed from trader to trader. It's buyer beware, I doubt trading standards would be interested and if they do contact you I would refer them to how the sale was conducted and that the paperwork supports this.
  3. Does anyone think euro 2016 will have an impact on sales.
  4. We treat everyone the same and assume they will buy.
  5. Did the v5 get registered directly to a person or was the trade section filled out ? in a previous role not related to cars I would regularly have customers threaten us with trading standards (well a couple per year) all I used to say is here is my number, email please pass it along with my details to trading standards and I will help them in any way I can. I only ever spoke to them once and trading standards were on our side. if you had a specific trade invoice, they filled out the yellow section (did they have trade plates or tax the car prior to taking it) then I don't see the issue, it was advertised as a trade sale although there are grey areas around that so you should be ok. Do you know if they were actually a trader ?
  6. Need to buy something to sell
  7. We got down to 1 car, picked another up today and another is being prepped. Sold a 520d yesterday too. The 428 picked up today was priced fairly but when listing it on AT the owner said its recommended price was 25k way above what cap quote.
  8. Mercedes will do it if you give them a copy of your purchase receipt - well email it to them. BMW give service info out through customer services or just take the key to your local dealer, having said that they are starting to store them electronically in the idrive. Land Rover are very helpful too.
  9. The sq5 departed us today, we don't have much left in stock now and it's sunny so I'm expecting it to be quiet.
  10. Yep will take a screen shot, oh and you popped up on my Facebook feed earlier on for one of the mini groups (my own car is an r55 s)
  11. Other than world domination do you think it's autotraders aim to become the new cap ? Given we have glasses, parkers and what car pricing of which everyone seems to give some form of random figure who's to say who is right. i'm not sure how autotrader come to their pricing given I've seen it both under and over cap figures, it seems to suggest the part ex price is the average trade price, how it works this out I have no idea. I can see that the average retail price they can work out given than most cars are listed on their site. The trouble is while 50 dealers could stop using them it's not going to make a difference because main franchises will still use autotrader even though they have their own websites and approved used programs. it needs someone to take on Autotrader but given that some have tried and failed it's going to take deep pockets and lots of marketing, even then they still have brand presence. It needs someone like eBay or Amazon to take them on, however would someone like Amazon be any better ? They seem to screw the middleman too.
  12. Just some feedback on your website, for me where you have telephone numbers and have made them a lighter colour - I assume to stand out it works the opposite and makes it difficult to read. It might be worth going for a darker colour. It might be worth having a look at the rnib's website, because they are all about visual impairment the site is very clean and easy to read and things stand out. oh and I like the mini's don't forget there are plenty of Facebook groups out there to target dedicated to mini's
  13. 2 more this weekend, both come with A5 px's
  14. Hi Rachel, thanks, I've already been in touch about the offsetting. I think it's good, we never intended to use it as accounting more for sales and stock so I'm trying to learn from my mistakes !
  15. 6 since Friday, that includes an a5 advertised at 4pm on Friday with two customers viewing the car at the same time at 2pm on Saturday, could have had that thing sold 5 times over. Then a BMW 420d, got it back at 4pm, someone viewed it at 5pm and it left the same day, we were left with his old 320i (free) which we scrapped and got some extra ££ in the bank.
  16. So the first full day of use, some bits seem overly complicated and don't flow, for me there should be 1 screen where everything goes but it might just be how I'm using it. The documents need some work as they look a little basic and I need to get my head around what you can put on the paperwork, our current sale/purchase receipts ask customers to sign to say they are happy with the condition/not cat c/d or finance outstanding and they are happy with the condition etc. It might be I can put a no cost invoice line down but I'll experiment more tomorrow.
  17. So I've signed us up for the free version. Initial impressions are it looks good, I just need to play about with it. I need to do some work on documents and then look to see how you can use it with external suppliers, the garage function seems to be set for garages that have an internal department rather than out sourcing it to others like we do. there do seem to be a few bugs where it doesn't carry through mileages and you need to input them twice but that might be me, vrm and postcode lookup is good, you can put in service and mot details but for car sales it's possibly not an essential the service allows you to put a date but you cannot refer to mileage. There are various sections so I just need to work out if there is one area where you can input all of the data. the lead function is ok but it would be nice if it could import these from the likes of autotrader to save duplicating work.
  18. How do the px figures stack up ? One that springs to mind for us was a golf r32 that it overvalued by just over £1000.
  19. Sunday was zzzzzzzzzzzzz I put that down to the sun though, ml went today and a deposit on an a6, viewing on an evoque tomorrow and a6 avant on Thursday. Oh and 428i sold Saturday.
  20. Funny you should mention mercs, we priced a px up at the weekend and the other Steve mentioned something similar regarding merc pricing. We put in a very low amount based on it being dull, grey with grey interior, a broken light and other bits a pieces oh and that we didn't want it.
  21. Thanks Jim, it does look like they are reasonably new to the uk, at the moment I don't think we would get the most from a full blown crm or dms system, I do think we would get the benefit of vrm look up and postcode look up, we have our own documents but are using google drive so we can view and share information. We do need to do more with customer information but it's more for keeping track of customers who want specific cars or to let them know when something similar comes into stock. oh and where's your forum ?
  22. Has anyone heard or had any dealings with them ? They popped up on my Facebook feed and have a couple of packages that start from £0 up to £60 per month with no contract. It looks like you can create sales and purchase receipts and keep a stock book with vrm lookups as well as postcode lookup etc. It looks quite easy to use but it's always nice to hear from someone who has actually put it too the test. www.carvue.com
  23. March was good for us, April really poor. I do think school holidays have an impact though.
  24. Given we have had a March and April thread I guess we need a May one. so two days in how's it going, we have 2 with a third awaiting finance approval.
