  1. Mercedes are a real pain in the arse about this , but if you scan in a purchase invoice as well as the V5 and email it to customer services they do normally come back with the history ...or as mentioned keep trying 'till you get a friendly dealer . best of luck
  2. I use it to bump alongside my other funding , works ok for me , but I agree people may see it as free money that might as well be spent thus pushing up prices.
  3. I'm lucky (?) That BCA Blackbushe is ten minutes away so lately I've been going up early to view the cars I'm after , normally scrubbing 50% as no good then back to the office to bid online during the course of the day. I accept there's a risk of a noisy engine etc,but my hit rate online is about the same as being there and I can get loads done back at base. Jury's out , but for now I'm not freezing my arse off at that God forsaken hell hole ....
  4. Never had problems with BBA myself in the past , but I've got a unit with them at present so be interesting to see if their service has gone south
  5. I Use a local RAC approved garage @ £40 ph trade labour , PDI for me is like a mini MOT ie check lights , levels , pressures & roadtest and advise pads/discs/shocks/tyres/oil leaks etc . That's half an hour , on top we normally do oil & Filter as that earns a stamp in the service book and anything less than six months gets an MOT . So a 'clean' car is about £75 inc oil/filter , hope that helps
  6. Awful cars , never stop suffering....
  7. I had a mapped A3 tdi last year , I was amazed at the power ...but too brutal , in the end I got it mapped back to standard for about £100 if I remember . Money well spent in my experience
  8. As I'm only ten minutes from BCA Blackbushe I'm hoping it's just me wandering around up there today. Bet it's madder than ever as everyone second guesses that everyone else can't be arsed and makes a superhuman effort themselves to get there.... Bacon sarnie it is then !
  9. Yep I'm internet based and a fair few customers say they pitched up off the back of good AT and Facebook reviews , just wish more of the lazy sods would follow through on their promises to leave one too...
  10. Couldn't agree more. we used to up sell external warranties and they were a pain in the backside in terms of admin/payout . we changed to self funded (A1 warranties)a few years back and despite my initial sceptisicm I haven't looked back , wish I'd done it years ago . Every car pops £100 in the pot , 120-150 cars a year soon adds up , customer deals direct with warranty company so they can happily play bad cop and help eliminate the chancers . I feel much more in control now plus it's a good sales tool and builds customer confidence .I would add that we PDI/MOT everything before advertising and have a low claim rate so the fund is really healthy....had a DSG box grenade this month , £1400 bill ..yes it's a bummer but I'll still be well ahead at the years end , not stressed and with happy customers .
  11. If you're still in the pub it's prob the Missus
  12. To be honest I don't know the fuss is about , I'd rather have a multi driver hire car than a one owner Motabilty stinky ,bogey ridden piece of crap any day of the week . You know , just sayin'....
  13. is it just the speedo or the whole dash that dies ?
  14. Locking bloody wheel nut keys that are : A : safely hidden in the last owners sock drawer so they don't 'lose them B . Made of some kind of plasticine based metal. FFS ...who is actually interested in stealing alloys these days ?
  15. Couldn't actually find a space to park at Blackbushe today , glad I buggered off as it was the usual nonsense prices apparantly
  16. This happened twice to me , to be fair to the pro team when I called them it was sorted pretty quick...had someone from fraud inthe states call back and reset everything. But proper pain in the arse !
  17. Actually , that's better as 1 or 2 always seem to get lost in the post . Agreed that holding back is a bit belt and braces , but only taken two cars back in Thirteen years , one was a cheapie P/X to clear and the other was a perfect car with an A/hole rucker...
  18. Nope , always wait a week before posting in case you get some loony wanting to bring a car back
  19. AT and a one off month with Ebay to help a couple of Motorbikes along . Slow start to be honest
  20. Ha , ok you got me....it's plus vat !
