Sparky..assuming AT is one the other forums , which is the third please ? Ta
  2. Just with AT , everything flagged as 'great price' but waster emails aside , very little going on here..
  3. Took an A3 in px recently , DPF had been removed and had been remapped pretty aggressively. Had the tune mapped back to standard but advertised it as DPF Delete and made it very clear to prospective customers , lad who bought was delighted as he was going to rip it out anyway ! Made sure he signed a sis claimed though... Disclaimer ffs
  4. Good work , as said just pop in a few more options ...year/mileage etc , or just mirror Autotrader search box and jib done. Doodle luck to you
  5. I'm fine with 24/7 , easy company to deal with..tho to be fair I've a right sub prime knocker causing me grief via advantage as they haven't got the balls to tell him how it is . I wonder if you unlist a car on AT for a day it will 'reset' on Cazana as I agree , along with Car gurus , showing how long its been listed sucks .
  6. What's the problem with having your adverts on there as you see it then ?
  7. I've just cross referenced a dozen of my cars and quite like that the Cazana suggested retail prices are really close to AT retail check 'good' prices which is where most of stuff sits. Two benefits spring to mind , one being a second retail (free) price check tool , the other being a way we can demonstrate to customers our cars are fairly priced in market. Can't see a downside if it brings incremental business. All I need now is some customers.......sigh
  8. Icontrol is an amazing bit of software but didn't work for me as It was steering me towards cars that didn't really fit my stock profile...prob handy for car supermarket type operation where they buy lots of cars online. Agree with Dan W re Retail check , but it is a time saver if you're checking a fair few prices daily . I'm trialing it at present , don't use CAP or Glasses anymore and only advertise on the 'walled garden' that is AT so it's fairly accurate for my needs .
  9. Hi , we always have few cans of black and dark grey plastic paint for bumpers on hand , they are perfect for interiors and scuffed up boots etc.
  10. We scrapped our contract with AT a couple of months ago , but kept the razor site showing all our stock (15-20)and just put 2-3 cars on a pay as you go basis . Everything else is with Ebay / Motors / Facebook /RAC and I would say their effectiveness is in that order too . AT just too expensive .....don't miss that £1500 bill for sure . Good luck !
  11. I've taxed a few runaround cars that are on MID & in trade on the new keeper slips , they then show online as taxed , when sold the customer gets the remaining tax .... Not a big loss if it's a £30 a year job and it came in with a full tank of diesel to start with . Not sure how that sits with DVLA , but there's always an amount of time between taxing cars for customers on delivery and Swansea receiving V5 . just my gap may be a bit longer than usual......
  12. Agreed , Zuto dead easy to deal with and you can sell the car without discount , that said we also take a deposit to take car off sale
  13. Very quiet month , poor year to be fair.....
  14. Hi James , My A1 rep is Mark Peacock , 07831 510029 , mention Dave @ Moto Exchange if you like . Looks like I should be careful with EPG ! Plenty of people I know in the trade have been using these guys for years , no probs , should have taken their advice ages ago.. Also , you can pay for repairs direct from your business if you like & leave the fund alone to spend on something more interesting ! Let us know how you get on
  15. Couldn't agree more , just loaded up my first twenty cars onto the RAC website , fingers crossed...
  16. Hi James , A1 Approved , been with them about a year now and it's been very straightforward , can be all done online at point of sale & If a customer does call them with a claim they will do their best to ensure you get fair a fair price on repairs . To be honest , they fight your corner.....but I've yet to have a customer come back to me unhappy and you'd be suprised how quick your fund grows . As long as you prep your cars right , this seems to work . Also FYI we use EPG warranty Assist for any upsold product or if we sell anything a bit , well , French , I suppose.....
  17. In reply to Chris and James , if you use a separate company to administer your (self funded) claims then you don't have to get involved at all , they supply glossy warranty books to give to the customer with their contact details...but all the money in the 'pot' is yours . Very happy with this set up , wish I'd done it years ago....
  18. Agree with Max , we spent years selling / including upmarket warranties....but most customers aren't really interested about protecting themselves from a random event in the future , let alone paying for the privilege .If you include it in the price it's assumed to be rubbish.. The last 12m we have used A1 warranties to administer our own fund and couldn't be happier , we set aside £100 per car and give the customer a basic 3m/3000m warranty . If they want a 'bumper to bumper' insurance backed warranty in line with , for example , Warranty directs offer we can supply similar and make a small profit on the sale . Have a nice little nest egg built up in the fund and the customer deals direct with the warranty company...easy !
  19. With the exception of June the entire year so far is about 30% down on where we should be , very little activity & lots of 'think about it' customers . Seems like a buyers market for sure , reducing prices doesn't seem to really get things going...yet prices at auction still strong , go figure . FYI , we are a small , appointment only dealer 20ish cars £6-£10k late /high mileage ex lease stuff, but well prepped...maybe this stock is out of favour ? Good luck guys Dave
