  1. Steaming will stretch cloth, fabric and velour.....
  2. I've told a few morons with tick lists and torches to leave unceremoniously in the past. They wouldn't get pass my qualifying now
  3. I use Tescos Valeters, a friendly bunch of Eastern Europeans run the franchise and do a very good job, a full valet for £50 inc vat. Absolute bargain!
  4. BHM, you should write a book and call it "tales of woe" best seller!
  5. The Manufacturers, Main Dealers, Finance PCP keep their eyes very very shut......
  6. No problem your accountant is the best person to advise you on how to do your figures
  7. You need to register for VAT now if you expect to exceed the threshold. Don't waste your "life" doing your own accounts, get an accountant / book keeper to do it for you, they pay for themselves
  8. Yes, it'll add value and legitimise your business, customers will search for your website. I use CarDealer5, they're websites are excellent value, easy to use and I can highly recommend them in every respect.
  9. Grant, I've found vans are bought and sold when someone's circumstances have changed, either it's no longer needed or they need extra seats....something bigger or smaller, they are good news as long as you've given the right money of course:)
  10. I've sold quite a few commercials over the years (mainly PX's) and done very well out of them. They have always been older with without the dreaded VAT which attracts a lot of buyers, they specifically look for adverts with No VAT. Lots of people have vans who aren't VAT registered.
  11. My consulting fees are £150+ VAT an hour, minimum 3 hours. How do you want to pay ?
  12. and these people are actually allowed to drive????
  13. Complete waste of money. A simple 50 to 100 mile web search on a comparable car will give you your local market value. Buyers look for ease and convenience. You don't need AT you tell you what it's worth.
  14. Alfie, remember this. You are your own business, a finance company should work for you, not the other way around. You earn them considerably more ££££s than what they will pay you. It's a necessary evil, just make sure the cards are stacked fairly.
  15. I can honestly say I've never taken a car to a viewing.
  16. Trade Vet. I see it very differently. When I talk to the boys at auction with sites, they're always moaning and saying they wished they didn't have the expense and responsibility, the costs, the hassle, in fact they're all looking for cheaper ways out. I certainly don't envy anyone with a site, I believe it's the other way round
