  1. BCA do post the charges , but only the private buyers fees , only ever have done , Silver /Gold /Platinum & Black have never been displayed
  2. Aston Barclay are the cheaper , because you don't have to start at the bottom of the buyers pile , same fees for all buyers
  3. RS it was , I still cant understand the no profit thing though , That's for sure ,
  4. Only one sensible answer to profits isn't there As much as possible is the truthful answer . More on some and less on others is the blinding truth , If you get the calculator out , pye charts , graphs and all the rest of the calculations regarding % this and % that , you are doomed I say doomed ****eg ******Golf TSI in the block other day , Needed two bumpers painting , 4 tyres , three wheel refurbs , BCA assured pointed to manifold problem and it rattled on start up , Needs chain then . Retail it would fetch £8295 tops at age and mileage . Spend if you do it yourself , is around £600 /£900 depending on what sort of tyres needed , Made £7250 OUCH , + fees and report out the door say £7600 ish Assume the wheels are not going to be done , 2 month MOT left lets leave that , Switch EML light off "await warranty call " as going to deny manifold and chain was faulty and Paint is done £200 if cheap Tyres have no choice as 2mm only So £200, still makes it £8,000 on the showroom floor + advert , +valet , as a min that takes £200 which now makes £8200 and still a mess really plus it needs chain and manifold . saw it up at £8495 Now thats two months ago , still for sale , but now its £7595 , clearly this so called trader has forgotten what he paid or it . ****Another last week ***. Megane , local guy to us paid £16,500 on hammer plus fees , needed MOT , Service and new tyres 3mm rear 1mm front , Its on sale at £17,295 , I wanted to sell it at £16,495 and that was on the high side really plus I like to earn money out of it ,so shows what he paid over book for the bloody thing . Then tries to gross about £300 out of it . Be £99 left after Advert , MOT , VAT , and a wash Funny trade at present
  5. On Any MOT cert thats missing on cars we have bought I have just printed the MOT history papers off the GOV site CHECK MOT HISTORY " MOT History " in fact we check every MOT History on all cars purchased . Give that to customer as it gives Expiry date as well . Not a certificate anymore really is it , all been online for ages now .
  6. if your VAT registered then yes .the fee is subject to VAT on top of the charge you said to the owner .
  7. Trader friend of ours , sold a car £9,495 on credit card . 4 months later its back with 9k on clock stating its not fit for purpose , Customer got money back from Credit card company minus usage £450 , the car is a bloody mess , wheels kerbed , paint damage , cig burn in seat , stinks of weed , all tyres changed for ditch finders cheap stuff . Total set up it was . His fault though , hard lesson , costly lesson , Anyone NEW TO CARDS , Remember , DONT Take CREDIT cards EVER , As Jason above says , £1 you could be in trouble , a YEAR later Too
  8. Barclay card with Payzone are offering some great rates . Money in day after and moving very soon to same day or next day depending what time the money was took . Tip for keeping track like trade vet has said is "end of day bank every deal " and write every card transaction reg and name of card holder in a book next to the terminal , hi light every amount when end of day has been done then you can trace every payment , "simples " . Used to use Transax but got a little expensive , Barclay card was half . Terminal is £19-£25 and % is negotiable , depends on how much you take i suppose . TOP TIP , Never take money on the phone EVER , NEVER EVER got It NEVER take money over the phone , PIN only . Take a deposit over the phone of no more than your prepared to lose is GOOD advice I take £100 ONLY on the phone , NO exceptions EVER
  9. Phew that's great news , Don't panic Mr Mannering any more Seriously , we can laugh now , pleased the money is with you Tony .
  10. Buy It Now Car Auction mmmmmm BUT with fixed prices even more of an mmmmmmmm Thinks we smell Bull S dont you ? Some poor smuck is going to fall for this scam , then be on here with bleeding hearts , going on about how it should always be straight and above board . Bet the deposits are fun to get back when the cars not there
  11. BCA is bending over to the vendors , brown nosing all the way , Vendors have taken over the running of the sites , this is where the problems are coming from regards car parking for us traders . Vendors want to keep us away from viewing and listening to the cars in my opinion and buy online , add up the online fees 40,000 cars at online buyers charge , min staff needed , No cafe to run , cut down on girls on the windows taking payments and eventually no need for expensive auctioneers either , Vendors made BCA notts build new halls so supermkt buyers didn't have to walk from one hall to another so they spent a cool million putting two new halls back to back to keep the powers that be happy . they cant just be happy and leave it as it is , each new generation has to interfere . Next generation will wonder why its not working , and reinvent a new system of lets invite traders to bid on site again , we could even put a thing called the auctioneer on a stool to take bids Funny world isnt it
  12. Reading this thread makes me love my card terminal Cash thats 4 days in unknown cyber space would really make my blood boil I dont trust people now days to pay unless it in my bank showing up on the screen or chip and pin debit they are NOT leaving
  13. Trouble with main dealers are they employ 17yr old apprentices and one master tech who doesn't get involved with older cars , least thats the case round here anyway . I run one of these 5.0 litre XFR beasts , love it , but my son works on it so its not been near a main dealer , i will ask him when he gets back if he knows anything about your problem , seems coincidental that's its happened after the injector work , He's had mine in a million bits changing chains and tensioners and guides , new pulley on super charger , VVT parts replaced before the re map , never had water problems though . How many miles has it done ? cos some things changed in the engine on various years .
