That’s your funniest post in ages! Funnily enough the last time I was in the Bristol City Centre plenty of bag heads asked me for financial assistance. They’ll have to start working night shifts for handovers of diesels.

That’s what you get when you get a council under Labour control with heavy support from Lib Dem’s & Greens - I see the Green Party are a strong 4th in Bristol. Anyhow, if Corbyn or Swinson get voted in, Bristol banning a few compression ignition cars will be the least of this country’s worries. Allegedly Bristol has a death toll of 300 p.a. due to air pollution! I’d love to see how the council arrived at that figure. I suspect a liberal lefty cock-eyed equation to suit their case.

Isn’t it that ‘delightful’ FIAT diesel? A lovely engine & I'm surprised anyone has cause for complaint.

Where have all the "what's the lasta Prica brigade gone?"

I’ve just switched on eBay to which I saw I’d had an email regarding a VW. Guess what he was asking about...... WTF is wrong with VAG men? On Friday one of them phoned up with the same question to which I answered “Yes, over the years it’s had a few actually”. He thanked me for the information & rang off! What’s that all about? -

I love the look of these old Pontiacs, although prefer the look of a few years earlier. Tbh I’ve always fancied a ‘74 with the ‘new’ front & small back window but I’ve never quite had the balls to delve deeper, tbh I’m just a sad, pathetic ’Nearly Man’ when it comes to yank cars. I also imagine now they’re all full of welding wire & filler and I’d feel apprehensive driving one of my ‘heroes’ only to find it drove like a heap of shit. I recall about 6/7 years ago, when prices were half-sensible, I tried a 348 & a Mondial T. I’d summarise them as absolute piles of shit that rode & handled like they had concrete tyres, felt like a badly assembled kit car & had the sort of performance a decent hot hatch delivers. I now drive a £100 scrapper taken in p/x.

The Yorkshire war cry - HOW MUCH???? £350 for a few hours labour. You must use a main dealer. I’d expect a (cash) bill in two figures.
-
I’m not giving away my trade prices for consumption by the general public. I’d rather put them in the VIP area for transfer onto CAG.

When at the block I sometimes see total pigs getting knocked down to the Internet for decent money & think sarcastically ‘that’ll be a nice surprise for the buyer’. A couple of times recently I’ve dipped my toe into the chilly waters of online bidding. To summarise, it’s just as well I have a painter & mechanic who work for next to f.a.

Irony’s the word bearing in mind our whinging about punters whinging about £. Sometimes we’re just like a Billy Bunter looking for a car - price led. Cheap!!! Best/last price! How much for cash? Little mention here of service levels
-
My guess is the £180 quote was for a return journey for a wagon that was already near the pick-up location. Regarding you choosing a driven service in the past I wouldn’t because them boys will get it to you come hell or high water - they’ll drive them until the car is dead.
-
......but just imagine the secondhand punters 10 years down the line. Even if you advertised it for 50p the greedy bastards would whinge about the £570 road tax.

When a Johnny Big Balls know-all mechanic start their gobshiteing (if there’s such a word) and fall at the first hurdle of trying to open a bonnet I’m the master of going silent & standing back watching them get flustered. It’s usually after about 90 seconds of making a twat of themselves (90 seconds is a long time with someone staring at you) in front of the potential buyer that they ask for help. It’s at that point I pounce............

I still get the occasional “last price” enquiry this month but for some reason the BIG question recently has been “has the cambelt been changed?” True to form, absolutely NONE of these shithead cambelt enquiries has led anywhere. -
Welcome, I guess we all find what sort of cars are good news and what are bad news. However I’m sure we’ve all had a type of car that sells quickly whenever you get one in stock then all of a sudden one stalls & is there 6 months.
-
Depressingly even when you answer “Yes” with these guys it leads nowhere. ’Cambelt men’ aren’t buyers.
-
What about the punters on them?
-
It seems like Tradex & David Ayers have summed it all up.
-
Why? He shouldn’t be embarrassed about sacking off a chancer & the chancer’s self-appointed finance company.

I think some of these posts nowadays should be redirected to a mental health forum. No offence intended to though who have genuine mental health issues rather than just fucking numpties who can’t organise their lives.
-
Oh shit, terrible. Lovely punters, at least you shouldn’t hear back from them regarding any warranty issues. If you don’t entertain a repair keep it for a few weeks & any complaints just bounce it back into them. On a more light hearted note perhaps ahanhyper can give us some useful insight into this problem?
