  1. Indeed. Astra Merit diesel estates in British racing pink where my favourites, where the only thing that needed to be done was to give the steering wheel a wobble. They used to be the first section at belle vue on a Tuesday, as soon as they moved it to commercial Wednesday the prices shot up and I lost interest in them.
  2. Yep, tis true. I sell loads of cars with these engines and the only time I've changed the timing belt is when they get a bit dry and are a touch noisy on tickover. Fantastic engines that go forever if well maintained.

    GABANO

GABANO, sounds like another mickey mouse advertising platform to me.
  4. Lol. Very good. Take away bca partner finance and I wonder what the results would be?
  5. I can just picture that 'dealer' now.
  6. Autoglym HD seems to do the job nicely However, when the sun is out and time is on short supply, can't beat a bit of Gtechniq C2 liquid crystal
  7. I must admit since we have started machine polishing (properly as well) everything since last year it does seem to have been a real positive. They get finished off with either a proper was or sealant so firstly they look the bees knees on the pitch, secondly, it makes life so much easier for the 'going out' valet. A flick with some water and dry and it's job done.
  8. Anything German, unless it's powered by a French unit.

    Dilemma

Sometimes when I log into this forum I feel like I've been diverted to mum's net.
  10. Aren't they a 'wet" belt on those? Terrible engines since they went down that route and a bit like tradegirl's ds3 with a thp engine, I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole.
  11. Boxes are ok, the stuff that works them can be a little dicy but no huge expense. That said, a small auto ticks a lot of boxes. Get the deal done.
  12. You and me both, and when did car dealers start advertising like estate agents. Every other dealer seems to be 'delighted' to offer you x,y, z. If I was a punter, I'd have visions of Swiss Tony and that can't be good. I love a Euro 6 Picasso, but it has to have 7 chairs so god knows what you do with that. I also like a Clio Estate (again, let's not call them a Tourer ffs) but it has to be diesel. I also agree about the name, thousands do it and it just creates the wrong impression IMO. Personally, I always like a dealer who put's their own name to the company and if I was starting again (god forbid) that's the route I would go down.
  13. He's spot on. If he can match that he can match anything.
  14. According to my AT stats the average distance of people who bought was 11.5 miles since the turn of the year. 10 years ago I reckon that average would have been double, at least.
  15. Half of Washington's sale yesterday must have been taken up by the bloody things and the are everywhere on auction view. I've never been tempted and never will be. Plus 1 on Disco's by the way. Oh, and Vauxhall diesels can take a running jump until the french put them straight.
  16. Could be a number of things , terrible engines, just terrible. Whatever you do, don't buy another one.
  17. You have to hand it to them. And we have nobody to blame but ourselves.
  18. Yep. I knocked a few walls down last year and now have a two/three car bay and like you, it's made a huge difference. There are far too many advantages to list. All major mechanical and paintwork still goes out but I am toying with the idea of knocking up an extension, taking on a painter and setting up a mini body shop which could open to the public for smart repairs, alloys, etc but more importantly would make buying a little more easier on some of the edgy stuff.

    Visa

Not when it costs £10 per thousand to bank. Anyway, finally left the building at 9pm on what was a 6pm handover.

    Visa

    Sill here, ffs.

    Visa

7.30 pm on a Friday and I'm still here trying to sort payments out for vehicles due to Visa going down. What a pain in the arse. Anyone else having issues and if not, best double check the system is up and running tomorrow if you've got stuff going out. I really should be on my second pint by now!
  22. As long as the gearbox is ok, get it bought. Always used to do well with them. Last one I had was in bright yellow and the phone didn't stop ringing for it.