  14. Some Trade insurance companies do take private NCB over to trade , Someone i know has just started and done it with Covea I think the company is , took his NCB from his private policy and lumped across his new trader policy . They only deal with a broker i reckon too , so may need to ask your broker .
  15. Buy a van with VAT and sell with the vat because you have paid it on purchase . WHY would I as a van buyer thats VAT registered buy from you then because you cant give me a VAT invoice to claim it back . I would move on from your advert if i was looking . Then buy from a Vat registered trader . Only works if your car trading but not VANS .
  16. Like watching paint dry with NO hardener in it , Rubbish , my daughter tried the AA seriously its rubbish , she finished with them and their own admission it didn't work My advice , don't waste your money
  17. BCA will clear the finance , sometimes this happens , Depends how you feel though I suppose , If the worst happens they will have to take it back from you. But I wouldnt worry really , time its prepped and pictured it will have clearance .
  18. I love those sorts How long you had it ? Longer than you How much did you pay for it ? little as possible How much will you take ? Let me read the advert Whats your lowest price for cash ? Why should I lower my standard of living to improve yours ? I have sold my px so I'm a cash buyer . You will be needing a car quick then so you had better make me an offer above screen price ,
  19. SUPPOSED to be franchised dealers only but Iv'e seen on Sytner that the mechanics/ staff sell their cars on the site if they want too . All a con every where you try really , just got to tread careful
  20. Only ever bought two cars from those crooks One was a Citroen C1 that was that badly described and lied about that much it actually looked like someone had put number plates on a different car when we saw it . I took it back with two huge gym guys and threatened to tip it upside down at the depot , We were refunded including travel costs , amazing what 24 stone of muscle does x 2 they actually had the car up on its side ready to go over . The other was a direct opposite of conning us but still a stitch up , The car was described as heavily chipped on bonnet , One key , NO Service history , Tyres less than 3mm . Screen cracked , Key mark on off side wing and drivers door , SEAT Cupra R in Blue , Anyway we had a customer desperate for that car and won the bid which surprised me as it went CAP clean , We do our own paintwork , Windscreens are easy as its almost next door , , Fit own tyres so thought there's still a profit " though not enough really " in the car after the work as it was sold for a good price to our customer . Gets to pick up the car and its paint work is Immaculate , NO Marks or chips at all , Screen as new , Two Keys , FULL Service history with Cam belt history , Four tyres at 6mm min Clearly this was earmarked for someone else but had to go thru the bid system didn't it , I just outbid them simple as that . Last time i ever logged on , Scam . Lies , Deceptive , My view only mind , Sooner the car in the flesh myself
  21. Bet she still makes him Horlicks at night too some serious plonkers about isn't there , If they had to buy multiple cars a month they would starve to death . We've had that senerio , Its £12,995 no matter who buys it I say , but its very nice to meet your mum / dad though .
  22. One or two laundries round here
  23. Not been quite today just been a stupid day Had two today on £17k + cars , Got neg equity on the px on finance by a few Quid " well nearly 4k actually . Doesn't get the neg equity is their debt NOT mine Yea but don't I hand it back when I want If you can get near £300 a month for 36 months I'll take it with me today one said , Other had less money per month What planets are they coming from Been a hard day today , another two less priced cars £3,495& £6495 , one 19,000 miles one 22,000 miles , One wants £900 for a Punto 51 plate 103 k that a steam roller ran into last week yea literally squashed it , BYE The other had a Mazda 2 109,000 on clock 09 plate and wants 3k for it because that makes the finance figures meet her needs , BYE Well , er , But ,can we test drive them anyway , No , bye Oh well another day tomorrow and yesterday was so different too .
