  1. Done that loads and i mean loads of times . Put price up and sold it in a very short time after for the increase price , happy days . Think at £9,990 you might just be missing the 10 k + searchers If I searched 10k to 11k I would not find you would I all for the sake of a tenner Change the screen price too or you may lose out on the increase
  2. I had a dreamer yesterday . Left a £100 deposit at 1.30am direct to our web site . I rang him at 9.30 am and arranged the visit to see car , 217,000 mile vectra px told him its £100 scrap . All agreed then , New car is £8,295 minus £200 deposit and px balance £8,095 Debit card , no need for finance , taking car home with him . Ok I'm on the way down , 140 miles away by the way . Gets to us , looks at new car , test drive and loves it . Gets back and he goes right we just need to negotiate the prices I want £500 for mine , and i only have £7,500 for yours so lets do the paper work shall we NO i say your car is not even going to get home with the smoke its churning out , and we agreed the £8,095 didnt we . All Iv'e got is the £6,900 , NOPE sorry . He's on phone to wife getting a proper ear bashing , anyway result he went home in his old banger , got 40 miles away and broke down " would have been Turbo " , rang me to ask what i was going to do about it , then got his wife on phone asking same question , my fault for not taking the bid she said , Your car , you sort it I said . This morning she rang to ask for the deposit back " she called it a reservation Fee " and help with the towing bill Of her old banger . NOPE , NOPE was the answer so Pond life , Bottom feeders, Dreamers and deception covers those two for sure . Wasted one and half hours of my life .
  3. They post them on Ebay for security its where i found all the parts from one car i bought off them
  4. I've Resisted those machines and even change channel when the advert on TV goes on about boiling water from the tap I'll lose eventually though I think the wife is a Ninja really My Edit Button Works Must be a CRA law to cover edit buttons surely , its discrimination for one to have access and not another , Must be written in EU law somewhere . They have 500 pages on how to pick Lettuces don't they , edit buttons must be more important then Lettuces now days . Contact that duffus in Belgium " Barmy barny " he will fix it
  5. Said they wanted TV's fixable as well they are like phones now , fashion items My wife falls out with kettles before they have finished boiling water , Too noisy , don't pour right , cant fill it properly , wrong colour , handles too short , doesn't balance right , lids too hard to get off ,Boils slow and that's just DEC Silly EU rules yet again that finish up costing us more money in my view
  6. They should look at DIY car self serviced experts actually saw brake pads fitted upside down last week on off side outer pad .
  7. Agreed , No Loan cars here either ,
  8. I could write a book Dave Your right there have to see the funny side when you get a complete fool in , I have fun with the idiots i must admit , not worth getting stressed over It obviously hasn't been driven very far has it , is my reply
  9. Just had one ask me , How many owners ? Two Keys ? Service history , Will it be serviced before leaving , Does it have a new MOT , Any wear on the leather , Has it got Mats ?. Is the tyre tread above 5mm all round ? , Whats your warranty involve ? Any dents 2 owners , two keys and YES to the questions , No to dents and leather wear He goes oh that's perfect £8,795 screen Well on that basis I'm prepared to travel the 200 miles and I can offer £7,500 . Told him to save up £1,295 and pop down to see us . If you cant quite get to the price we offer finance , Maybe £1,295 deposit and rest over 48 months would suit you better . Told me he will call at end of Jan when I will have to take £7k HAHA . Cant wait for the call
  10. I always add £500 and tell em that's a much better price
  11. God that guy in the cafe is miserable isnt he . Platinum card is supposed to be half price and he tries it on all the time but you half to get a paper slip at reception as well , cant just present the card . We wrote on one slip " Marks sausage voucher Mr cafe didn't see the funny side " If you do that again i might not take it " think you got robbed though

Q " do you know what petrol its had in it " A;; I need a crystal ball for that question , Q; How old was the last owner ? .A ; same age as you Q; will you put 4 new tyres on ? 5 mm all round A ; That will be £450 extra then he lost interest in tyres at that point Q; does your warranty cover everything ?, No its yours to look after . Q; it has a stone chip on the bumper ?, I left that there so you had something to moan about Q; Got to ask the wife A; Don't rush cos I've got ask my mum if i can sell it
