Dyson to start making electrici cars...

Will we buy them on QVC? -
I really dont understand who buy from auctions and why?
metcars replied to Roberto82's topic in General Dealer Chat
Yes, I think they will end up online only pretty soon. As far as the auction houses are concerned the less opportunities buyers have to inspect cars in the flesh the better. Their descriptions are far from honest, always seeming to miss the important bits. I'm sure they'll do a brilliant job of selling the idea of how easy it will be to thumb through the descriptions, click, pay and arrange delivery without having to leave your desk. Welcome to the future. -

Savvy private buyers looking for bargain, that's who! -
Is specialising the way forward for small indys?
metcars replied to Linctrader's topic in General Dealer Chat
I am exactly the same, but they are the future. As I mentioned earlier, and in my opinion (what is the internet without opinions), a young thrusting 'go getter', could start gathering together specialists capable of dealing with these cars and grab a good foothold in specialising in used cars. Me, I'll probably be long gone and cremated in a 'Dodge Charger' petrol tank -

Regardless of what Tesla think, they 'do' still go wrong -

Not until you've done your 100 lines. "I must lower my standards and buy crap, as I can't sell empty spaces" "I must lower my standards and buy crap, as I can't sell empty spaces" ..............

Pedant alert! Are we quite or quiet?

I'm guessing everyone that uses Ebay has had the notice of the change in conditions regarding direct dealing or 'off sales'. Ebay are now going to much stricter about this. It struck me that it is going to affect car breakers selling 'wheel nuts' and the "contact me for anything else you might want" type ads?

I was at a farm/machinery auction a few weeks ago and almost bought one of those road legal offroad type buggies used by the forestry commission. Looked like a golf cart on steroids He sold them to Tesla -
Well you're not alone. I can't buy crap just to fill the spaces. I had two on my list that I even expected to put clutches in and was still outbid on them

.... but they will eventually require repair whether due to accident damage or wear and tear. They'll have bearings and suspension components not to mention chassis control systems that always go wrong in the end. -
After another disappointing auction buying trip. You know that feeling when you have to make the best of a bad bunch. Nothing is quite right and everything has a problem. The term is "rat f*****" I understand.

Although if I were a young thrusting 'empire building' kind of guy, I may be looking into hybrids/electrics as an area of specialisation. There appear to be plenty of charge points appearing around the place, even my local Asda has a few. -

Yeah, it's amazing what a good valet can do? While we are on the subject of valets, how does everyone feel about 'steaming' interiors? I was was hearing from an car upholsterer a few weeks back about how 'steaming' does a good job of removing dirt/stains and glue needed to assemble the seats? -
Thank god it's not just me then

Talking of valeting and not that I like to 'burn' fellow traders, but check out the 'stainage' on the seats of this car? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201704104266470?price-to=2000&radius=50&maximum-mileage=90000&exclude-writeoff-categories=on&advertising-location=at_cars&year-to=2006&model=207&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&make=PEUGEOT&fuel-type=Petrol&sort=price-asc&aggregatedTrim=S&minimum-badge-engine-size=1.4&quantity-of-doors=5&postcode=ig62ln&maximum-badge-engine-size=1.4&page=1 -

Didn't there used to be a guy call Paul Mimmack who sold ex police vehicles. I think he had an article about him in Autocar magazine back in the day -
