Ha, I can't operate anything more than a 10m socket. Rover window mechs though, now your talking

French diesels are still my favourite. Back in the day, I'd walk 500 miles and 500 more to buy a Renault Espace and did very well on MG ZR's. I'd imagine it I went back through my stock book I've probably bought more ZR's than anything else. Huge shame the new ones look now look a 7 pinter, when your sober.

Or Fiat 500's.

Surely coil pack and plugs are the first things to look at?

Anyone able to watch a car go through auction?
sparky replied to rich89's topic in General Dealer Chat
Aye; which I imagine will cost Rich more than £1500. Terrible predicament to be in. -
Never been on it since day one and unless their pricing structure changes, don't intend to be. If they try and force it, I'm off. The idea was right but the subsidised price point of it is just wrong. Even a brand name like RAC had to be buckshee to try and gain some traction, which it never did. Speaking to finance industry rep last week (who called The Car Finance Company going pear shaped) it would appear that it's days are numbered. Shame really.

I've got them with Next Gear and partner finance, don't know why really as I never use them. Two cars a year if that. I know of folk who do well with them, I know of one who had to sell up to pay them money owed. Shame because he had a fantastic pitch (now a car wash) with huge potential and all because he wanted fresher newer stock. Then you have Big cars, caralot and a good few more up and down the country I guess. You live by the sword..... One thing is for sure, they are hugely popular and are the number one factor IMO in what we have seen at the block in recent years. It's not going to happen, but I do wonder how the landscape would look if these products were wound up, quite a bit different I'm sure.

I suppose if you like you car dewaxed with soapy acid then yeah, they are very good at it for the money.
-
I take your point. It will never stop me buying cars that fit my profile regardless of whether i control tells me they are good news or not but it may open my mind a little to stuff I wouldn't usually look at. It's buckshee so not much to lose IMO. Enjoy your San Miguel

I also had a meeting with my rep this week and as ever, I felt like I got something out of it and compared to previous reps, he actually gives a ****. Also, I've now got full i control on trial for two months which is a handy tool to have to work alongside good old fashioned gut instinct. Like Arthur, time will tell...

It beggars belief in this day and age that odours do not form part of their description. I get that they can be a bit of grey area but surely when something stinks to high heaven it could be mentioned. Ozone generators, I quite enjoy breathing so I'll be giving them a miss.

I sold an S max recently to a couple who went to look at an ex police one at a garage in Manchester. Amazingly being ex police didn't put them off although they were a little put out when viewing by it only having 4 seats.

Imagine being in the job a number of years and still having the same issues? My advice would be to get used to it and deal with it because it's only going to get worse.

I can't get my head around ultra high mileage cars, nor can I get my head around ultra low mileage cars. Each to their own I guess.

Aye, happy days, or where they? The job has many downsides these days but online bidding is a huge positive for me. I've bought from both ends of the country this week without moving a muscle. All proxy bids as well so no time wasted. Like you say, if you know what you are doing then the risk is slim. As for rucking up, no ta. I visited my local Wilsons recently for the first time is years. Nothing prepped, vague descriptions and nothing assured with no bonnets being popped up. In this day and age I don't think so, and to add to the misery, well it was very cosmopolitan to say the least.

ha, cheers mate. One good turn and all that

I had three last year and I refunded all three of them on my suggestion. I've done this job fairly for far too long to deal with complete and utters cocks. All three cars then sold more or less straight away with no losses and I have not seen them since. The best one was an idiot who reported me to companies house for a slight mistake on my headed paper. Well that and an idiot who gave me my only 1 star review on facebook last week out of 50 five star ones without even buying a car because I'm not Noel Edmonds and refused him a straight swap, cock.

Online all the way for me. In an ideal world the an appraisal would be a hybrid of Manheim's bodywork and BCA mechanical. Surecheck is complete and utter joke so it's BCA all the way for me although it bugs the hell out of me that they don't declare nasty odours, really no excuse for it.
-
You and me both. I do like that.
-
I imagine they are there to repair the damage caused by their own car washes. I'm sure they do a wonderful job.
-
And yet I wonder what they would say if you told them their A180 was powered by Renault, init.

Best thing to do is reset your password, they will email a new password in gobbledygook, delete that email so that you never log in again. As far as I'm concerned the golden dealer auction goose stopped laying a long time ago and it's just not worth the aggro anymore, not to mention there is no proper profit in anything on there.

Anyone actually bother with the UKCGR sections?
sparky replied to Earunder's topic in General Dealer Chat
This. Personally I treat them the same as any other non fleet/finance car. One thing is for sure, it's one hell of a business model. -
So now Gary Monk. Possibly the most overrated manager on the circuit. Your owners really have made a complete pig's ear of things. Good previous post by the way.

Oh feel free, being a Wrexham fan I'm still dining out on what happened all those years ago I'm a huge fan of Wenger but he really is in danger of tainting his legacy at the moment. Announce this will be his last and then maybe one or two players will find some backbone and hopefully give him a european swansong that he richly deserves. The team as I see it needs major surgery (as did Utd when Fergie left) so I just can't see the in him staying beyond the summer. PS. No apologies from me for going off thread, the AT debate got boring a long time ago. Sigh.
