I'm more or less with you. After leaving Motors recently I enquired about going back on ebaymotorspro as my second platform. I was horrified to find out what they are now charging ( it had to include gumtree which devalues it IMO) and if I had taken them up on their offer it would have been around 25% of my AT bill. Wow. So seeing as findandfund is too expensive IMO it leaves me with only AT and FB until www.emporer'snewclothesandcarsvolasnipwowguruamazeballsandcars.com hits the streets.

If you want a laugh have a look at the Network Rail stuff going through Birmingham on Monday. I did buy an ex met police civilian spec car last week though, clean as whistle with 55k. Bit of a result as the 55k was actually in km. I love it when this happens on the french stuff.

Well another complete waste of a day. Whoever said prices would soften and get back to something like normal, I'll have a pint of what they are on. All we can hope for (and I'n not holding my breath) is that the new reg plate in March brings some sanity to proceedings. Utter madness.
-
Oh stop it. 607's, what a car.
-
Yep, it certainly was a Golden Goose up there but since SMA disappeared it's sadly stopped laying. Used to be able to nick them from Shotts, Intercity and Morris Leslie but sadly no more, better to have loved and lost I suppose....

So, ten decent proxy bids placed today, all unsuccessful. Just like the day before, and the day before that. Yes it will quieten down but by when and by how much? I certainly don't expect it to be changing for a good few weeks so I'm off to Barbados for week soon, the job can kiss my arse until March.

I've made the same point before. I'm surprised that folk are surprised. However, I don't know what you think but Feb has all the signs of being another Jan so that's now two months at least of silly season, personally I fear it could well be more. Not so bad for those of who can afford to sit tight and play the waiting game, but for those with more xxx's than babe station, it must be having a huge effect.

Indeed. Same up here in God's country. Sadly going by what's happening at the block, used diesels are in more demand than ever. Could really do with the Daily Express printing some more front page bollox to be honest.
-
Or charge people to put things in As for diesels, being fairly rural most of my punters want low tax and economy so there really is no other option for the foreseeable future. Can't comment on the new stuff, but the 5-10 year old diesel market is alive and kicking from what I'm seeing.

I knew buying would be tough this month, but it's now to take the ****. Thing is, I can't see prices being sensible in Feb either so bugger it, I'm buying a few more shipping containers.

I've been offered a 'plus' package for 20 cars on a 12 month deal for £450 a month. Needless to say at that sort of money I have declined their offer.
-
Will that figure be going up with this new gumtree deal?
-
I left last year, I'd value the package they are offering you at less than half that. Was playing with the idea of going back on to ebay, but holy smoke batman, how times (and prices) have changed. I can't believe what they are asking.
-
Might send you over a PM later on if you don't mind when I get their email. At the moment I've just got up off the floor with what they are asking.
-
I like it. Funny enough before this announcement I contacted ebay about going back on ebaymotorspro. If you don't mind me asking, how many cars are you getting on for £300 and how much extra are you paying for all the bells and whistles as opposed to the traditional ebaymotorspro set up that I was on 2 years ago and what exactly do you get for that? Cheers.
-
Yep. About as much use as a tax disc holder.
-
Ha, sorry, age before beauty They are fantastic cars, I used to smoke the odd coupe, 2.0 hdi of course. Remember years ago taking one in swap against a newer one. It had 275k on the clock and looked like it had 275k on the clock but I was determined to get it to 300k. Sadly we moved house and the missus thought it was bringing the tone of the avenue down so it had to go

I'm surprised that anyone is surprised what stuff is making. We all know what January is traditionally like for buying stock, factor in this year's a lack of quality for obvious reasons and you are left with even more Tom, Dick and Harrys fighting over what is left after the supermarket guys have filled their boots. Febuary will become the new January and things might ease off apart from the bills and then you are left playing Henry Kelly style catch up for the spring and summer. Nov and Dec folk will be stocking up for the new year and then it's back to square one and these type of threads this time next year. Can't wait.

Aye; A programme for morons of ever there was. Anyway, this 407, dont suppose it's a 2.0 HDi SW is it?

What’s actually selling well ? And what’s not!

Well sadly for those of us who love our diesels, it would appear they are back in vogue at the block. -
Concentrate on your studies, this really isn't a job you can do properly part time.

Beautiful. Had a lovely one last year. Megane dci coupe bought with 73000, miles last serviced on 42000. Plate driver commented on what a canny car it was and his lass liked it (it was from Washington), gave him a lift back to the station and agreed, feels lovely. Put some fuel in, reset the trips and there was a milometer reading of 45000 with paperwork in the glovebox to back it up. Obviously I tried to ring Manheim up to offer them a bit more for it but sadly they didn't answer, honest

Unless the garage he is staking it too are taking the pee on costings, then I agree. Otherwise, get the car back in and get it fixed.

Looks good. First thing I would be doing is putting some LED lights up, then a pool table, then a golf swing room and then probably a bed in the corner for when your in the dog house at home! Anyway, good luck with it.
