  1. They never fix em do they , always make things worse cos they haven't a bloody clue what they are doing , why they do it free lol good luck with the wheels , I love painting , but drying times do drive you mad
  2. Bit of a long ramble is that reply my friend . I fell asleep half way through . Get it back fix it , give it back , don't let his chosen garage or his mate touch it in anyway . 15 hours is a joke . Remember its 11 yr old and you are entitled to use remanufactured or used parts if you wish , *Golden rule* , fetch it back so its all under YOUR Control OR THEY WILL Rip your wallet for sure . Mistake number 1 YOU let his matey fix it , bad move pal .
  3. Think new traders are getting confused myself over the need to earn a PROFIT CAP clean means makes retail money , take it back , moan the job is fu##ed and yer cant earn owt, then repeat till broke Actually heard a guy talking to his co partner at Manheim about getting £200 across it , Sad times Got thick customers trying to finance a 9k motor over 60 months for £200 a month and traders talking about £200 profit on a 5k car . Strange times . And we wonder why prices are all over the place
  4. All depends on what your direction is really , what age , price , type , sports , starter cars , family cars , estates , man or auto , blue or red ,big or little , fast or slow , 7 seater , 4x4 , vans ,need to find a direction your happy with first i reckon , then stock comes from various sources and after a while you will get the feel . Some buy private , some hate auction , some buy from dealers , ebay , online auction , all very different One thing for sure there isn't a one rule one answer fits all and if there was no body will tell you .
  5. Got some of those here too £200 a month for £15,995 motor over 60 months , no deposit , gave guy the calculator and he hadn't a clue
  6. Wouldn't have revved my car to redline without leaving the door of the building very very quickly "preferably horizontal" . Don't let them remove caps , dip sticks or start cars when cold " period " Not qualified in my opinion " On test drive if they do anything remotely stupid I terminate the drive in an instant and drive back with them as a passenger . All about being in control . Take control from the start and they know their place .
  7. Two Cracking Dogs you have there I have two German Shepard's at home after suffering break ins 20 yrs ago we swapped to Dog protection " fully trained on command" fearsome pair too " . One night wife goes there's someone under the car , Went out with the pair of them , one each side of car growling with teeth smiling at him under the car . Pulled him out and left the dogs guarding him from midnight till 6am ,Car was on the back of the house so he was safe all night bless him , called the police and they took him away in a van , not the police car as he had pissed himself in fear as every time he tried moving they went for him growling . It was Feb too and he was frozen stiff " hadn't moved for 6 hours " poor thing haha Didn't half make the police laugh , us too . The guys had steak dinners that night and a few steak dinners before and after too . Still got two Shepard's to this day . I do like Dobermans as well though , just cant justify 4 dogs .
  8. MX5 Owners cant stand em Just slightly worse than Porsche Owners in my view . Both send shivers down my spine , and i really have to sharpen my tongue if we are unfortunate to take one PX just to get my own back , PX questions spin the owners head out and get em wriggling with their lies about its condition and service when I get going . OMG £14 better off without him I reckon
  9. No service history , 135,000 miles for £2.5k and you didn't expect it back . Brave in my view , Only one place for that end of life heap "night auction " Refund , get it back , spin that for 3 weeks and you will need a skip , Lesson learned the hard way "ouch " ps you also need to keep a slush fund in your bank .
  10. Mini Cooper S engines wear the oil rings out quite quickly , 2,000miles can wear them out , known fact , Probably not the head gasket but would be done at repair stage anyway . Anyone repairing one of these engines needs to strip it , re ring it , de coke it , new stem valves , new gaskets , change oil twice and use proper proper oil not rubbish oil . They can use litres oil without smoking , You need it compression testing , diagnostics is not the way to go with this fault , its mechanical pal . My suggestion is the rings were worn at the point you sold it , you just didn't see it coming , 2 k finished the job if Customer wasn't aware it was using oil . Get it back minus mileage charge , pay back , fix it properly and resell . The Cooper S engines are little beggars , great when working but we have rebuilt nearly every one we've ever sold ,minimum they have is chain , tensioner and guides and a new turbo feed pipe . Lesson learned the hard way , but you need it back before the bills start getting silly , My view of course , but I know these little engines very well , they are just so unreliable , even a joey mechanic fixing it wont go far enough and you will bear that problem too if its not fixed properly .
  11. Whats the car pal BMW ? what , mileage and age helps us to see the whole picture here with head gaskets , and valve seals .
  12. Slow learner 2nd time haha You were born to deal , get on with it
  13. Sub Prime sends shivers down my spine . If they were going to reject it I think they have to stop using the car not keep using it for 2,000 miles What the nature of the complaint ?
  14. Had that today David plus other stupid questions Tel Caller ; Iv'e seen an MOT advisory in 2016 for a drivers obligatory mirror on a car you have , can you tell why its now NOT an Advisory . Answer ; Er YES ITS BEEN CHANGED ,had a new mirror Q ;What was it . A ;Cracked Glass Q;How did it crack A;Frost damage . Q;Oh that's ok , can i come and look at the car this afternoon then . I never saw the car till last week , I think some people think we have the cars ready for them round the back for ten years ,
  15. Tester near us , MOT 's his own car , puts legal plates on car in car park , tests car , put illegal plates back on car when in car park .
  16. Two peas in a pod If got tappets I love it .
  17. Never had a proper job "ever " 15yrs old started self employed , Never stopped working since , that was 20 yrs ago lol "i wish " more like 48 yrs ago Never looked back . Retired once 7 yrs ago ,phew , close call that was , bored shitless , soon opened up again , love the deal , live for the deal , always have done . Go for it DC01 But remember this , 12 hours is half a day and theres 7 days in a week , I'm addicted though , Even took a call on Christmas day two years ago and sold a car with a px thats actually come back last week for me to take another £1,500 out of Customers are very kind people
  18. car guru customers hardly ever answer the emails , if they do its whats your best price for this car . waste of time in my view and i would never pay for their service Just me though .
  19. Seen that with Audi Main dealer , same dealer serviced an A4 to 70k miles and when we took the oil filter off the filter was like mushy tissue paper .
  20. Business plans make me laugh . How can you put a business plan together when the cost of each car is so variable , return price of said cars is so variable depending on how much each car needs spending on it to make it saleable. Then even if one car sold quick it doesn't mean another will sell at the same price or same speed as the last one . Chances are you cant even repeat the same purchase after selling the said car , Turnover is only any good if your rolling on the floor laughing only one thing is important when you work for yourself PROFIT got it . Its all about what you MAKE , NOT what you take .
  21. Haha spot on Nick. My sons one of those , can rebuild anything , great on one hand , but can be restrictive when buying as he spots things most of us don't even know exists . On other hand we get some proper cheap cars that are declared non runners , Swings and roundabouts i suppose Long as we all have fun and make a few quid hey , happy days
  22. Nothing wrong with German cars Skoda , SEAT , inc of course As long as you have 10k invested in special tools and an understanding of diagnostics beyond a Master Tech level Plus the knowledge to replace chains , Tensioners , Manifolds , repair DSG megatronic units , plus a dozen extra parts that affect other parts that bring lights on for no reason If you know all that they are ok . Because god knows how traders afford to fix these things with 3rd party bills and then make a profit . Beggars belief why traders in auctions are so slow to pick up on these failures and how much they cost to fix . Actually watched a Golf R go into BCA with a rattle " needed new chain " , EML declared on and the code on report was not the chain code but a manifold fault . Made £1,050 over CAP clean , Seriously heard said trader say " be a lamba " WOW will he be surprised when he gets the bill Soon need to be a mechanic to sell cars nowdays .
