Maybe the turbo wasn't the only problem

There are still huge amounts of punters that actually believe cars are priced with a profit margin of 90%, and in that case you can afford to take a huge chip without hurting.

I seem to remember reading that there are a number of vehicles that require resting voltage to be way over 12v or faults occur

It's been many years since I bought trade ins from a dealership, probably nearly 30yrs, and in those days there was a pecking order of trade buyers. It always worries me when I hear about guys who have a 'special' arrangement with a local dealership to be a sole buyer; why would a dealerhip want to do that?
-
You're right, problem is nobody wants to admit to selling 'old tat'?

Yes, they are all good at taking your money, but the real test is how they handle a problem.

I've always had a good quote from them regardless. I'm with Tradewise

It's an import Skyline; it'll be full of 'bent' parts anyway

I have a nephew that buys and sells a lot of companing/caravanning stuff. It all goes on Gumtree and sells faster than any other platform

... and me, still looking after 30yrs

Don't knock it, they could knock on your door instead?

I've noticed AT are running a campaign offering free 'private' ads for cars under £1k at the moment. Interesting that apart from their issues with traders that they must also be losing a lot of revenue from private sellers using facebook for 'free'?

Apologise if you've already tried this but you used to be able to buy coolant hose repair tape (not insulating tape) that you would wrap around the leak like a puncture kit, but I've not seen this for some time. I think I've still got a roll in the shed somewhere; again, sorry if you've already tried this

How much is a hose?

Could be good news if points mean prizes

I'm told these are modern classics but I've also read that "A thing of beauty is a joy forever" Not sure how that would sit in your car collection next to your Ferrari GTO, but each to their own.

Just out of interest, with a 'brokering deal' who takes responsibility if there are issues down the line. Can the broker sidestep any responsibilities? Are warranties given? Who does the inspections and are they insured against the usual? If that 'Ferrari GTO' turns out to not be a matching numbers car who is liable? Vendor, broker, inspection agent, warranty? I was also under the impression that 'brokers' tend to operate in the upper price levels of classic cars/boats/planes

Nothing except it has 'peaked' my interest?

Good luck with the new "area of specialisation". What's the market like for camper vans generally, and where do you source them in any quantity?
