We have had a PX Jimny in today , 65k on clock 53 plate had it from new , lady said if you take the radio out for me you can call it quits cos its failed its MOT and its not worth anything she even had the original radio bless her . 3. Should have been scrapped as they came out the factory hate the bloody things
  4. Too much sugar in sticky buns Jason for me Never ending , It will go on & On & On &ON omg that sounds like Celine Dion song , think it was her anyway
  5. We all hate the Autotrader bill Ozz that's for sure . Well those of that use them anyway . I think it depends a lot on a few selling skills and what stock type a trader sells as to if AT is worth the investment each month , lots make it work some don't . I see it as a business decision investment to trade with Autotrader . If it doesn't work each month and doesn't make YOU a decent profit then its not for you , It works very well for us indeed i hate / love to say , but AT is without doubt the leading site and has been for lots of years , THEY know that fact as well as lots of us traders . Its called supply and demand , if I was in charge of AT it would be £100 extra , what would you charge ? if your cars were flying out faster than you could buy them they would be £100 extra on the screen . What ever method you chose to sell /advertise your own stock is very personal to your stock levels , expectations of earnings , profit margins you work on , type of stock , where you are located , type of customer you need or want to attract , so many variations that will affect any business decisions you make . So as much as I wish my AT bill was less than £2,800 a month that it is , as a business it earns a lot more than that number and I mean a lot more , I have tried other ways and for US it didn't work but for many other for what ever reason it does work , If I ditch AT I would not earn the amount of money I do so although £2800 is a fair chunk of money its a tiny expense at the side of the profits , pure business decision simple as that So Ozz I'm out and wont be joining your protest march to Manchester , got some cars to sell . All the best though and i really am pleased Ebay pro and Car guru is working for you as its not a system I could say the same about unfortunately as it didn't work for us . Not easy out there just now keeping it earning and you have to make the best choices for your own business
  6. There is VAT on the price , its just quoted as inc VAT and not plus VAT
  7. Buy Now are the shitters that didn't sell , they advertise everything at CAP money on that part of the site , stay away , stay away from buy it now cos its broke dont sell sale at all auctions , Be lucky if they take that back in my mind .
  8. Dont we know it too , saw a Disco last month that's lived up your end of the world all its life , Wasn't a Nut & bolt underneath it that had threads left rust was holding it together and it only had 23k on the clock at 8 yrs old , owner must have had a SALT Mine
  9. Especially when they have a px " Well I've never seen that before "but you have just inspected the car your looking at buying for paint work "
  10. Got quoted £180 yesterday for 10 cars and £260 for 25 cars both inc VAT They are after customers because of the TV adverts . The free responses we get because of the clickdealer feed have never worked for us really . Car Guru told me yesterday you can expect 2 to 4 sales a year from the free feed . I hate the fact that they tell customers how long youv'e had the car in stock and explained it actually makes you rude on the phone to customers . EG : Whats the best price because you have had the car in 24 days My answer goes " well I like it " shuts that down . I was told the free feed adverts have email responses that can go in customers junk file , because of the reply content . Never did work out what content gets junked though . BUT Ive always had better results if i send "Thanks for the response , please ring 01######### regards David" , if you mention eg ;Sales , Car , Web Site , SEAT/ Renault So & So , my email is blah blah , I reckon the system picks key words out and shoots them into junk land , but thats just my own theory .
  11. Notts BCA have permanently concreted the fences in to reduce car parking . The place isn't worth a light now , not like it used to be .
  12. 40k and ours is on 3rd clutch , they are baby clutches though , not made for off road really I suppose . The four wheel vacuum pipes shit themselves too . Front King bearings Die . , rust can eat them away at rear as well . .
  13. Your being a skin flint in fact you might be robbing him even . Hes not robbing you at that money . Especially if hes a good painter . Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten if your customers cant see his work , hes a keeper .
  14. Horrible to drive on tarmac but very competent off road , had one in the family for a while now Y reg 40k on clock , paid £250 for it in Auction 5 yrs ago and now I'd get £2,500 /£3k for it easy . Madness just pure madness what they fetch .
  15. My thoughts entirely Rory . If I had to wait with customer then I'd class that as down time and down time comes at a cost to my wallet , I charge more than the card terminal company charges me for my own time . Done it twice now , both took bloody ages , 4 hours plus we had to keep customer happy in shifts , just because she didn't have her card with her , been cheaper to deliver it and take the terminal with us for payment Other one was the same , hour and half of purgatory with customer going hope it goes thru " well your not taking it till it does i thought . As I said though it does depend on the size of each traders operation and how busy they are though . But to you knew starters , when you get bigger , presuming you do i guarantee your new friend will be the Card terminal
  16. When you get busy and sell to more customers , you seriously haven't the time for bank transfers , as much as I like them for being free I cannot justify not having a card terminal . Today 3 customers all together , two finance applications , both wanted to pay deposits on card , The other guy wanted to pay debit card and go , Card terminal was hot to take £12,000 + and enable the customers to collect and go . I haven't got the time to check payments have gone in , cant be asking people to wait for clearance as I want them gone too , Got things to do eg ; next customer , prepping , tel calls , emails , loading stock , and all the other jobs we all have in this industry . The more business you put through a card terminal the more companies want your business and will lower their rates A LOT to get you on board . 98% of our sales are debit cards for either deposits , finance deposits or total sales , 2% is bank transfer or cash and normally its the small stuff "PX and such " that's a cash or transfer . We DONT take credit cards for car sales though the exception is for "service invoices eg , tyres , selling polishes , Cloths , Number Plates and Engine services , repairs , diagnostics and such ." then I don't mind Credit cards . So the answer is , depends on how busy you are as to if you can manage without a terminal . Wouldnt entertain the weird types of card jobbies personally , cash , transfer OR a bona fida terminal from eg Barclay card and the rest of the others , Payzone , transax etc Just my view mind .
  17. Only tools that work properly , My Lad has Snap on and Mac tools worth more than my house then i figured I'd bought both tools and house
  18. Probably got wrong oil in it , Some just put 10w/40 in and they run shite " might the mid range issue " on any other than proper Ford spec 5w/30 fully They are oil sensitive I know that from experience of some px self serviced shit we get in . Oil Filter inc 5w/30 Ford spec fully , and a thrashing can bring readings down . Lamba might do it too though
  19. Found out he had to fix an auction car probably Sounds easy doesn't it , buy from auction and sell for huge profits , retire to the sun Back to the daily job and a safe wage no doubt ,
  20. I'll second that thought , Shameful behaviour from a liar and the judge
  21. That's how i feel , love the people abroad , just wish they still had their own identity and currency and some one squashed the EU building . As you say back on thread sorry OP
  22. Why we need to leave the corrupt party , greedy beggars
  23. Been very quiet here for a couple of weeks really , still sold some but not the usual buzz in last couple of weeks . Today I came prepared to drink coffee , catch up , have a chat , Being Mothers day BUT had one guy waiting for me this morning , two calls as I unlocked and they came too an hour later . Two people decided to collect today instead of in the morning So sold 3 and they left the building , with the two collections we lost five in two half hours . Result , No coffee , No chat , Should of finished early today for family lunch but now waiting for another customer . " I cant say no " Never tell in this job can you , No pattern, no reason , just either flat out or stationary . Hope it picks up for you that's having it slow ,
