  1. Just noticed this sale at Blackbushe , any idea where these cars are from guys ? Sounds like a marketing term for 'Shagged Px'

  3. Interesting thread , I'm on free package too LOTS of leads that I reply to with our number and rarely get a reply. Was talking to them today think a 6month deal around £200 for 12 cars is possible ...going to have a look at my AT costs as the half price deal ending soon.
  4. I'm in between yards at the moment and cancelled the card machine when we left the last premises . Trading from home until we can get sorted but we are insisting on Bank transfer or cash if customer insists and surprisingly haven't lost a sale because of that. Most of my stock is c£6-£10k , but we will retail cheapie P/X's too .
  5. Yes , unfortunately , it prob needs recalibrating .Pricey at a main agent but it does need proper Vagcom to set up so if you've got a good independent local that's your best bet . Safe to say I'll not be buying another one soon !
  6. Just about to check out insurance for my 17yr old daughter also so any tips greatly appreciated . Given that my wife wrote of a CRV earlier this year (bless) I doubt my trade insurance would entertain another family member !
  7. Yep always before , and it's not just that customers are impatient...I dont need to see 'em twice either .
  8. +1 on the rubber brush , then just dye/aerosol the carpet over the top
  9. I can assure you that you can backdate further than the 'in trade' date , it's only a minimum wage bod at Swansea doing 'data entry' when they receive the V5 after all . Unless anything has changed recently . The Focus that came out of BCA/UK select was purchased Aug , backdated to Jan in my name and sold to Evans in Sep , for money back (Knackered injectors , smoke from cold) . I guess that was my one opportunity gone !
  10. Back dating is do-able , I've got rid twice to WBAC and once to Evans (who were spot on by the way ) , squeeky bum time while you're sat in the office and they scrutinize everything! The one to Evans was a UK select funnily enough !
  11. Same here , sent chq 31st Dec , got a letter today saying Plates revoked . Rang DVLA who said send us another chq in the post (recorded this time) but you can't use your plates for about four weeks. Cheeky B3stards....
  12. My Charles wet vac has finally died...that titan is pennies in comparison to replace , are they comparable ? sorry to go a little off topic.
  13. Love CRV's here , you'll have no worries fella , cars are good , customers sensible ...though if buying , EX is the one !
  14. Razor blade ...thought every trader had one up their sleeve ? As for that sticker on the rear view mirror.....don't get me started
  15. I had this recently on an old crapper to clear and wondered if it's to stop 'sold as seen/sold on trade basis/sold for spares . Just swapped in 'Supplied' instead and all good .

No way are you getting in a car at Blackbushe
  17. Straight to Gold also , just showed them some proof that we were buying regularly from Aston Barclay , they were fine .
  18. I fully sympathise , lost my yard of 13 years to development in the summer and have been flat out trying find an alternative ever since . Have been doing a bit on SOR on mates sites but bit the bullet and have started to do some bits from home , not ideal but keeps you busy . Its weird , about a month after being siteless and with the big bills stopping (AT , rent..) I wasn't enitrely sure I wanted to leap back in tbf , but you're right , It's in the blood . Good luck with the depression , I know it's a tough journey myself and keeping busy is a key part of getting back on track . Good luck
  19. I never understand the last minute thing , if the system bids on your behalf just put in you big boy top bid and get on with the day . If you feel you lost it for £25 , why didn't you bid £30 higher in the first place ? You have no way of knowing whether the winning bid sat £25 OR £2500 above your losing bid (assuming the proxy system plays fair) I do know the feeling tho...
  20. My wife's CRV was written off a couple of weeks ago , stock car , in trade , taxed on direct debit . I'm insured with NIG and they were very specific that trade policies pay out trade . Liability makes no difference apart from your excess . To be fair they paid quickly and cap clean , owned the car 6 months and still made a couple of hundred... Strong car that CRV , front end torn off and the cabin was like a bouncy castle inside with all the airbags !
  21. definitely in the bid early and try to slow it down camp. Not that any sensible bidding seems to work at BCA anymore...
  22. Always found cargoes to be ok
  23. Blimey ! Been out of the game for 3 months as I lost my yard , new one ready in a few weeks and I'm raring to go...or maybe not having read this ! On the upside missed a crap month it seems...

My experience with Advantage when they had a screamer/knocker was terrible. They were really unprofessional, demanding we buy the car the customer backed to them . No faults with the car , engineers reports riddled with inconsistencies. Advantage threatened to sell car at auction and pursue me for loss , then banged on about my obligations under CRA15 . Pointed out that this was a business to business sale , they owned it and if they bottled it and rolled over (unlike Zuto , who , to be fair told him to do one after he got sweary with them on the phone) they have to take responsibility for it. In the end , to play the helpful dealer I bid them a grand behind book , bought it and sold it again two weeks later .
