  2. I was up BB on monday! I usually work out retail then work backwards to what I want to give. I use the guide prices but not for retail only trade and make sure its in the same area I want to pay.
  3. This is a great business to be in I know 2 dent people and they are both pretty well off driving their new VW T5's around all paid for. They do a lot of work abroad as well. hmmm!
  4. Its always the 1 owner cars that are screwed. buy a car with a few more owners and its fine. Been there got the T shirt!
  5. 1 sale, 1 viewing but said " Ill think about it" he was comparing my CRV Diesel to a Xtrail elsewhere and couldnt decide, know what I'd rather have! Dent man came in and tidied some cars up.
  6. Need to talk to the wife! Really? Man up! Some people do come back though so its 50/50
  7. My insurance is only when accompanied by myself. As for test drives one lady simply couldn't drive full stop. after 100 yards of stalling I took over and drove. She bought the car though!
  8. I actually use 50 and found I get more response from it than 95. A few dealers round here use 90.
  9. The most Ill knock off is £200 to get a sale and keep up the turnover some people will ask for more but I just tell them to leave it there then! They forget I'm selling a car to make a living not like a private seller who would knock hundreds off!
  10. I just sit on mine until they sell sometimes I drop them down a bit if they have been sat a while (over 3 months) otherwise I'll just wait.
  11. 1. Ebay 2. AA Cars 3. local paper (works well for the old boys) 4. Own website 5. RAC Dont do A.T and binned Motors.
  12. I used to see cars with extra number plate holes now i know why!
  13. Yes I don't have that many cars. They also provide a free professional website which they are doing for me at the moment. Having the AA brand in your business does help. Ebay is still King but AA is doing very well.
  14. I sold a car 2 months ago to a client in Milton Keynes (I'm in Somerset) They didn't want to drive down but wanted the car. I'm quite lucky as I have a mobile payment terminal so my delivery driver trailers the car up (more professional I think), customer inspects car and once happy payment is taken after. If it wasn't for this then I wouldn't do it. Getting the train from London to Devon is not difficult!
  15. I'm paying £145 per month same as ebay which I also use.
  16. Max try AA cars been on for a month getting genuine enquiries and sales. Just binned Motors.co.uk so have quite a few dealers near me, ramped thier prices up after all this TV advertising and its backfired!
  17. There are special polishes that you can buy for windscreens I've tried a few but glass is very hard, its not like polishing soft laquer to remove scratches. Sometimes its just easier to get a new screen.
  18. The beginning of the year started ok, then march/april was quiet May picked up and June was our best month. The last 3 weeks have been very good indeed with loads of enquiries and sales. This week has tailed off slightly but I'm still positive. Only thing I have noticed is a lack of finance requests. I've not done any finance for months.
  19. I do occasionally sell vans and find it relatively straight forward as customers are not as fussy. Its finding them for a good price the hard bit.
  20. I do a lot of jobs on my cars from services to electrical repairs etc. I enjoy it and it saves me some money!
  21. They'd have more cars on RAC if I could get registered before 2020 Sounds more trouble than its worth
  22. End of the day what are you going to do about the 28 tonne lorry? It aint gonna move for you in your little metal box!
