  1. Comebacks? I’ve put my hand in my pocket once in about 2.5 - 3 years. It cost me £50.
  2. Are you serious? Your defence is going to revolve around “He’s used the car’s O.E. launch control to much & has gone too fast”? If you have confidence your paperwork is correct fuck him off. If it’s not (and I’m guessing you’re not confident) either sort it or fuck him off. A business service taking your side in order to gain your custom. Who on earth would think such a thing!?!!!! Would they even get involved in an ongoing case? More fool them if they would!
  3. What’s all this nonsense from some of you about them not being driven in anger & not abused!?!!!! Fuck me, it’s not Dixon of Dock Green out there nowadays
  4. He’s referring to a 10yr old Astra that’ll be bottom spec, will need bodywork doing, probably have trim to replace & a radio to buy. Hardly prime stock + hours of recon to go into it. At the end you’re left with a bottom spec Astra from a source that, nowadays, is viewed with suspicion by punters.
  5. A number of down-to-earth punters have had a couple of terms on lease plans & the penny has finally dropped - they own fuck all.
  6. Trade Vet knows all about ex-plod cars - he made his fortune courtesy of them. As a one man band I used to sell a few ex-services cars (I started about 10 years ago & had a moderate run of a few over about 3 years) then all of a sudden idiots at the block started bidding them up to bottom & middle book money when they had previously been about half book. That then killed it for me because paying proper money killed the job when you have to de-sticker, fill & paint roofs, fill & paint quarters for various holes repair various body damage, replace bits of trim & missing radios. Plod also used to go through the car, often service them, ensuring they were roadworthy (new tyres etc) and declare ANY AND EVERY fault but that also went out of the window. TBH David Horgan summarised perfectly the current take on ex-services cars. A shame because I used to make reasonable money out of Focuses in white Bobby Basic wheeltrim specification and (don’t laugh) fluorescent yellow Focuses from the ambulance services. A bonus was also the local post office still taxed the ex-ambulance service cars under the NHSV tax bracket (free tax) so the punters all left with a year’s tax
  7. Chipstick, about as much use as a dog’s lipstick.
  8. It’s not AT, other advertising mediums have also ‘enjoyed’ more views. I guess due to it being dead for the last month
  9. Rough castings and/or poor quality alloy usually come as standard. They can come with as many quality certificates as you want but they won’t be worth the paper they’re written on.
  10. Hahaha, I saw that. That Rory’s a cheeky chappy

    Hey car

I saw an advert on TV for them - although it was on an obscure British channel that I was watching on Cypriot internet-TV. “Hey” is the way a number of Pakistanis/Asians seem to start their emails, presumably trying to grab attention. I find “Hey” downright rude. If some cheeky bastard said “Hey” to me face to face I’d ask them who the fuck they thought they were talking too. Sorry but Hey boils my piss.
  12. Anyone got an emoji that looks like a steaming pile of bullshit?
  13. Poor colour, slightly substandard photos (although they’re not the problem here), too low miles & how much!?!!! Never mind Autotrader telling you how much it should be, it’s looks far too much to a casual observer. It’s mid range rep fodder. I’d want it to be twice the miles & thousands cheaper. With any unwanted cars it’s simply a waiting game.
  14. Dan, you’re just a little bit further away from DA’s offices than a dealer in Northampton
  15. Many years ago at the start of the fleabay gold mine I used to sell EVERYTHING as SorR. After a number of years I was formally, by letter, asked to attend a meeting with my local TS branch. Allegedly the head man had been looking for a Mondeo Estate over his Christmas holiday and had cast his eye over one of my adverts - apparently he spat out his mince pie at my adverts! Anyway I ended up removing all of the SorR bullshit & put up my prices to compensate. I was instructed that even my ebay auction listings weren’t to be SorR as a standard clause because it’s a public forum. Where’s this leading? What surprises me is that in 2019 there are still a number of these outfits advertising vehicles as standard for SorR.
  16. It’s no way wonder many of the vendors actively deceive.
  17. I’ve not had first hand experience but I believe they are. I’ve been told they pay-out on claims under their unofficial ‘warranty’ for about 3 months.
  18. Some great advice here for a member of the general public.

    Ebay Scam!

It’s wrong but see below. One greedy c*** conning another greedy c***.
  20. WTF? Cleaning seatbelts cos they don’t retract fast enough!?!! Tell the man to fuck off, he sounds like the sort of punter who’ll live with you.
  21. +1. Poor Tradegirl, he/she’s correct. These “cambelt” or “camchain” punters never buy in my experience. They either whinge cos it hasn’t been done this week or if it has been changed “will get back to you”. As Rory says, say sweet f.a. about repairs - unless it’s easy to understand such as brakes & tyres.

    I miss...

What happened to it? It was all over the streets in the 70s.
