  1. Only the basic report is visible to the public . No finance , No cat c/d /s/n showing . Any more and they have to buy the experian report for around £15 or £25 ish for 5 checks . I looked on one of our own adverts when it started .
  2. That's fraud , hope you can prove it too . talk about a set up Another lesson though is to CHECK invoices every time
  3. That's exactly what i told the guy on the phone , ALL pro dealers can be seen checking cars cant they , Total insult to us all in my mind . AND I TOLD HIM SO TOO
  4. If your not aware there are trials at a couple of BCA auctions going on right now were they have introduced another check system . For cars without the assured report they are trialling a check that checks lights , horn , indicators , and a few simple checks . All for the sum of £7.50 per car . With this so called check there is no claims procedure at all . Seems to be another way of attaining £7.50 x a few thousand cars to me . they have phoned me to ask if I like it or not so I said no as every pro trader looks at those items anyway so why charge us £7.50 . I bought over 300 cars last year from BCA and if that was all essential checked my bill would have been in the region of £2,500 or approx £50 a week . What will these crooks think of next to skin money from us . I would tell your local auction how you feel the next time your on the email system , if we all shout loud they might back down . Never know . Or Is it a good idea ?
  5. ????????? Just me then ? I don't get this thread or am due to be taken away
  6. Do this job correctly and with interest and you shouldn't have time for gyms , spars , beauty parlours and photo booths . Have to decide if your running a car dealership or a poodle parlour . Next thing you know Gyms ,poodle parlours and beauty salons will be selling cars and that would really make us mad wouldn't it
  7. Cant see how you can choose a target mkt these days myself as every ones online looking at adverts . All customers are different , some think they know how it all works , others haven't a clue but if they have the means to pay they are very welcome . Cant judge a book by it's cover these days either not like a few years ago , I have had some dodgy looking characters on face value come to view cars , but they are the nicest people ever , some suited and booted types are horrible people , all left after paying though . How do you not sell locally , wait till the invoice is filled in and ask them to leave because your too close I like all people providing they have the money to spend , not bothered about what they wear or if they are affluent or not . We sell in the same price bracket 6k/20k and you get all sorts from every angle of life . Sub prime finance people are getting the norm now too , but they've been to rent some dosh ltd and will pay you debit card /cash / bank transfer . Regards kids , well "man comes in and likes the car " , but wants to bring the wife/ girlfriend back "it happens " they come back with two kids , at what age are they asked to leave ? Might find the new generation are a little different too a few years ago I'm thinking , we would all like to achieve your ideal sales model buts its really not like that nowdays in my opinion anyway All the best in your chosen selling model though , hope it works well
  8. Ah forgot that typical VAG fault , we get them on SEAT's and Golfs all the time , mostly rear doors same locks as the R32's know doubt They are useless
  9. Trouble with the VAG TSI engines now though is the bloody chain really wants changing for the updated version with new tensioner . They get very expensive to prep , leaving not much profits in the things . Time you've finished spending and paying margin VAT the profits only pennies if your lucky half the time . People pay way too much for these cars in auctions then finding the spend is eating profits like water down a drain pipe ,The others that do nothing to these cars must be running the " I've just bought this car and its misfiring " call gauntlet + whats the warranty cover call . At that point it gets very expensive doesn't it because your in the hands of the other garages and their labour charges . Your lucky you found the problem in my mind before Joe public found it . Hope it goes ok for you now when you get it back and sold .
  10. You want to check the tax on those buggars Some are £535 I reckon , Customer comes here to have one fixed on a very frequent basis and we were talking to him about the tax on it . Handbrake assembly is dealer only and its made of chocolate too . Hope you hit the bottom line on px deal
  11. This is basically the trouble with the modern society isn't it . 90% of people are aggressive from word go when a fault occurs . Lets google the latest pillock that writes online about a subject he doesn't even know about and then spout that clap trap in an aggressive manner because my 70,000 mile £2,000 car has got an EML light on . 1 ;I know my rights , its your fault , you must have known it was faulty , I can reject it , It was there from when i collected it . I want it fixing free . NOW , Instead of ring ring 2; Hello my names !!!!! you know the !!!!!! I bought last week its developed an EML light and just thought if I popped in you might look at it for me please . Your buying a USED car that's been round the world Three times and has multiple people driving it , hundreds of moving parts that DO wear . Its NOT new so respect it and don't expect a new one . When / If something does go wrong its because cars DO wear out on a variable time span till we throw them away . Plus its always better to be polite at first and its probably going to get any faults done so much quicker . This was based on real life last week , Lad buys a Corsa , two weeks later EML comes on , its needed a Lamba probe when we plugged it in , When its in stock I'll ring you I said . OK lad goes thanks . Left him message NEXT day , Hi Parts in , you ok to pop in and we will fit while you wait . He didn't get the message , didn't open his messages . Two days later dads on phone threatening to bring it down and leave it here , I told him to listen to his sons messages and wind his neck in . Son came down , said dad was a horrible aggressive lunatic that never gets anything done because of his attitude . We fitted his Lamba and he was off happy without getting worked up ., Mum phoned me to apologise about husbands aggressive manner So billy joe public calm down and be nice , stop reading tripe online and you may well live a long and happy life getting small and large problems that do come to haunt everyone at times fixed in a timely professional manner . But do also remember we can tell when YOU are not telling us the full whole truth and nothing but the truth .
  12. Your a trader charge yourself trade money " simples " You can sell them at what price you like cant you .
  13. Plenty of VW stuff with no air . Someone owned it before so it will sell , they like VW stuff because they are reliable
  14. The guy on the trumpet is pretty good at that isn't he .
  15. All over a bonnet cable , "wow " Why does everyone have to threaten people over a £20 fix . That comment was buyers remorse wasn't it , decided she wants a different car .
  16. Doesn't take that long to become a millionaire in the motor trade . You have to START with a £1,000,000 and see if you can still have a Million next year , then you KNOW you can be a pro Car Trader ,
  17. We have the Snap On Solus Pro and the top end Autel + a MAC Version plus VAG Com , they all do different jobs to varying degrees of ease and standard Umesh . Its always best to show the guys in the workshop what you have in mind , then get one or the other loaned to you and get the guys to try them out ,
  18. Do you trade cars ? How Long have you been doing so if you do ?
  19. Sounds like buyers remorse , just found out it wont be worth above £1,500 next year with another 15k on the clock and the wifes threatening to stop his allowance . Plus he may have to replace some parts after 6 times round the planet and 10 yrs . Shopping outside his budget I reckon . Plus the MAIN dealers just love milk this type of situation on the chance you may send them a cheque for £3,000 to get it all done . .
  20. Not round here ,Car traders are dropping like lemmings they are , either building on the plots , Selling caravans , Selling Vans ,or doing a runner But you cant get a plumber though at any price
  21. What did the customer pay ? What mileage has that car done ? What car is it ? He's expecting over 3k in fixes Took him 7 weeks to wear it out too
  22. Damn I missed it Great News Mark , Look a lot better on someone elses drive
