Customer wants to sell her car back to us 7 months later
It's me replied to David Horgan's topic in General Dealer Chat
You forgot to add that they tell you its also just had a battery and tyres and being decent sorts rather than check we believe them I was told that on my current user only to see the tyres were on the canvas so they were obviously part worn but new to them -
I did some glass ones in the day but modern ones no ,the gunge is too gungy to separate them

The best way to deal with this situation is to say you have spent your buying budget for the month You don't get negative feedback then -
What ever you do dont buy any They will screw you over

Sold the car on eBay auction customer wants refund
It's me replied to Golfather76's topic in General Dealer Chat
ignore the garage you do the mot to prove due diligence if something goes wrong think fatal Road crash dvsa roadside inspection small claims court as adealer you are expected to know the job and so doing a fresh mot shows you are confirming the car was roadworthy on the day you sold it,this is why many of us do a fresh mot on deposit if we think the car is going to be around a while surely you've bought cars and seen thingsthat make you think its had a poor or dodgy test on it? the classic one is low pads as mot man cannot always see them but a proper pdi would you really need to cost this in and use it as aselling point I really hope that helps you it did me ,in court -
maybe she played the key worker approach thinking on I sorned one of my cars for winter and the refund for the tax was in my company name ,previous times itsalways been my name, probablysomething to do with dvla workers working from home as many still are

Problem with showing a prospective buyer the V5.
It's me replied to GWC's topic in General Dealer Chat
the only time I can think of to show a v5 is to show no previous owners I've messaged a few dealers i know and like on autotrader over the last few years to remove the ref number in their photos because if a customer wants to screw them they can use the number to make up a sold name and address thinking back over the years when mr smarty pants insisted on having the log book to cross reference the via numbers they often didnt buy or if they did they always turned out to be the biggest pains in the butt longer term -
what is she hiding here surely she would have put the car to you as in trade I would fight this if paperwork correct
-
hi,I would be taking proper legal advice both to protect you against possible litigation from your customer but also from the authorities,I would also be looking at where my business stood in relation to buying a car sold as genuine mileage when indeed it would appear it had a mileage changer possibly added to the loom, was this still fitted when car went to dealer?can you access lawgistics legal team? you are piggy in middle here not a nice place to be

Sold the car on eBay auction customer wants refund
It's me replied to Golfather76's topic in General Dealer Chat
oldest trick he bought car either to trade on or he can't afford it or he scams as a living whatever you decide to do you need to learn from this experience ie new mot, a proper inspection sheet and a proper receipt at pos I've given up ive never sold a car on auction successfully on a site like ebay its not worth the hassle ferromagnetic spellchecker I'm leaving this one start to finish crush the thing if you think its a heap lifes too short for chancers who hold grudges and know where you live -
well you all seem to be sure this won't cause hassle in the future so thread closed