  14. FIND & FUND by Moto Novo was the next big thing to take on Auto Trader I did quite well when they were spending MILLIONS on advert money , when advert money slowed down I did NOTHING for a long time and now its gone free because they cant charge for something that's not working as intended . Lucas they spent MILLIONS of ££££££££££££ getting the site going , Your not the first to think you can take Autotrader on and you wont be the last either . They are MKT Leaders because they have served their time for many years and are a WELL Known NAME . Result is they sell more cars than most of the other sites put together . Car Gurus said to me before Christmas you can trial us free till Jan 8 WEEKS and not one call or email , just as i forecast to them . Autotrader has sold 21 of my cars before Christmas , 7 between Christmas and new year and 4 this week , all phoned on call tracker " this is a call from autotrader " Yes they know how to charge , but my business is built on burn rate , take the sale and reinvest , I want each car to turn at least 11 times a year , earn top dollar and move on . I also need to do this with min costs so i don't advertise ANYWHERE else that charges , except Autotrader . I'm not a fan of the cost , of course I'm not , but reducing costs to increase earnings is not my way , Profit is the way forward in my head , burn rate of sales , constant attention to stock turn , but how to do it without losing max profits too . So you know what would put me off your plan , " the word FREE " really insults a workhorse does that , How about the thought of taking Autotrader on by telling me it will sell TWICE as many cars but cost you a £1,000 a month MORE , then we are really cooking on gas aren't we because i'm earning hundreds of thousands £££££££ more for a measly 12 k extra Instead of FREE and i don't sell as many or any cars because there is no investment to spread the news You want to reinvent the wheel I wish you luck , BUT I'm OUT cos while your thinking about the wheel your not selling cars . So who's better off 12 months from now SELL your cars first Lucas , walk before you try to jog Happy and a very prosperous new year to you , " hopefully
  15. Agree with you there Met Had a guy ring us in panic , been told you guys repair cars . Er yes whats your problem ? Cars chucked oil all over my drive . Get it down here then . He tows car down to see us . Last time it was serviced was 4 yrs ago , 3.0 litre V6 petrol S type Jag 128,000 miles . The oil filter was hanging on by a crumb of rust and that was the leak . It also had tape round it to attempt a repair The guy asked us if he could get his own oil from Asda , I told him to collect his car and take it to ASDA for the filter too 4yrs and 40,000 miles on same oil , never heard it running but it must of sounded terrible Charged him £50 + vat diagnosis too
  16. Me personally I cant imagine being off autotrader , Car guru doesn't work for me , Ebay is expensive if its run along side AT and I don't sell enough to warrant thinking about it , I personally don't think i should pay two platforms to advertise the same car BUT it does depend on what you choose to sell , My stuff doesn't sell on Ebay , Motors or CGuru , People know where to find what they are looking for in my opinion and that's where your stock needs to be for sale . All work at different levels . 10 yr old Corsa , EBAY NO Brainer , Three yr old Jaguar XF 3.0 litre Portfolio and its AT NO Brainer , Two extremes I know buts that's my thought on why it works for some and not others . Your job is to find YOUR customers , not them find you . Dangle the bait and the fish will strike if not you need another river or a lake .
  17. The main reason an owner of a car sells it now days by 98% is there is something that needs doing to it , New Brakes , Cam Belt , Turbo Whine , Shocks , Tyres , EGR , and the list goes on . So in my thinking any car price range will need something doing It wont matter what price range your in its going to be a similar story as regards expense of prep mechanically , the only benefit is the more expensive a car the cost seems to be more justified as the parts are the same cost as a £1,999 banger and profits should be higher , Look around on the roads and see what customers are driving , look at the affluence in your area and where you might pull customers from . If they are all on 50cc mopeds or maybe Audi A6's , you might have the answer. All the best and a happy new year
  18. Don't think that's the accepted bit , its now in the hands of your FCA adviser who will complete , not far away at this point . You will receive a FIRM Number when they send acceptance
  19. 4 weeks to 12 weeks seems to be the norm that I've heard of . 6 Months is the worst case , depends if they have all the info correct on the application . Watch out for a rouge call too asking about Finance , that's the way they check sometimes , good plan is to completely deny ALL finance enquiries till you get your number . I had a call and 20 mins later the number came via email , they were testing my integrity
  20. Its all I'd get for it , I never get CAP in auction for the PX Junk that looks like that thing If that was mine I'd let a guy we know ebay for us , He talks to the billies like dog muck on a shoe , they seem to love being spoke to like dirt on a shoe , Don't use auctions very often for the PX stuff nowdays . But I cant stand Ebay talk , certainly wouldn't talk to customers like he does .
  21. Obviously it's working for them. I really wonder if it is working , new name coming soon £495 max bid at a local auction What a pile of shite that is
  22. Great idea but 24/7 will try like mad to get the billy to sign up first before they tell them where your place is ,. Its about time 24/7 appreciated the customers they drag from us and stopped charging us for the privilege . If 24/7 Started selling cars it would be a disaster move on their behalf in my mind .
  23. That's Correct Customer finds your car on 24/7 web site they will charge you £180 + vat Customer finds car on your web site they cant charge you commission . Try passing the cost onto your customer and its illegal unless you advertise all cars with the same admin .
  24. 24/7 are robbing leaches The charge now is £180 = VAT too . Robbers Ask the customer how they found your Car , if its your advert then they 24/7 cant charge you . Tell them there's not enough in the deal and they will reduce the charge . Best still tell them to F##ck off
